Hello everybody,

I am a Reproductive Biology student and me and my group are currently carrying out a survey-based research on the effects of herbs and natural supplements on female reproductive health. If you ever took or are taking natural supplements for reproductive health related issues, please spare few minutes by filling out the survey: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/14vhpzCozH-8ifqoJr7k8kT4XbByHD-NuXdZYSrM8qno/viewform
We need as many respondents as possible (as bigger samples always make the results more reliable), so don't hesitate to share it with others!
I apologise for the use of female-centric language, however it was not our intention to exclude anyone from participating! If you feel like your response would be relevant, please do fill out the survey - the more responses the better.

You are also encouraged to share your experiences with natural supplements in the comments below, if you wish. :)

Thank you for your time, if you have any questions contact me either here or at my e-mail address which you can find on the survey!

Hey VP! I have a few questions and I haven't been able to get anyone to give me an unbiased answer, so I'm hoping someone here can help me out.
First of all, how dangerous is it to smoke while taking combo BC pills compared to not taking any BC? I'm 21, I take Trinessa and I usually smoke a pack a day. I haven't told my dr that I smoke, but I plan to do so when I get my yearly exam. The problem is that my dr is very opposed to me having kids because of my mental health issues, so I know he isn't going to want me to stop taking BC. But if smoking and taking BC is increasing my chances of having a heart attack or stroke by a lot, I'd rather stop taking BC than try to quit smoking. I know smoking is terrible and I should quit, but I'm just not willing to quit yet.
Secondly, I've been told that progesterone only BC doesn't increase the risk of heart attacks or strokes if you smoke while taking it, but I've heard a lot of horror stories about people having never ending periods on POPs and Implanon. I've also heard of periods completely disappearing, which I don't want either. An IUD isn't an option for me because my dr said I can't get one til I've had a kid. Is there any progesterone only BC that isn't likely to mess up my periods/cause excessive spotting?
Thanx in advance for the advice!
