I just got an IUD yesterday and my doctor recommended using pads for this period. I haven't used them in a while but I'm getting the hang of it again. My only problem is at night. The blood always channels down my butt crack and doesn't get on the pad. My question for you folks, is it okay to take either the pad or a cloth wipe and stick it between my labia majora so the blood has to go into it instead of traveling? I don't see why it would be a problem unless it somehow moves a bunch and gets bacteria from one place in another place but while I'm sleeping that doesn't seem likely. I'm just wondering if there is any reason not to do it.

I'm also wondering what the most absorbent fabric is for cloth pads and wipes.
