UTI Question

Guys, maybe ya'll can help me out here.

I get UTI's often but I always kno when I'm having  a flare up and I take AZO pills b4 the symptoms get too bad. I have a heavy bladder feeling and feel like i have to go pee every 5mins and just feel extremely uncomfortable and can't sit or lay or stand or anything. I think mine gets worse bc I have anxiety and I start feelin really anxious and make it 10x's worse that it is -- esp when all I want to do is pee. After I get my AZO's in my system (or for the really bad ones get antibiotics for it) I get to feeling better in 24/48hrs.

My question --

My gf has a UTI (or atleast that's wat the ER doc diagnosed her with). And they did a urine sample (I've had that done at both ER's around here b4, my pcp has ordered it a couple times bc he's caught a UTI on me, and soo has my gyno) but they also did an ultra sound on her. I've never had an ultra sound done but I have had x-rays and ct scans done bc 1x they didnt kno wat was causing my pain since the UTI and pregnancy test were both negative on me.

Is it normal that they did an ultra sound on her?? And is it normal for a UTI to cause ur ovaries to hurt and ur back?? I dont usually have these pains when I have my UTI symptoms, just maybe a lil pain in my lower abdomen (like very uncomfortable -- not to where it interfers in my daily routine or anything) but mostly a full bladder feeling is the signal to me that something is wrong. But she did wait 2wks b4 she went to the ER. Soo we assume that is why her pain && symptoms are a lil different from when I have one.

They told her that it was from her wiping back to front when she pees (which this happened to my mom 1x when I was younger and this is why I tryin wipe front to back but I have weird ph anyways and stay yeasty all the time and if I just sweat a lil bit I have a yeast infection or rash or something down in my girly bits).

Soo wat do ya'll think?? Any info would be greatly appreciated bc eventho I have UTI's quite frequently she doesnt think my reasons for getting em are the same reasons she's gotten one since she swears this is the 1st on she's ever had and she's 30yrs old. Thnx.

My main concern goes beyond the directions for consecutive missed pills. What if you were to miss a pill or two throughout your cycle but not at the same time?

On May 26, I was supposed to start my Loloestrin Fe pack but accidentally left it at my apartment while I was out of town. Instead, I started it on May 28 when I returned by doubling up both days (May 28 and 29) to catch up. Then, without thinking, I accidentally had taken that day's pill as well as the following day's pill around June 2-4 (I forget which day it was). Since I wasn't sexually active and I didn't want to be a day off with my pack, I decided to skip the following day and resume on schedule from there (If it was June 2 I doubled up by accident, I waited until June 4 to take June 4's pill several hours earlier, so I wasn't 24 hours late with my pill)

Lo and behold, I ended up having surprise sex after returning from a night out on June 7. We didn't use a condom, and I forgot to take my pill until 8 a.m. (as opposed to 10 p.m. to 12 a.m. - it varies by the day.). This is very unlike me (I have been good about the pill for the most part for years), and now I am concerned. My friend who is a doctor in Pittsburgh told me I should be fine, even though I skipped that one day, that I would be more at risk if I missed a few days. But what if I missed a few pills throughout different times of the month? How drastically is my protection compromised?

Douching for yeast/BV

I am on my 4th yeast infection of this year already after only having two in my life before.

I've been able to kick the yeast via garlic/oil of oregano/gentian violet in the past.... but this one seems a bit persistant and I was worried it may be BV. I heard a hydrogen peroxide douche would work for either.

Those with experience using this method: how many days did you douche and how often? I have read once a day until symptoms clear up is best. I did this first tonight with a solution of one cup distilled water, 1 tablespoon hydrogen peroxide and 3-4 drops of tea tree. I think I will add some vinegar to the mix in the future.

I was very surprised in how it did not hurt or sting at all! It was actually pretty refreshing and I already feel a little better. This was my first time and though I do not plan on making it a habit, it would be nice to have a very low cost option for my frequent yeast infections.

I realize I should probably investigate my reoccurring yeast infections, but I am not going to be insured until next month so I need to find a over the counter solution for now.

I use no soap on my vagina anymore for months, always cotton underwear, no feminine products (Mirena IUD, no period) except very occasionally a menstrual cup if I do bleed a little.

I'm not a swimmer (not sitting around in a wet bathing suit)... the only thing that could be causing them is my new found love of oral sex.... which definitely is a leading culprit (I have been dating the guy now - who enjoys giving oral- exactly 6 months, during which I have had 4 infections- hadn't had one for a couple years prior)
