Hi Everyone. So I went on HBC for the first time in several years last month, and just have a few questions. I waited until my period started to begin the Sprintec, and that happened on October 4th. I had a regular 7 day period, and then when it stopped I continued to take the pills as normal.

However, I messed up and missed that I was supposed to take all the colored pills before taking any of the whites/placebos, which lead to me having another period in October. Yay.

So, now it's November, and I just want to clarify that this month I should take all three weeks of blue pills and then the last week of the month take the placebos, and that's when my period should come from now on, correct?

I just want to make sure I've finally figured this out .... don't want to keep having double periods every month, lol.

TIA! <3

I have to take amoxycillin 875mg/potassium clavulanate 125mg twice a day for five days :( to stave off a YI, I'm planning to flood my system with probiotics in tablet form and eat buckets of yoghurt, as well as inserting 10ml vaginally each night. Just wondering, am I best off taking the probiotic tablets at the same time as the antibiotic, or just before, just after, with a two hour buffer between, or what? Don't want to have the good beasties eaten up by the meds before they can get into my gut!

This past weekend, my mother, who is 61 and hasn't had her period for about 15 years told me, that she was spotting. This isn't the first time this has occurred. This is the third or fourth time this year she's mentioned it to me. On one occasion, she said it was like she was having her period, complete with painful cramps but only lasted 2 days. She's convinced that it's just stress that comes with being unemployed and having a difficult room-mate. I've done a bit of research on this topic and it seems more serious to me. What do you all think? Has anyone had this issue, or a relative who did? How can I convince my mother to take this seriously? It scares me to think she's waited too long already. Not only does she need to know, but so do I. If cancer of the uterus/cervix, etc. runs in the family, I should be aware.

Thanks, everyone. Forgive my lack of tagging, but I've no idea what's what!

Quick public service announcement. Did everyone else know that Microgynon seem to have changed their advice on how many pills you can safely miss? I'm SURE it was always that it was fine to miss one but if you missed two you had to use back-up protection etc. Well, I forgot to take mine till 11 last night, checked the leaflet and now it says you need back up etc even if you are just 12 hours late taking it! But the NHS (Uk National Healthy Service) website still says 'If you’ve missed one pill anywhere in the pack or started a new pack one day late, you’re still protected against pregnancy'...

When I went to the pharmacist she said that if you were 12 hours late you needed back-up/morning after, but didn't advise running two packs together if the missed pill is in last 7 days- as the NHS and Citlopram packaging does. It just seems like there is a complete disconnect between what the Pharamceutical companies advise and what different branches of NHS do, and it's no bloody wonder there are so many unplanned pregnancies!

The pharmacist also wouldn't give me Plan B without asking over and over again if I was sure I wasn't already pregnant. And I'm never sure about anything! So I had to go and do a pregnancy test before she'd give it to me and made me paranoid I'm going to have an ectopic pregnancy!

I've never been very good at taking my pill at the same time every day. I work from home so don't always get up at the same time, and I tend to lie in till midday at weekends, so no idea when would be a good time to choose :-/

Random question: do anyone else's nipples get hard when they're nervous?

I assumed it was normal, since it's happened to me for as long as I can remember, but I've googled it recently, and it doesn't seem to be a "thing."

Is it just me, or just not something that people post about on the internet enough for it to turn up on Google? XD
