I had a C-section 4 weeks ago, I had to because my baby was in the complete breech position so although I went into labour on my own.. I never dilated past 2cms.
I had lochia type bleeding for 2 weeks after the c-section and then it tapered off to fresh bleeding only occasionally after I fed my son (I am breastfeeding on demand)...however, for the past 4-5 days I've been experiencing something similar in consistency to EWCM except brownish/streaked with blood and then last night after I went to the toilet I noticed this enormous blob of mucus hanging out of me.  It was about 1 inch wide and 4 inches long but very stretchy and almost unbreakable, brownish/red like old blood.

After I gave birth we had to take me off our health insurance plan because the premium went up to $800 a month for the family plan and we can't afford that.  I tried to get a private plan but I have a pre-existing health condition which makes me uninsurable.. so I can't go to the Doctor about this.

I don't have a fever, the blob thing didn't smell bad and I'm otherwise feeling ok..
Has anyone else experienced something like this?

I'm 24 and I've notice for about a year that the skin near my groin (going out about two inches down the insides of my legs to the point where I can't wear a bathing suit) is a lot darker than the rest of my skin. I also have similar dark marks under my arms which keeps me from wearing tank tops. They go down the sides of my body to my breasts. The crease at where my leg and vulva meet is so dark in spots it looks like bruising. I know that this can be caused by insulin resistance, but I don't really have any other pre-diabetic symptoms except for skin darkening. I'm not overweight although I'm also out of shape and don't eat too well, so I will get checked anyway when I get the chance. If this is caused by insulin resistance can it be reversed by exercising more and eating better? I am also on birth control, I don't know if that can factor in, and I've never been pregnant. Has anyone else experienced this, and has anything helped in lightening it, or is this permanent?

Thanks.

Hi Everyone,

This is hopefully a quick and easy question! It's outside of my gyno's hours and you've all been so lovely and helpful with past issues that I know someone can help me out :)

I've been on Loestrin 24 FE since February 2011. However, I've had some annoying issues with breakthrough bleeding ever since I've been on it and it's gotten really expensive, so I asked my doctor to switch me to Tri-Sprintec. I want to see how I do on a tri-phasic pill, and I know lots of people who did well on it. The office called the prescription in today, and I'm scheduled to finish my last pack of Loestrin (i.e. take the last inactive pill) next Wednesday, 7/25.

In reading up on Tri-Sprintec, it looks like I'm being instructed to take the first pill either with a "Sunday start" the Sunday after my period begins or on the first day of my period. If I did this, historically, it would be on the day I took the 2nd of my 4 inactive Loestrin pills. I'd assumed I should start taking the Tri-Sprintec when I should have started my new pack of Loestrin if I had continued on it, but I'm not sure if the difference in the number of active pills throws this off.

My doctor started me on Loestrin on a Thursday in order to avoid periods on the weekends, and I'd actually like to preserve this on Tri-Sprintec if possible because I'll be seeing my boyfriend ONLY on the weekends as I start grad school. What should I do in that case? We're planning on using condoms for the first month or so of the Tri-Sprintec to be extra-cautious, so not being fully protected by the BCP alone for a bit is not necessarily a huge issue.

Thanks!

Hey VPers,

I have a feeling this is a really silly question and I can't believe I put myself in a position to be asking it. I take a tri-nessa and am usually almost perfect in taking it. I took my second-to-last active pill 5 minutes ago, mistakenly without water. Well, lo and behold, after about 3 minutes something in my throat causes me to cough. It turns out it was my pill, with all the blue coating dissolved off. It seemed like the bulk of the pill was still in tact, so I swallowed it. I had a spare pack but I (mistakenly again) left it in the trunk of my car where it surely got very very hot.

My question is: Will this count as a missed pill? I'm kind of freaking myself out a bit. The only sex I'm concerned about occurred today, but he withdrew well in advance. Should I use backup protection during my off week?

Thanks. :)

HELLO SUPERSTARS:

I'm a cis-female, 25, and have been married to a cis-male for almost 2 years. I've had an IUD (Merina) for almost two years as well. I'm an abuse survivor. Consequently, my husband and I rarely have PIV sex. We don't usually use condoms because of the IUD. However, when we do if he ejaculates inside me it always burns. I wouldn't say that I feel like I'm on fire, but it is somewhat strong and sometimes it lasts for an hour plus.  Usually I shower afterwards but that doesn't help reduce the burning. Besides being uncomfortable for me, it is triggering. I know that one possible solution would be to wear condoms, but he really doesn't like them. I know he would, but if there's another solution that would be great. SO. Is this normal? Am I allergic to his semen? What can we do to reduce this?

THANKS

Mods: I hope this is okay; I checked the tags and the only other entry on this topic was in 2006.

Hi again! I posted a little while ago with this: http://vaginapagina.livejournal.com/21010023.html

I did end up going to my gyno as it got a little bit worse, on Monday. It got to a point where was having "mini periods" after sex-- fresh bleeding that would last overnight. Troubling!

It started to worry me, but after taking a look, my doctor said it was nothing serious. Somehow I just had a little sore spot/scrape (first time ever) on my cervix. So he treated it with silver nitrate and told me to avoid sex until after my next period (which is soon- yay!)

I had some spotting.. a little black/grey stuff (silver nitrate) and a little blood. I thought nothing of it until it started to get a little heavier, and once again I've had to deal with moderate bleeding for a few days in a row. I think now the bleeding has reduced to spotting, but pretty much every time I go to the bathroom or something, bits of grey/silver material show up. It feels kinda yucky :(

I'm just curious to see if any of you have had experiences with silver nitrate. I imagine this isn't abnormal but I'm not sure, and my doctor didn't say anything about it..

Also, since I've had to deal with all of this I've been wearing pads a lot. I also have very sensitive skin, so I've started to get really irritated down below from it (like a diaper rash or something, ugh). Any advice on a good way to soothe it or reduce further irritation?
