I've been getting breakthrough bleeding during the third week of my pack for a couple of cycles now. I'm getting super sick of it! It means two weeks out of four I'm bleeding.

I'm in the middle of my placebo week right now. I want to start my next pack now and stop the bleeding. (I'm on vacation - when I get back I'm going to go to the gyno and change pills, because this one is not working for me.)

I've never stacked pills before. Any advice or ideas? Should this work OK?

This past weekend I had sex while on a camping trip. The condom broke/fell off during but I'm on birth control so I didn't think much of it at the time. We fell asleep pretty quickly afterwards and I never bothered to locate the condom (usually he takes care of that). Fast forward to this Tuesday; while in the restroom I feel something funny, turns out the condom had fallen off and was still in me! This has never happened to me and I'm a very weirded out by this. I never noticed it or felt different, and I feel fine now but the idea that it was in me for a few days concerns me. For a few years I was having issues with chronic Yeast and Bacterial infections so I was worried this might cause those issues to flare up again. It's been a few days and I feel fine, but I still wonder.

Has this ever happened to anyone and should I be worried about any health risks?

Brief update: I had very rough sex with this guy in particular for the first time. At one point I felt a really uncomfortable feeling, and then it started to sting really badly. I had to stop everything because I was in so much pain. Turns out I've got a few cuts that look semi-deep from his nails. There are 2 bigger ones, maybe an inch and a half in length, and one smaller one, but they're all near the vaginal opening so it's very uncomfortable to use the bathroom. It's the weekend, I live in a big city, and I work all day today and tomorrow.

Is there anything I can do to make it feel better so I don't dread going to the bathroom? I can go to a clinic Monday morning, but for now that is my only option! HELP!

Hey girls,

Background: 22 years old, up until recently, had gentle, but irregular cycles. I wanted to see if I could regulate this, so this past year, have been on multiple birth controls, switches all due to weird side effects. Seasonique: Horrible mood swings. Lo Seasonique: Anxiety, panic attacks, depression. Zovia 35: bleeding for a month straight. My doctor and I have been trying to regulate my period. For a while, I completely "detoxed" off of the BCs, in hopes that my body would straighten itself out. My family has a history of hormonal issues. My mother went into menopause at 36.

The last few months, I have had cramps so bad that I am curled up in a ball, crying. I'm also experiencing nausea and vomiting that we're not sure is it's own symptom, or a result of the pain. The pain starts where it feels it's inside my vagina, possibly around the area of the cervix, and radiated outward, filling my entire pelvis. There is no position, pressure, heat, cold, ibuprofen, etc that even dulls the pain.

When I saw my doctor about this, we put me on beyaz. I've been on the medication for a little less than 3 weeks. I started it the day after my natural period was gone. About 4 days in, I started spotting, and then got my period again, and it hasn't stopped yet. It's brown, thick, almost gelatinous blood, and there's no cramping, but I have been experiencing some serious exhaustion, which I think may be from bleeding so much.

Thursday, I have another appointment, and we are going to be doing an ultrasound, my annual, and a pap. My doctor and I have talked about the possibility of a cervical sample? (I may not be referring to that properly. They may take a piece to biopsy, depending on whether or not we find something promising in the ultrasound and pelvic.) I'm really nervous, and a friend of mine said when they took hers, she was in severe pain for several days. I have to work 1-9 the next day (My appointment is at 830 a.m thursday) and I'm concerned about whether or not I'll be able to, if we do the sample. I'm really worried about what this could be in general, and I'm really freaked out about the sample. We've talked about endometriosis, fibroids, cysts, and cancer. All the possibilities are freaking me out and making me really anxious. Does anyone have any advice? Experiences? Should I take the next day off of work? Am I panicking for no reason?

Hey guys :)

Ok so I'm not on my period, so its not that. My fiance and I had sex on Thursday and we didn't even get to finish cause I was cramping up so bad. It's now Saturday and I'm still having the cramp on my left side. What the hell is it??
Also I know this is TMI, but on Monday I had like a half a box of Fiber One bars cause thats all that was in my house... um I couldn't poop for a couple days and now I've got the runs, so maybe the cramps have to do with that. But why were they brought on by sex? And why are they still here? Any answer will help :)

Just wanted to thank everyone so much for the comments and replies to my last entry. It put me more at ease about my number, and also helped me realize that just because someone asks me what my number is doesn't mean I have to tell them. I think a good reply that I'm going to use is, "A few." Or, "We'll just say that this isn't my first time." I don't know, that still sounds questionable, but it will work.

I do have a few questions. I have a hard time getting wet. Even with some foreplay, I'm still pretty dry down there. Sometimes nipple stimulation for long periods of time helps me get a little wet down there, but not enough. I almost always have to use my mouth on the guy to make him wet first so that he will slide in me. If I don't, it literally just won't go in because it is so dry. Sometimes if they thrust really hard they can make it in, but even that is very hard. Is this a huge problem? How can I fix it? Could dehydration be a problem? I don't drink a ton of water, and sometimes whenever I'm engaging intercourse, there can be alcohol involved, which dehydrates me even more.

ExpandCut for possible triggers- drug use )

Also, a few times a year after my period my vagina and vulva hurt. It's kind of like a chafing hurt that starts a few days after my period ends and lasts for about a week or so. It also stings sometimes when I urinate. I've been checked for STDs the last time I went to the gyno, so it can't be anything like that, although I have had two sexual partners since then and this problem has been happening for over a year now. Any idea what this is and why it only happens sometimes?

Last one, I'm terribly afraid that I'm infertile. I've always battled with chronic bacterial vaginosis (BV) and have taken antibiotics for it at least seven times. I've had this problem for about three years, and have posted in here numerous times about it. I haven't had a case of it for a few months, but I'm scared that the infections made me infertile and that I won't be able to ever bear children. I read somewhere that if left untreated for even a few days BV can destroy the fallopian tubes. Is there anyway to have my gyno check to make sure I'm still fertile? If it matters at all, I've taken Plan B three times over the course of five years.

Wetness?

Hi VPer's!

Now I have been on birth control pills in some variation for 6 years continuously. When I was first on birth control pills (Ortho tricyclen lo back then..) I could self lubricate decently if not sometimes too much. It was this way before pills too. But as the years have gone on I do not self lubricate nearly at all anymore.

While I am not in a relationship right now I would like to be able to be excited. I am thinking that if I take a break from birth control for a while like 3-6 months would this help with my self lubricating problem or is it useless?

I have lube and do use coconut oil but my ability to be excited just seems to have died as the use of the pill has gone on longer and longer. I am thinking I need a break.

Or is a break just silly?

Help!!

So I was on Loloestrin, but because i never got a period while i was on it, and wanted to get an IUD, my gyno switched me to the regular loestrin 24 FE. Well today was my first brown pill, and should have started my period..i have no cramps, no PMS whatsoever, and no period. do other women take this and not get a period?! AND, since this was my first month taking loestrin 24 FE and not the loloestrin, was i not as protected? does it make a difference? the only time i have had sex was not this weekend, but last saturday-tuesday..so it would have seemed fairly late in my cycle to be ovulating..i know i should just take a test but before i go spend the money on a test i thought i'd hear what others had to say?!
