I've been off of my birth control for about a week and a half and I've been incredibly horny for the last week.
Do you think these are related?

Hello, VPers. I feel like I am almost spamming this comm with all my drama, but I have a serious, serious issue here and I need some reassurance.

I have spent the last few years with an unhappy vagina.

It started with a yeast infection about five years ago, and since I have had several more, then a period of what I thought was BV but it never showed up on swabs. When I switched from Cilest to the Mirena, the yeast infections stopped being monthly but recently it's just been incredibly itchy and uncomfortable. I had swabs again which this time did show BV (another annoyance in my ladypart world: I have ovarian cysts and I want an ultrasound because I can feel them and they are incredibly painful, but every doctor I see makes me do swabs first in case it's an infection. Having had 4 screenings this year, it is not an infection. It's a huge tennis ball size cyst, please take it out of me!).

So I've done a course of antibiotics. It feels itchy again. I'm fed up. I have spent the last week reading about boric acid but the idea of using something that kills cockroaches on my ladybits is a bit scary (I mean, I have a reason to be angry at her but I don't want to kill her ha!).

I am in the UK so not sure the best place to buy them from so headed to Amazon:

Is this potentially the answer to making me and my vagina fall in love again?

Hello everyone! It's another one of those pregnancy posts that get kind of annoying =P

Sooo I had my period last month again all weird like. It was light and then heavy and then light and cramps galore everywhere. Seriously crazyyyyy cramps! I hadn't had cramps like that in ages. Anywayyyy my question is a) does birthcontrol really eventually make your periods lighter/shorter? Because before it was like almost 4 days long and this time it was more like two days of bleeding with two more days of light bleeding (more than spotting but not a lot more) and the blood was dar red mostly. Alsooo b) if you are pregnant and have desidual bleeding should that come with cramps? I'm not talking mild cramps but more like needin to sit down and shut up because it hurts so bad kind of cramps. I take my pills every evenin at 6 pm sharp every day was only mildly late one day that I puked three times (stomach flu) and took it 11 hours later but obviously no sexy time happened for a few days since I was ill and icky. Antibiotics were adminstered and even though they weren't ones to interact with my birth control pills (generic form of ortho-cyclen, hasn't changed for over a year) we still used the pull out methode during that time. My period came on time after the illness (it either comes on a monday or tuesday) but it was short (like described above). I haven't had any other pregnancy symptoms and am expecting my period this coming monday buuuut seeing as I had a weird period I just want to make sure before spending my money on a pregnancy test (don't live in the US so no access to dollar stores =( ).

Hello! I'm a longtime reader, first time poster. I had mirena inserted (will be 2 years ago in feb 2012) after the birth of my second child. Since I went straight from pregnancy to mirena (6 weeks in between) and nursed the first year I had mirena, it's hard for me to distinguish where my symptoms are coming from. I'm starting to lean towards blaming mirena because I stopped nursing in march and everything has stayed the same annoying symptom wise.

My main complaints:
1) ACNE!! It's awful. I'm broken out constantly. Sometimes it's painful. It's pretty much all over my face and I have tried switching cleansers, washing pillowcases, and dermatologist prescribed topicals (differin, retin a, and clindamycin)

2) sex drive is gone. I have a 7 year age difference between my kids and I was on yaz for the majority of that time with a very healthy sex drive. It vanished during pregnancy and has not come back :(

3) this could be unrelated but I'm going to throw it out there and see if anyone has experienced something similar. I have a really weird scalp problem that also extends to my face sometimes. At the end of each Hair follicle is a little hard whitish thing..like a tiny grain of rice. I've googled and found that it can be a type of overactive sebaceous glands. I get these on my face around my hairline too, in addition to cystic acne. Could this be related to mirena as well? I didn't have it before!!

4) I just haven't felt "right". I'm not as easy going of a person as I once was (ask my husband! Lol)

So, I'm seriously considering getting the mirena removed ASAP. I'd need a different form of bc and I'm hoping to find one that will help me with these symptoms. Since I was fine on yaz before, should I switch back? Has anyone here ever switched from mirena to another form of bc? What did you choose and how were the results?

Thanks in advance! You guys are awesome!

Super quick question here --

Is there a safe hormonal birth control to be on if one has migraines with aura? Can anyone direct me to reliable literature about the topic?

Thank you!

So I had my contraceptive implant (implanon) took out last Wednesday due to the side effects doing my nut in. I had put on a stone in the 2 years I've had it plus the irregular periods! Anyway since Monday I've been feeling full after only eating little bits, it seems to get worse every day. Also feel quite cranky. I should mention I was on the pill for 2 months prior to coming off the implant so I'd be covered protection wise. Do you think this is normal symptoms because the implant increased my appetite to make me gain weight? I was hoping I'd lose weight when I came off it but not by feeling excessively full all the time, it's uncomfortable. :(

Well after so much time of vagina problems, surgery, pills, trying and failing at sex with my boyfriend.... it finally happened! :)
We were fooling around in his bed like usual and he asked if I wanted to attempt sex again. (This being the third time) I said yes, but the pain was excruciating. After that things got a little awkward because I got upset and didn't want to continue what we had started. But then after a little bit of him trying to cheer me up and talking, we started messing around again. I decided we had to do it because it would hurt either way, so (without a condom) made sure we were both nice and wet and I got him in. It only hurt for a second, and then he pulled out right away, put a condom on, and we continued. No pain after that, (it actually felt kinda good) and no blood. It only lasted about a minute, but it was amazing, and I'm so so happy we can actually do it now. It made us so much closer and it wasn't awkward at all. Thank you all for your amazing support through all this and all your help :)
xoxo

I know that a few of y'all have had experience with a DVT from hbc, so I was wondering if you could share your symptoms. Thanks!
