So not directly vagina related, whatevs.

I have this small, flat area about a half inch from my anus that is like dark blue/black like a tiny bruise. It almost looks like a little blood blister and might be just slightly raised, like as much as a mole is raised from the skin or lower. It also hurts like a bruise would hurt, but I have no idea how I could have bruised myself there. I wonder if its a hemorrhoid, but I always thought those were RIGHT at the anal opening, not a half inch away. Any other ideas what it could be from? Thanks!

Hi all, I've got a question!

So, I'm 7ish weeks pregnant. I got up today to take a shower and I noticed my groin area..my outer labia to about 2 or 3 inches out onto my thighs has turned dark reddish brown (I am caucasian).

What on earth would cause this to happen so suddenly?

I am over weight, and some areas on my body, like groin but closer to my butt and underarms have been this way for quite a long time, presumably from friction..but this literally came on over night.

Is this related to pregnancy? My areola have darkened, and I'm starting to show signs of the linea nigra on my belly, but this is strange, and I didn't have this last pregnancy.

I know this darkening is common in diabetics and people with PCOS, neither of which I have.

The only thing that I can think of is I found a link online that said something about a sudden surge in insulin can cause quick darkening of skin in these areas that are commonly affected in diabetics...I have had really awful nausea this pregnancy, and all I've really been able to keep down are simple carbs, am I giving myself gestational diabetes already?

I talked to my midwife about my diet and lack of exercise, and she said not to worry about it to rest when I need to rest and eat what I can, and stay hydrated, then focus more on nutrition and fitness in the 2nd trimester. I havent spoken with her yet about the darkening.

ETA: I don't think I have a yeast infection, although it could be a possibility-- thoughts?

hi there! this s probably a silly question, but ive recently been trying to deal with blemishes due to a BC side effect and its left me with some dark spots/acne scars. im not big on hiding with makeup, so im wondering if anyone has any personal recommendations in facial moisturizers that are good for helping minimize the appearance. id like to stick with a moisturizer because i already use that daily. really trying to avoid toners/acne treatment regimens since they dont really work for me. besides, the acne part is under control! i wash my face daily with cetaphil and it has cleared up my blemishes quite well. if it helps i have sensitive skin/fair complexion. ive been looking around at different brands online but id like to get more opinions before i make the switch. thanks!

ETA: ive heard jojoba oil works well (and i already have some of that at home), but im afraid itll make my face too shiny. thoughts?

Hello!

I've been getting recurring yeast infections, and I'm getting really discouraged and frustrated.  The only symptom I have is itching.

ExpandHere's a list of the dates I've had yeast infections and what I did to treat them. )

Basically, I've had 3 yeast infections in the past 5 months, and maybe 6 or 7 in the past year and a half.  And daily mild itching for about a year.  I had never had either of those issues before.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do?  Boric acid is always suggested for yeast that doesn't respond to anything else but it's clearly not working that well for me.  (It works but then the yeast comes back.)  Should I try boric acid for more than 2 weeks?  Something else completely?

How can I get a doctor to take me seriously?  I've seen a million doctors, and they all tell me "well, you know, some people are just prone to yeast infections".  I really don't think this is normal, and I'm sick of living in fear of getting another YI.

I also am not convinced that I'm being diagnosed properly.  Is a swab really enough?  What should I do to make sure I get a real diagnosis?  I'm in Canada so if I want to see a gyno or any other specialist I need a referral.  So far doctors I've seen have tried to avoid referring me to anyone else.

What's interesting is that, as I'm treating this current yeast infection with boric acid, the other itching seems to be gone (even though I'm still feeling the yeast infection, the boric acid hasn't gotten rid of it yet).  It seems as though the boric acid brings overall improvement.  It seems that my vagina is all off balance and the boric acid is balancing it out.  How can I get my vagina balanced permanently on its own?  If the boric acid helps, what can the problem be if it's not yeast?

I know that's a lot of questions and you aren't doctors, but so far doctors have not been helping me at all.  So I'd love suggestions on what I can try or how to get some real help from a doctor.

Thanks so much!

TMI warning...
Hello to all-
I feel almost certain that my vagina must be on a mission to destroy my self esteem and confuse every doctor I have ever seen. I had a question and was wondering if maybe any others have encountered this themselves or heard of it?
I had my paraguard placed last Feb of 2011. I adore it. I couldn't take hormonal birth control so it's perfect for my body.
I hear that paraguard certainly can increase the amount of discharge you have. I even hear it can have a yellow tinge from the copper aspect of it. I go day to day and everything is fine but it seems like every few months I get a very strange discharge.
It starts watery, then it gets gooey white and now is coming out in very sticky yellowish blobs or strings that look like (pardon my TMI) elephant snot or something. I feel so gross and insecure. My period is due any second now and this has been going on for a little over a week. I went to an OBGYN and got tested for the works...BV, yeast, every STD under the sun, even a UTI. All negative of course. Still no answers. No itching. No odor.
Just the snot. So bummed out right now. Is this normal..? Can't be.
Too insecure to have sex with my boyfriend. What is this?? Help me vaginapagina members.
I need you!
