Okay, my boyfriend and I are experiencing a little doubt and worry now, and we'd really really really appreciate some quick feedback.

We had sex in the morning, where I took my HBC about 5-10 minutes before,  and he used a condom. However, when we finished, we noticed that there was less in the condom than what we're normally used to-however we were being really quick this time, so that may have affected it(?). Then, we noticed that there was a lot of fluid on me as well-this could also have been me, however, because there was a lot of foreplay and I was extremely aroused, and I do tend to have a lot of pre-cum when aroused.

Our main concern though, was when we noticed that the cum in the condom was quite, shall we say, liquidy, and that there might have been a possibility that the stuff on me was semen? So we rather freaked out. I went online and researched how to use my HBC as emergency contraceptive (Alesse), where it said to take 5 hormonal pills within 120 hours, then another 5 within 12 hours of that. So, I immediately took the remaining 4 in my pack, and will have to go to my pharmacy later today or tomorrow morning to refill my prescription and get another two packs. I'm wondering whether I should then take 5 from my new pack, and continue onwards, or whether it might be a good idea to induce my period now? I was near the end of my cycle as is. My thought is that if I induce my period now I'll know for sure whether I'm pregnant, and can avoid taking so many pills.

Thoughts would be immensely appreciated!

EDIT: Additional information I neglected to mention- I was on day 17 when I took the pill before sex, then took the remaining four (18-21) as emergency contraceptive after the freak out.

A question I meant to ask but couldn't articulate: Now that I have "finished" a pack (taken all the hormonal pills)  should I have my period now? Or, should I continue on the cycle I had before taking the 4 contraceptive pills and take a pill a day for the next four days THEN have my regular period?

I read through the memories regarding pregnancy tests, but I am still a tad confused. Sorry!

I have an app on my phone that helps me track periods and tells me when I am ovulating and such. May not be 100% accurate and I am fine with that. Recently, I stopped taking my pill due to several issues and I have scheduled an appointment to have my tubes tied at the end of October.

In the mean time, my husband and I had sex the day before my app said I would be ovulating and there was an issue with the condom and it broke. This was September 25. My period may or may not be due tomorrow. (I say this because I am no longer on my pill and unsure if my cycle will be changing so if I miss this period it could be pregnancy... or possibly a change due to stopping my pill?)

I have read you can get a positive 5 days before your missed period but that seems way too soon. That would be 10 days after conception? When I was pregnant with my daughter I got a positive at about 6 weeks into my pregnancy.. i had taken a test 3 weeks before that and it was negative.

So my question is, how long does it normally take to get a positive on a test? I have gotten negative tests (I took one 5 days before my period. I may take another today or tomorrow) but I feel exhausted. My breasts are very sore and while it is extremely mild I have been feeling nauseous. The tender breasts is what worries me but I know some people get that around their period. If I ever have before it's never been so noticeable.

I do not want to cancel my surgery if I do not have to because it took me a year to find a doctor who would tie my tubes at 23. But I am not sure how long to wait to make 100% sure I am not pregnant.

In short, whats the earliest I can test and possibly get a positive? Would it be after this missed period even though that seems so soon?

Thank you in advance!

EDIT: Thank you all for your answers. I did take one tonight and it did come up positive. Still a very faint line but positive.

HI all.  Here's the rundown:

-My last period started on Sept. 22nd.  It was no different from any other period.  It was heavy, crampy, clotty, etc.  That's basically how my period is every month. :( It lasted six days, as usual.
-I am sexually active.  I have sex almost every day.  Due to multiple reasons, I do NOT use hormonal birth control.  My boyfriend and I rely on FAM and withdrawal.  Up until this month, I have had NO trouble charting my fertility.  My basal body temp. has very, very clear shifts when I ovulate.  My pre-ovulation temp is usually around 96.8 (on the low side).  Post ovulation, my temp is around 97.5.  When we have sex before I ovulate, we use withdrawal every single time.  He withdraws well before he ejaculates, and he knows to never, ever have sex with me unless he has urinated first. :) I wait until four days of elevated temps after ovulation, at which point we no longer use withdrawal.  I've been doing this for well over a year without issue.
-I am prone to ovarian cysts that cause a lot of breast tenderness, abdominal pain, cramps, pimples, and other hormonal unpleasantness.  It's NOT PCOS that any ultrasound has ever revealed.  It seems I just get one or two larger cysts every couple of months or so.  Surprisingly, though, my period is almost always like clockwork.

This month, I noticed that my breast tenderness did not go away after my period.  I also kept on cramping through the month, getting pimples, and having lots of abdominal pain--so much so that I had to use a heating pad several times.  Also, my BBT never dropped back down.  I still felt twinges in my ovaries around day 12, but I never got the rush of cervical mucus I usually get.  I'm on day 18 of my cycle right now, and I've been crampy all day, as though I'm about to start my period.  I also went on a house cleaning frenzy (which, for some reason, I always do when my period is coming).  I just peed and when I wiped, I noticed pink tinged mucus.

Do you think I had an ovarian cyst and that it has finally burst?  My body temperature has felt totally wacked out today.  One minute I'm cold.  The next minute I'm burning up.  Then I'm shivering.  I REALLY don't think I'm pregnant, since I've been having these symptoms ever since my very heavy, very horrible period ended.  Has anyone ever had pinkish mucus after a cyst ruptures?

I'm hoping my period isn't going to come early.  It has been known to do that a few times, though.  I guess I just want reassurance that I'm probably not pregnant, and information about what it's like when other people have cysts/when they rupture.

Thanks, and sorry for the novel!

UTI :(

First UTI, ughhhh. I was diagnosed with a bladder infection, and my NP prescribed Cipro. But I have so many questions that I didn't remember to ask her :/ Maybe you guys can help me?

1) I'm supposed to take it every 12 hours, but I haven't been super precise about it (like I'll be late by like an hour or two). Is that a huge problem? Should I let my NP know?

2) Am I supposed to take it on an empty stomach? I googled, and sources say Cipro is a non-food antibiotic, but my NP never said anything about it nor is there anything indicating that on the bottle about waiting a certain number of hours after I eat.

3) Uhh, when can I HAVE SEX AGAIN? My NP was vague about it, she said "whenever my symptoms are totally gone" but I never had that many symptoms in the first place :/ I was only prescribed antibiotics for 3 days, and my third day is tomorrow... Can I give my bf some good news on Tue?

4) How the hell do I prevent this shit again, other than peeing right after sex? We always use a condom.

Can you become pregnant by the semen found on the area surrounding the penis even if its very little? Well, my problem is that after i made oral sex with my bf without a condom, we wiped his semen off his genital/pelvic area. Then we wiped an anti-bacterial gel around it and he put on a condom. After that we had sex. Is it possible to get pregnant from the minuscule semen that might have stayed around his genital area, balls, and pelvic area even though we used a condom? Thank you for answering my question!
