Hello fellow VPers! I really hope you all can help me!

Okay so here is my situation. I am currently on the NuvaRing and will be taking it out this weekend (Sunday May 8th) for my usual withdrawal bleed. I went for a consultation today to have an IUD inserted which will occur on Tuesday May 17th (so nine days AFTER I remove my ring). Now normally I would have just kept the ring in for the extra fourth week but this IS that extra fourth week so by this Sunday, there will be no hormones left. I don't have any more rings so I won't be inserting anything on the 15th when I normally would.

My question is this: I know I definitely need to use backup protection starting the Sunday the ring normally would have been inserted, but should I use it all next week as well since the sperm may survive and the lack of hormones for those couple days may let my ovaries relax enough to ovulate? Thanks!

Recently I tried mastubating for the first time (gasp!) and when I pulled my finger out it had tiny white globs on it. Not very big and they don't smell any different than how I usually smell down there and my discharge isn't a weird color but i'm still worried that this might be something bad :/ Any advice?

Hello VPers!

I have been masturbating for about 6 years with my fingers but I really want a vibe. My problem is that I live with my mom and sister and they are very against masturbating. They think it is wrong. It kind of makes me feel guilty when I do it. I guess I'm looking for some reassurance that what I'm doing isn't wrong.
Since I don't want them to know what I'm getting are there any places that will send it to you in a very discreet package?
I'm also trying to figure out what I want. I want one that vibrates but I also want to be able to use it to penetrate. Do you have any good recs? I don't really care what it's made out of. I'm also wondering if you have any good rec's for ones that are super discreet or that don't look like a vibe at all. I kind of want one that isn't so obvious in case they decide to snoop through my room.

It won't let me tag this so if the mods could help me out that would be great.

So here's the deal: I've gotten YI's before, and I know what they feel like. However, this time I have some external symptoms (under my pubic hair, which is pretty much up on top of my mons pubis and not down by my vulva) including itching and redness. However, the only thing I have going on vaginally is discharge that has increased slightly and is more yellow/tan than clear. It does smell slightly yeasty, but NO itching, burning, etc.

So.....since it isn't too intense, I was thinking of just trying plain yogurt. I assume I insert that vaginally using a clean finger and wear a pad to catch the resulting guck. I know that taking antibiotics for BV can cause yeast problems, but if this isn't a yeast infection, could I trigger BV by treating it with yogurt?

Also, I am using some miconizole cream on the mons rash and that is helping a lot.....so does that mean my discharge change is definitely yeast-related? AND (one more thing, I know) I also have a Paragard IUD (almost a year now). It has changed my discharge some (I have more/it is thicker) but it's never been this color before, so I don't think this is from the IUD.

I posted a while back about a discharge problem. You guys all said it sounded like bv. So i went to the docs last week and got swabs taken, I told the doctor about you guys and told her youre all fab! Anyways I got my results back today, all normal, no action needed.
Im wondering what happens now? Ive made another appointment to see the doc, but i have to wait a fortnight :(. She agreed that something was wrong and said she could see a lot of discharge. Im gonna go back, but I have a horrible feeling that shes gonna say the results are normal, so theres nothing we can do. I hope not, cus ive put up with this problem for long enough and I want it gone!

This is an update back to this post: http://vaginapagina.livejournal.com/19697014.html

I called Planned Parenthood and talked to them. They don't carry the type of birth control I use, but I made an appointment anyway- the soonest they had was tomorrow. So, if I go with them, I'd have to switch to a new birth control mid-trip- obviously not a good option.

I needed to go back to my doctor today anyway for a persistent sore throat and cough I've been having. I told the nurse the whole story- about my vaginismus, my asexuality, my past experiences with pelvic exams, and she passed the info on to the doctor.

He didn't budge. Still refused to prescribe refills. I broke down in the room, agreed to do the pelvic exam because I feel like I don't have a choice, and got as far as putting on the paper gown before having a complete mental meltdown in the office. I got dressed again, and refused it. A half hour of sobbing hysterically in humiliation and terror in my doctor's office, and he didn't even come to see me. Oh, but the nurse gave me a coupon for one of my presciptions to 'make me feel better'.

I still have Planned Parenthood tomorrow, but that means switching meds in the middle of my study abroad.

I'm desperate. Are there any online 'pharmacies' that will slap my name on some and send them overnight? I'll pay as much as I can. I don't even care anymore. I'm beaten down, humiliated, and desperate. I don't have anywhere else to go, a new doctor wouldn't even be able to see me in time, and I leave at 3:30am Saturday morning.

I hate doctors so much.

Edit: I didn't askt he lady on the phone with PP if they'd be able to write a prescription for the birth control I'm on; she was being rather nasty about me waiting till the last minute, even though I had no control over it. She simply said they don't have Mircette or the generic for it. Maybe they can only use in-house drugs for the HOPE program, I don't know. I hope not. I'm just so close to giving up, so close to falling back into self injury, which I have a history of. So thank you, doctors- not only are you not keeping me healthy, you're encouraging me to have depression issues all over again.

Hello !

It's been awhile since I've asked you wonderful people for help but bear with me , I need you guys again !

This morning I was having sex with my boyfriend and he was perhaps a little rough when he was putting himself in . All I know is that I felt a sharp pain where my clitoris is and I told him to be careful . He adjusted himself and off we went , no problems at all . Then afterward I noticed that the same spot hurt (same sharp pain) whenever I touch it or when it touches my underwear . I'm stuck wearing loose clothing for the time being but it's very uncomfortable . It doesn't seem to be the clitoris directly ... but somewhere near it ? I'm not too sure because I'm scared to touch it and I can't really see/tell anyway ...

It only hurts when the spot touches something , and it's the same unbearable sharp pain . I'm starting to suspect some sort of tear but there was no blood whatsoever .

If it doesn't fix itself , obviously I will locate a gynecologist somewhere near me ... but I'm really hoping it won't come to that because I'm uninsured for the time being . I will also refrain from sex until it improves .

Any light that could be shed on the matter would be very much appreciated !

Thanks !

So, I went to Babeland today and a saleswoman asked me if I had any water-based lube and I said, "I don't think so, I usually just use coconut oil" and then she said that I should stay away from oil lubes because they are prone to causing infections. I didn't think of asking about it in the moment, but now I'm wondering if this is true? I'm pretty sure she just said "oil" and wasn't responding to coconut oil specifically, but regardless, I don't think I've ever heard that water-based are "better" for you than oil-based...
