Idek ladies, but for a week I've had this itchiness on my vagina (both labias, pretty much the whole pink part). Nothing looks much different except maybe a little more on the red side. No smell or unusual discharge. It doesn't itch on the inside, just the outside. I'm on vacation so I can't see my doctor for more than a week.. anyone have any ideas? This started a few days BEFORE my vacation started.. so while I'd love to blame the water or change in toilet paper, I don't think that has anything to do with it :\

I've been using vagisil to help with the itching. This morning I was bleeding a little but no clue from exactly where. I'm 99.9% sure the slight pink blood was just because of how damn itchy I"ve been. I'm turning kinda raw.. blah. Any ideas, ladies? TIA

So I posted last week about an Ovarian cyst I had diagnosed in the ER. They weren't sure if it was hemorrhagic or an endometrioma. Well I had a follow up with my reproductive endocrinologist and she feels that it is most likely hemorrhagic and not an endometrioma, although it is fairly large for a hemorrhagic cyst (almost 5cm).  So that's good news! The bad news is that a week passed between the ER ultrasound and the reproductive endocrinologist ultrasound, and there was no change in cyst size. :-(

Anyway, I have PCOS and am not cycling regularly, so the reproductive endocrinologist feels it may be some time (up to 8 weeks) for the cyst to reabsorb. In the meantime, it hurts hurts HURTS if I don't take pain medication. Regular over the counter stuff wasn't cutting it, so they gave me Percocet, which made me useless ( I would have to sleep the first 2hrs after each dose and would wake up with a headache). Finally we've settled on Tylenol 3, which has codine in it and seems to be the best compromise.

So....my question is: Do I just take Tylenol 3 for 8 weeks? Is there anything else that people have done that has helped their cysts subside? I understand completely my doctor's perspective - she doesn't want to risk surgery if the cyst isn't damaging anything (except my quality of life!) and will likely go away on its own. On the other hand, 8 weeks is a long time not to be able to exercise or wake up without pain. :-(

Ideas?

Hey there, fellow Superstars! As you probably know, from time to time the VP Team makes posts on behalf of people who wish to remain anonymous or who do not have LJ accounts. This is one such post, and the person seems really anxious and in need of particularly special attention. Thanks in advance for your super awesome comments. :)

"I'm a 24-year-old, sexually active woman. After a routine pap smear, I got a letter from my doctor saying that it showed "low grade abnormal cells" and encouraged me to set up an appointment with the OB-GYN as soon as possible.

I am freaking. out. There's no more information on the letter relating to the pap smear, and the student health center is closed for the weekend, so I can't get any more information that way. In addition to this being a pretty nerve-wracking situation, I also have an anxiety disorder on top of things, so I'm sitting here with my heart racing, crying, sure that I am going to faint or vomit or something. I guess I'm just looking for words of advice or comfort or wisdom or experience or something."

Hey VP,
I posted a couple of days ago asking about what to do after missing three pills in a row at the start of the pack. I was advised that after taking seven pills I'd be back on track....so I took the first of that seven last night.
Well, my boyfriend came over tonight and we had sex. He always pulls out no matter what, and we used the pull out method as our only method of contraception for the first three months we were dating until I went on the pill, so I wasn't worried.
But because luck is never on my side, of course tonight he didn't get fully "out" in time....I'm not sure how much actually stayed inside of me.

What do you think I should do? Get Plan B?
And if I take Plan B, what do I do with my BC pills...just keep taking them as normal?

I've never had this much trouble with pills before ever....it's not my week. I swear I'm a consenting adult with a functional (ish) brain!

Itchy!

My vulva has been really really itchy for about the past month or so, with some days it not being itchy but most days there is some degree of itchiness. I went and got checked for yeast infections, BV, syphilis, gonorrhea, and I think chlamydia, and as far as I know they all came up negative, since it's been 14 days and I haven't heard from them. The itching is primarily around my inner labia and the entrance to my vagina. It does not go away after a shower, so I don't think it's strictly hygiene related. I also noticed that it and my lack of natural lubrication started happening at about the same time. basically it feels like I have a dried up, itchy vagina! Any suggestions? This is really frustrating not only because of the itch but because I'm not nearly as able to get wet as I have been up until a few months ago.
