Hello friends! Long story short: because of a screw-up with re-ordering my birth control pills (Yaz) through the mail instead of refilling them at a local pharmacy like I usually do, I finished my pack last night and will not have a new one to start until some time later in the week.
My question is: is this terribly bad? I'm not sexually active right now, so I'm not worried about that, but is there anything else I should be worried about? Also, when I start the new pack, should I do it on the day that I get it, or wait 'til the next Sunday, since that's when I usually start?

So last night I was engaging in relations, and I have to say I was really enjoying myself. However, there came a point where I realized that both of my arms were beginning to go tingly below the elbow, down into my hands, almost to the point where the muscles in my hands were somewhat locked up and stiff. I know it might be kind of a stretch to assume this is vagina related, but I thought it might have had something to do with increased blood pressure and all that. I wasn't/I'm not really worried about it; mostly I'm just curious. I've heard of toes and feet going numb and tingly, but never arms and hands. Has anyone else ever experienced this? Should I be worried?

Has anyone tried menstrual cups and had them not work out? What was the problem?

My urethra gets irritated easily, and I feel like my vagina is not the biggest. I'm completely baffled as to how anyone fits a smaller-size Instead where it needs to go. (I know cups are not the same as Insteads).

I'm trying to do my vagina a favor by not keeping it full of tampons 6 days a month, but I keep putting off investing in a cup because I worry I'm going to be one of the unlucky ones.

What significance does taking hormonal birth control, or female hormones for the purpose of bodily transformation, too, have on the risk of developing various feminine cancers in general, and specifically, within individuals who already are at high genetic risk of developing them?

I've always gotten wishy-washy answers on this from various doctors, I don't think it comes up pretty often. But, seeing as I very likely have the Jewish BRCA2 mutation (My grandmother's sister was tested positive for this, and my maternal family all the way up to my mother is rank with feminine tumours, both benign and malignant) and I don't want to have children, I want to know if taking anything hormonal is dumb. I don't want to take anything hormonal anyway, because I'm a little on the androgynous side, and very comfortable with being so. (IE, I don't want to grow boobs and hips!) So I'm mostly just pondering this out of interest, and figured other people who are more interested in HBC might benefit from discussing it, too.

Hi, sorry if this has been asked before. I looked through the tags and FAQs and couldn't find anything, and Google is of no help.

I've been on Desogen for about four months. I am supposed to start the inactive week today, but I really don't want to have my period this coming Saturday (long story). I tend to have a long period, so I know if I go through the whole inactive week I will probably still be bleeding by the weekend.

Is it possible/safe to shorten my period by cutting the inactive week short? Say, taking 3 or 4 days of the inactive pill then starting my new pack a few days early? Or would it be safer to just skip my period entirely and start my next pack today? I know it's safe to do this, but the idea of skipping my period entirely still kind of freaks me out :\

 hello all!

so I have a wonderfully infected toe (yum) and I got some antibiotics last saturday.
it's a ten day cycle of apo-cephalex (500mg) cephalexin (and I'm on alesse if that matters)
and the wednesday before I got the antibiotics I ended my pack (on to my placebos), had my withdrawal bleed, yadda yadda
I started my new pack just this past thursday,

I've searched through entries and tags, etc, and people were mentioning something about starting a new pack then being covered. since mine's kinda inbetween I'm just a bit confused

I also gathered that antibiotics don't completely completely mess up hbc in most cases, but the doctor told me to use extra protection during (check!) and for THIRTY DAYS (!!) after. I don't know if I misheard her or not, but that sounds a bit much! any thoughts?

I mean obviously if I have to or if it's wise to use backup for a month after I will, but I just started having sex (oh, did I mention that? woo hoo!) and I'd really like to enjoy the spontaneity of not having to worry about condoms all the time.

thank you thank you! you're all so wonderful
