Hey.
I was just curious who here has had a hysterosonogram? My gynecologist set up an appointment for me to have one because a CT scan picked up that I had a cyst on my left ovary with the left ovary being enlarged. They also saw that I have a bicornuate uterus/heart shaped uterus (though I already knew that from CT scans in the past).
I have no idea why he rushed into me wanting to have a hysterosonogram. Actually, at first he wanted me to have laparoscopy because he thinks I *could* have endometriosis. But then he decided against the laparoscopy and decided on the hysterosonogram.
I should have asked him why not just do a transvaginal ultrasound because that can see a cyst on an ovary fine from everything I've read/heard. And supposedly it can see the shape of the uterus fine as well.
For those of you who have had a hysterosonogram, is it REALLY painful? I read that it can be painful but only for a short time while they are putting the saline solution in your uterus, etc... And also, did any of you get an infection from having it done? I read that it has a small chance of causing an infection and I am not sure that's a good idea with my immune system the way it is.
Thanks!
