Hello VP'ers...I looked back through some archives and the tags and couldn't really find anything on this (though if I somehow missed it please feel free to direct me!) so I was wondering if any of you could give me some information based on personal experiences.

I found out today that I need to have a cone biopsy done on my cervix to find out what's going on up in there. A few weeks ago I had an abnormal pap; they did a colposcopy and it came back that all three biopsies from the outside of my cervix were normal, but they found something suspicious in the scraping they got from inside my cervix. Unfortunately, they didn't have a good enough sample (not enough/was falling apart) to determine what it actually is-dysplasia or cancer. So, today my doctor did two more scrapings from inside my cervix to be sent off for another biopsy and she tentatively scheduled me for a cone biopsy on October 19th.

So, I'm just kind of wondering what to expect. My doctor said its slightly more involved than a LEEP (which I was supposed to have this Thursday and have had before) and that it will take me more time to heal. She said there will be more bleeding, more cramping, and that it'll take roughly eight weeks to heal.

What have been your experiences? Is it painful? Tons of bleeding? How long before you were feeling "normal" again? Are there any limits on lifting/exertion/exercise?

Thank you all in advance for any input!

Ok so stupid question I'm sure buuuut.

I've been on the pill for 5 years. I never can remember when I normally get darker discharge.

Today is day 3 of my 2nd week of pills (I'm on ortho tri cyclen). Earlier I went to the bathroom and there was just a tiiny bit of pinkish discharge on my liner. Haven't had sex in around 2 months. Normal period last cycle.

Is it normal-ish to have a bit of light pinkish colored discharge around your 2nd week of pills?

Is there any way to get your vulva to sort of... bounce back faster? I always have a kinda unpleasant smell after periods, and it takes a few days to almost a week after the end of my period to get back to normal. I've never used any soaps or douches or anything because I know vulvas are self cleaning and all, but is there anything I can do to get it back to normal faster? I don't like having almost two weeks a month of no action time :(

I posted here last month I think about a few things, birth control and whatnot but also about missed period.. I took a pregnancy test and it was negative, and I also had a pregnancy test at planned parenthood in August because I was getting new birth control and I skipped my period in July so they just wanted to make sure.

Anyhoot, I was on Loestrin fe24 until this past month I am on the generic Junel Fe (with 21 active pills), and I still haven't gotten my period this month (its 4 days into my inactive week), and I am worried!! I haven't had a period since June. I have taken every pill on time except one I took about 10 hrs late but I didn't have sex for 4 days after. I do not use condoms, and have sex about once or twice a week.. I am probably going to buy another pregnancy test and whatnot but I just don't understand! The past 2 months I had taken tests and they were negative but should I be concerned?

Also has anyone else taken Junel/Loestrin and had very vivid dreams? O_O!

<3 thanks

For the past five-ish years, I've been using the Pill. I've used Diane, Yasmin, Microgynon-30 and I'm currently on Microgynon-50. In terms of stopping me falling pregnant, they have been fine. No babies to date! However, one draw back all four of these have had is that I have little to no sex drive. My partner and I have had a few problems with this- we both want to have sex, but I just can't get my vagina in the mood, so to speak. So I've been looking into a few other forms of HBC. I've had good things about the Nuvaring, and I just have a few questions. Obviously I plan to ask my doctor some of these questions, but I want to hear personal stories, too.

Thanks for the answers!

Cramps?

I've been having cramps throughout my whole cycle this month and I don't know why. I always get them a couple days before my period but I'm not due for mý period for 10 days. I'm scared and I don't know what it could be. I have been exercising everyday which I hadn't been doing before so I figured that was it. Can anyone shed some light on the subject? I'm really nervous. I also just got over being pregnant 3 months ago if that makes a difference. Please help!

I apologize for posting to the comm so often. I feel like I'm abusing your guys' awesome knowledge, so I'm sorry, but my university clinic is closed and I have a question regarding taking BC.

So I'm on Junel, I took a couple of months off to see if it was causing my YIs and my current issues that apparently aren't YIs and no one knows what is wrong with me (siiigh). So I decided that since nothing happened after going off of them, I'd rather just go back on birth control to at least ease my mind about the whole not getting pregnant thing. The thing is, I'm pretty sure I ovulated, so obviously we're still using condoms and withdrawal. But my question is:

I'm still going to get a real period, because I ovulated, right? So what happens when I start the placebo week? Is there a chance I'll ovulate again or will it just be withdrawal bleeding? Should I just stack my pills and deal with the hormone overload?

Also, I'm starting to think I've been freaking out for nothing re: discharge. I've been browsing tags and recent discharge posts and I'm not having other symptoms. I feel completely fine. I was mostly freaking out, because randomly my discharge has been greenish-yellow and clumpy or clear and clumpy if I insert my finger or something else. As long as I don't have symptoms I'm ok, right?

Thank you so very, very much. You are a fantastic group!

Hi, Vulva-ers. First time posting. Long story short, I started a period in early September, I think around the 2nd. It lasted for 15 days, ending finally on the 17th. This was a long, somewhat heavy period with no cramping whatsoever, which is incredibly rare for me. On September 29, I had another period. This one ended this past Sunday, October 3 and brought with it bad crmaping and extremely heavy blood flow.

Both periods have been heavy, the second more so than the first. During the 2 week period, I had a bit of tissue come out, but comparing it to posts on this community of pictures of uterine lining, I've just assumed that's all it was. Uterine lining. It looked weird and I flushed it and moved on. Both periods have been actual periods, not just light spotting. Clots have come out, and it all just looks like blackberry jam.

I last had sex on August 22. I usually use NuvaRing for HBC, and in preparation for that night, inserted the NuvaRing and let it brew for 7 full days before I had sex with the boyfriend. Boyfriend is now in China for 10 months and, well, there's no reason for me to be on BC now that he's gone, so I haven't been using it.

I haven't taken a pregnancy test, but feel a nagging that I need to. I just feel like I should have one, to be sure, because I am paranoid like that. I'll have to stop by a clinic nearby to have one run quickly.

Also, in July, I had laparascopy for endometriosis and scar tissue (this is my second laparascopy and last year I had an ovary removed. Yay).

1. I recently had my insurance changed over from my father's plan where everything is affordable to a new plan that screws everyone over at $300 a month, plus costs of doctor visits and whatnot. They cover basically the gas to get to my appointments and to pay for my appointments, my father and I have to scrimp and save. I cannot afford to see my gynecologist, nor pay any fees to get checked out at a clinic (all I can afford is a free pregnancy test). I'm seeing my GP for migraine treatment and had an MRI yesterday so that's about $300 there which we can't afford.

2. Why the stupid double periods? My vagina hates me.

3. Could I be pregnant? I realize it's a silly question but am curious as to whether anyone else has experienced random periods while they were pregnant. Watching "I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant" has me more paranoid than usual.

4. Thank you for reading through all this. I'd just like any comments or thoughts as to why my vagina seems to be trying to...rebel? It's very frustrating.
