This has happened at least three times: When my boyfriend pulls out after sex, the condom will still be inside me. Enough of it is out to pull and not spill any sperm, so I'm not worried about getting pregnant like that (plus I just had my period). I just find it weird that it happens. Has this happened to anyone else? Any tips to keep it from happening? Curious

Dear VP,

I have been having aching pain in the right side of my back, specifically located behind my bellybutton but about an inch or two from my spinal cord radiating to my right side. My assumption due to internet research and "intuition" is kidney related pain. Also, I didn't start feeling this type of pain until i began taking the monophasic pill, Lutera which was 6 months ago and I've been having this pain since then.

It hurts when I wake up in the morning or if i hold my urine in or sometimes after i urinate. Also at night, I've been having to wake up every 2 - 3 hours to urinate (although this could be due to increase liquid intake, but I never had to go so often at night before). Additionally, if I drink with my friends and have 3 cocktails or so ( i know not healthy) the next day I feel this pain, which I never noticed before). Sometimes it feels worse than other days and sometimes it feels like its not their, but I also try to pretend its not their so I'm not really sure if its there all the time or not.

I am a  relatively healthy person and don't have any medical conditions other than this one that are alarming, nor do i take prescription medications or over the counter drugs other than my birth control pill.  Also, I did take the birth control pilll for five years and recently stopped about 3 years ago before starting again 6 months ago, however at the time I took the triphasic Ortho Tricyclen Lo.

My questions are:

1) Could this pain and perhaps kidney infection/disease be caused by Lutera?

2) Could this be anything serious?

3) Has anyone else experienced this?

4) Should I go to a Planned Parenthood (I'm afraid I'll get an appointment but they won't be able to do anything about it since I've never heard of them offering services of this type, but I do get my birth control pills here) or should I go to my family practitioner (I don't have health insurance anymore as my job does not offer it and would rather not tell my family about my pain or the pill)?

Sincerely,

In Pain & Worried

Hello all!

Just a quick question here.  :-)  I came off NuvaRing in October and haven't been active since then, but my bleeding has been weird.  It has been far from regular (which I know is normal for the first little while) and has never been as bright or heavy as it used to be before going on BC in August of last year.  I have been away for 3 months, (albeit in a rather crazy time as a counselor at camp, so the stress level was somewhat high) and I bled a week after I got there, and then not at all until a week before I left.  That's 2 1/2 months with no blood, and this last 'period' was just 3 days of extraordinarily light, very old blood.  Then the past few days I've left my menstrual cup in and I've collected weird white-ish granules of gook which look somewhat akin to what you get with a YI, but not, because none of the other symptoms are there.  It's weird.

So my question to you is: Does this seem normal?  Shouldn't my periods be equalizing by now?  Before going on BC, my blood was thick, and bright red, and normal, and this is kind of weirding me out.  Thougths?

TIA!

Hey VPers,

I've been feeling nauseous for the past few days, and it's worrying me. I have been on Tri-Sprintec birth control for over a year, and I have never felt any nausea, save for when I first started the pill. I am normally a strict pill-taker, but since I was away from my boyfriend for over a month, I got a little sloppy. From mid-June to late July I took all of my pills within a two-hour time frame every day. I also took one pill 12-15 hours late during this time, but that was it.

I saw my boyfriend July 28th-August 9th, and we had sex daily with no other form of protection. (During this time and the week prior, I was really strict about taking my pill at the same time each day.) My withdrawal bleed started August 12th. Is this indication enough that there's no way I am pregnant?

I've also noticed an increase in appetite this week. (I do occasionally notice that my appetite increases during my 3rd week of active pills, but I don't recall this ever occurring during my placebo week - which ends tonight.)

I leave for Europe to study abroad in several days, and I'm fretting over the thought/possibility of being pregnant. Is it totally unlikely? I realize that I'm probably worrying for no reason, and I don't THINK I'm pregnant, but can anyone offer me some re-assurance/peace of mind? This nausea thing is really throwing me off.

Thanks in advance.

At the moment, I only have Vaseline in the house. Stores, currently closed. But, the dildo I have is cyberskin. I was wondering if it'd harm the dildo if I used vaseline for lube.

Hey girls,

I've already read the FAQ here and countless other google search results but nothing is helping me! For months now I've gotten a yeast infection after every single period. It usually happens in the first week after my period. I don't always have the intense itching and burning but I always have the smell and discharge. I am on the pill (a generic version of Loestrin 24fe) so I guess that could be causing it but I was on the pill for a year before I got any yeast infections. I'm away at college and unfortunately can't get home to see my gyno about it but how can I stop these YIs from happening EVERY month?!?? I'm just worried about any long-term damage that can happen (not to mention how uncomfortable it is). I was wondering if you guys knew any ways to cure the actual infection instead of just the symptoms. Thanks so much in advance

Hi everyone,

This morning when I was in the shower and getting dressed I kept noticing a smell that was almost like cat urine. I drove myself crazy trying to find the source, I thought maybe my cat had peed in my laundry and it was coming from my clothes. Well I just went to the bathroom and while peeing discovered that the smell was coming from my vagina. Soo, wtf?

This is really unsettling and embarrassing. I've never had this happen before and I haven't been doing anything different than I usually do... I eat well, have good hygiene, etc. My boyfriend and I had unprotected sex a few times recently which is the only thing I can think of? I am totally at a loss and not sure what to do. I plan on scheduling an appointment to get it checked out as soon as I can, but I figured I'd post here just to maybe put my mind at ease until then.

And for further clarification, I am on the pill - ortho novum, and I take 20mg of citalopram daily, just in case that might matter. And I have had a yeast infection before, and this is not a yeast infection.

Any ideas? :/ Sorry for posting under a puppet account but I am (understandably, I hope) embarrassed. Thanks in advance.
