I've posted about this before and everyone was absolutely baffled at the idea of an in-office hysteroscopy. Well, anyway, mine is scheduled for Thursday. They said that I will only feel mild, menstrual-like cramps. I also have Ativan due to a panic disorder so I'll take that before I go. Has anyone had this before? What should I expect? I'm very scared. I'm only 19!

I have vaginismus, which has made me unable to ever complete a pelvic exam. I had no fear before my first pelvic exam, but it hurt and the doctor didn't stop when I asked her to and handled me very roughly. Repeated attempts by many different doctors to do a pelvic exam on me has now resulted in me becoming incredibly anxious whenever I'm in a gynecologists office or any similar clinical setting.

I've gone to sex therapists, a pelvic pain specialist and various gynos - the sex therapists had either never heard of vaginismus or assumed I must be uneducated and repressed, the pelvic pain specialist said he didn't deal with problems that were 'in people's heads' and the last gyno I went to referred me back to that same pelvic pain specialist and said she won't give me another script for HBC (which I take to regulate my period) unless I got an exam.

My mother thinks that if I take a Valium or something similar before getting an exam, it would stop the muscle spasm and get rid of my anxiety. Then, once I had a few non-painful pelvic exams, the reflex would cease and I would be fine. My last gyno said drugging me wasn't going to help, but never gave any suggestions as to what might (other than to start meditating and take fish oil to stop my obviously intense anxiety about everything; of course I seemed anxious, she only ever saw me when I was sitting on an exam table!).

What do you think? I'm at the end of my rope here. I'm 23 years old and want to take care of myself, but I can't complete a pelvic exam. I've tried doing Kegels and I can't find a sex therapist who would instruct me in the use of dilators and don't think I could do it without help.

Is it safe on Yaz to have 7 placebo pills instead four or would I have major breakthrough bleeding if I did that? Or should I just stick to the 4 placebo pills?

hey everyone,

i posted i think about a week ago with some questions about a yeast infection that seemed like i was having pink tinged discharge. now i am bleeding....not enough to warrant actually wearing a tampon, but enough that a pantyliner is needed and probably needing to be changed once a day...

backstory:

diagnosed with a sinus infection 2 weeks ago. prescribed amoxicillin 2x/day for 10 days (my last pill was last friday). Last thursday i started experiencing all the characteristics of a yeast infection, and bought monistat 3. took each one, yeast infection is gone. no more burny, no more itchy!

but now...i'm spotting? i'm bleeding thats for sure, and its not a full on period. i'm on BCP and should be expecting my withdrawl bleed next thursday.

could the antibiotics and the YI cause me to have my period early? i don't think i'm pregnant at all, as the last time my bf and i had sex was the...beginning of april maybe and i had my period since then. (april 15th). i'm just curious because its pretty annoying, and i'd like to know if anyone else has experienced this.

Hello everyone, i'm new :] Hopefully you guys can offer some piece of mind before I lose my mind!

I had my son 6 months ago, but for a few weeks i've had some soreness in my ovaries and below my belly button, a tiny bit of cramping but mostly just soreness. Not constant, but maybe a couple times a day. No bleeding or anything. The reason I am freaking out is because my mom passed away in February from sarcoma in her uterus and I am terrified of getting sick now.

I had a gyno appointment yesterday and he said everything looked okay, my pallop is gone, etc. He scheduled me for an ultrasound Monday to make sure there is nothing in my uterus or ovaries, just as a precaution because of what happened to my mom.

People that i've talked to have said that your body isn't fully back to normal after having a baby for a while. But this has not stopped me from freaking out. I spend about 70% of my day being afraid of getting sick, which is really really sad.

Anyway, do you think this is normal? Feedback would be wonderful.

Hey VaginaPagina, I have a question.

It involves burning. )

It is likely that I had a minor tear and the itch was a scab which, when washed off, left an open wound that I'm irritating every time I pee? Like I said, it's all I can think of.

not entirely vagina related, i do apologize!

at the end of the month (the 28th to be exact) i will be getting a barium enema done to (hopefully) diagnose some lower stomach pains i've been suffering from for a few years now.
while i'm looking forward to hopefully getting my stomach issues figured out from this test, i am completely and totally terrified.

i sort of know what's involved. i've never had anything of this type done to me before, though and was hoping for some personal experiences/encouragement.
