for the first time in about three years...

god my vulva hurts.

on the other hand, it means the whole sex-bike thing is even more accurate... cause having sex after a long dry spell also leaves me with this lovely bruising/aching feeling.

other than anything cold i can find and tylenol, is there anything i can really do to make it feel better? :(

oh, and anyone have solutions for PREVENTING this pain?!

I've been on HBC for a year and a half and its doing wonders for me. It's greatly reduced the severity of my cramps and I'm no longer hemorrhaging for 10 days. However, my boyfriend likes to constantly remind me of how "unnatural" it is and how its wreaking havoc on my body. He keeps giving me "information" he heard on Dr. OZ or on the internet such as "birth control causes brain aneurysms" or "it makes you infertile when your older." No matter what I say and no matter how many facts I give him, he's not convinced that it's safe for me to use. I'm so sick of having to defend myself when he brings up what Dr. OZ said (because, you know, that's a very credible source) and I was wondering if anyone had any advice, or anything i could show him that would help him understand that it has significant benefits and that it's SAFE to use?

I found what appears to be irritation from shaving (or possibly rough sex) on my outer labia, but I'm worried it might be genital warts. I had unprotected sex in mid-December, but had a screening done shortly thereafter which came back negative. I've been having unprotected sex with the guy I'm currently seeing and he says he's STI/STD-free. However, I know guys can't be tested for HPV and I'm just.. worried.

I'm almost straight screwed because I just got divorced, and have no Tricare benefits and I'm not back on my mom's insurance yet. Oh, and there's no Planned Parenthood around here (the closest one is in Atlanta - almost an hour away). I just called the health clinic and they told me the earliest appointments they have are in March, but I can try to do a walk in appointment on Monday, which I'm going to do.

Any words of wisdom/advice/comfort?

Indirectly vagina related?

1) My first questions on porn. Men/bisexual ladies have Suicide Girls, Burning Angel, etc. for their 'alternative looking' porn so I was wondering if there were any thing like that in terms of 'alternative looking'  guy porn for those of us into mainly heterosexual porn. I know of Rob Rotten and I enjoy his mixing porn up with punk and horror films but I was wondering if anyone knows of anything else like this out there? Cause sometimes hes kind of laughable...and also boring when that's all you've got.

2) Question two, I'm looking to get my first fancy vibrator to use with my husband and alone. My friend recommended this one http://www.rabbitvibratorsrabbitvibrators.com/html/eroticecstasyflickeringbunny.html as the best shes ever used (and after having used TONS of different kinds, I trust her judgment) and I do love all the features this one looks to have -the beads on the track, the separate clit stimulator, the size, the shape, the nubs but of course with my luck, its discontinued! Does anyone know of any place that's still selling this model or of anything that's super close to it?

Any points in the right direction are strongly appreciated! Thanks!

I'm supposed to be documenting all my symptoms and doctors visits for the last year, after being diagnosed with probable PID. I went to the doctor with 'pelvic symptoms' 4-6 times between July and now, but it wasn't exactly pain, more like a weird pulling feeling now and again (which I understand can indicate PID and mentioned to my GP who told me it was nothing) and this sort of weird feeling where I imagine my ovaries/fallopian tubes are, not pain but a weird pinchy feeling or very slight tenderness. I've had doctors pushing on my abdomen since last July and honestly, none of it hurt. I either felt nothing or it felt a bit weird. The couple of times I had significant discomfort, my GP told me that was my bowel she was poking, and that I was probably constipated (she was right) but my bowel isn't on both sides of my abdomen and these pains are. Does anyone have any idea of what these weird feelings might be? I have constant IBS symptoms, so it's really hard to tell if if it's pelvic or bowel related most of the time.

Also, it is normal for your cervix to be very sore or tender during exams? I don't remember if I asked that question here (I'm sure I did at some stage!) but the doctors and nurses I saw told me it wasn't unusual. My cervix apparently lies at a strange angle (sort of pointing downwards, from what I understand) and it takes some time and poking around and several changes of speculum to find it which is stressful and very uncomfortable for me. I don't remember it ever being quite as excruciating as last week when they suspected PID, but it's always been very sore.

I was mostly wondering if you have a landing strip, how wide is it? I have kept a landing strip for a while but today I was like huh, I wonder if this is what most other people do? So yeah, how wide... an inch, half inch, 2 inches...?

Hi there;

So, I'm 16, I got my first period at 12 and have had horrible cramps since then.
It's difficult defining pain in words, isn't it? But I mean horrible like the first day I can't go to school or anywhere because I feel like crap. Like if my favourite actor/singer came to the city and I had backstage tickets I'd tell them to f-off because I don't feel like moving.

I think it's a bit beyond "normal" cramping.
I dunno, most of my friends don't even need taking ONE painkiller; some need to take them but carry on with their life. I know there are other people who have it worse than me; but I still wonder if I shouldn't go see a gyn or something.

What do you think, I'm overreacting or what? I only wish I didn't have to PLAN beforehand not to have anything important on THE day because I know I will be dying (luckily I'm super regular).

I've gotten to the point that having my period scares me.

My mom (who is a doctor) thinks I fake and that my "problem" is psycologhical and I have to get over it and do normal things. My friends are totally sure I fake in order to miss school (I wonder what they say when I miss going to cool places, then). So, I don't really have a lot of support, do I?

What do you think people?

ps: I apologise for the bad grammar; I feel like crap so I'm not paying that much atention to my English (which isn't my first language to start with)

I'd like to be feeling happier about my period than I am right now, so I thought I'd try to come up with things about it that I like. This is where I need help. So far I've got:
1) I like that it comes reasonably regularly and/or that FAM lets me predict that so I can plan accordingly.

2) I like that I will never, ever mistake one of my periods for implantation or decidual bleeding. (Which is probably a more specific variation on the, "It lets me know I'm not pregnant!" idea.)

3) I like that I have a built-in excuse for continuing to experiment with different menstrual products. I can indulge my vagina geek (when my wallet allows) in order to perpetually try to find something with a higher capacity.

4) I'm glad I finally have enough cloth pads to do menstrual laundry at my convenience. I am also amused that when I put them in the washer to soak, it looks like I'm cleaning up after a murder scene.

5) I like that my students discovered I was on my period by finding my Thermacare heat patch box and seeing my TENS unit, rather than by, say, seeing my bag of bloody pads and asking, "Miss, is this why you're such a bitch lately?"
What about other folks? What are some good things about your periods?

Hey all,

A woman I go to school with is going through some hell right now. She's been bleeding (alike a 'period' bleed) since September/October, and it's now January. She just went to her doctor on the 11th and he doesn't know what it could be (I'm thinking there could be a language barrier, they are both spanish/hispanic and the translation/communication might not be the best, but that's neither here nor there).

Has this happened to anyone else/does anyone else have any insight I could offer her? I suggested going on birth control (or a form of it) to regulate her periods, but she is an overweight woman and said that it won't work beacause of how overweight she is.

I was thinking - would lowering the estrogen in her body help? Or, would that be a good place to start? I was thinking if she got literature/ideas she could take them to her doctor and/or the clinic to talk to him about doing..

She's around 28/30, I think..Might be younger. She has a son, he will be 2 in July (so he's like a year and a half now), and she did mention that the placenta had to be removed manually.

ANY IDEAS?

Thanks in advance, you all rock.

i didn't know where else to go for this question; google isn't helping too much. i figure this might be the place to get some less confusing information.
