Sore spot

To get straight to the point, I have a small spot on the inside of my labia. At first I could feel it there and checked it out but it was the same colour as the rest of that area so I didn't worry much. However, a few days later and it still hasn't gone.

I wouldn't be that concerned except it's sore now. It doesn't hurt unless I touch it. It's about a centimetre above the clitoris, a little to the right. I haven't had sex for two months and that was with a woman so I think it's unlikely (if not impossible) that it's some kind of STI. Could anyone reassure me that it's just a random spot and will go away? Or should I go to the doctor?

For about 3 months during the summer I dealt with what I assume was BV. Itchiness, yellow discharge, fishy smell, burny/painful sex. When I came back home after spending the summer with my boyfriend, it seemed to gradually go away on its own. However, I don't think everything down there is entirely back to normal. For one, I don't seem to have ever reacquired my normal scent. I've still got a rather strong smell going on, though nothing fishy. I've been having some mild itchiness on and off, too. I suspect it's a pH sort of issue rather than yeast, but I don't know.

I'm leaving to visit my boyfriend again in a week and I would really like to have any issues cleared up before then, as I'm afraid sex will only worsen things. I want to try a vinegar or peroxide douche, but, despite having read many success stories here, I'm afraid of throwing things more out of whack than they already are. I was thinking about using one or the other and then inserting some plain yogurt after waiting a bit. Any thoughts or experiences?

Orgasms

Hey everyone,

I'm 20 and have been masturbating pretty regularly since I was 13 or 14, so sex and orgasms are nothing new for me. For various reasons (including a septate hymen that is still intact), penetration has never been a significant part of my sexual activities, both solo and with others. I've found my g-spot before, but that only makes things marginally more intense -- it isn't as amazing as it's usually described. Even when it isn't painful, penetration doesn't seem to do much for me -- in fact, I can count the number of times I've orgasmed while being penetrated on one hand. (heh)

Today, for the first time, my partner was able to make me orgasm while penetrating me (one finger) -- this was the first time it's ever happened with someone who wasn't me. The orgasm didn't feel different from orgasms I have from clitoral stimulation alone, which was also involved today. Afterwards, we discussed how my vaginal walls don't tighten and spasm as seems typical (both based on our sexual experiences and what we know of others') -- in fact, if whether I was orgasming was based solely off of what was going on in my vagina, there would be no way to tell. I had observed this previously while masturbating, but thought that it might be different with someone else involved.

So, vagpag -- has anyone else noticed something similar? I'm not terribly worried about it, but I'm rather curious -- surely, there must be a reason out there somewhere!

ETA: Another thought -- I Kegel a few times a week and use a Diva Cup, so I know that my Kegels function and such.

Okay.. I'm freaking out a little bit.

I had sex with a guy last night. We didn't use a condom, but he said he had an STD test a month ago. I'm not worried about pregnancy because I have an IUD. Now I'm just freaking out thinking "what if?" He's in the Army and I know how they keep up with their soldiers - they won't allow you to deploy without having your wisdom teeth removed. They're serious about the health of their soldiers.

Can someone ease my mind? A little? Or did I really screw up?

So, apparently I am condemned to a life of this, as no matter how many times I go to the doctor and get tests, it never gets sorted out.As I posted recently, I thought I had a yeast infection a couple months back and treated it with OTC medication. This seemed to work, but then not even a week later I needed to go on antibiotics for a tooth infection, and all the itching and swelling came back. I went to the doctor, as I wanted to confirm that it was a YI and not something else, but she didn't even take a look and just gave me a prescription for more yeast medication. So again I took it, and things appeared to settle down, but then a few days ago, started up AGAIN. I went to the doctor again, as I also had some abdominal pain which concerned me (although I suffer from IBS so it's hard to know if it's that or something else). She told me it was probably another YI, but she also took a low vaginal swab (which I understand isn't as useful as a high vaginal swab) and told me to call in a week for results. I did take the YI medication but as yet it hasn't made any difference. I was now worried about BV and whatever else, so I'm seeing the nurse tomorrow for more swabs. What should I say/ask? I just feel like I'm not being taken seriously. And now because I took the stupid YI medication (pessary + cream) a few days ago, I'm afraid it will corrupt the swabs. Ai ai ai.

Sorry for whining. But this will be about the 9th set of vaginal swabs/exam this year. I'm so drained and tired of it all. It is not normal. I've had the same boyfriend for over a year, have had very few partners, always use condoms and had a full STD screening in January which was all clear. What the hell is going on.

[note: "you" in this post refers to me, the poster, not you, the reader, although the information is here for your reference.]

DO
  • be fearless
  • be casual
  • wash your pads with your other clothes
  • proselytize to friends where comfortable

DON'T
  • soak your pads separately. it will make them stink.
  • stick a pad inside your panties without fastening it into a liner and expect it not to fall out of your pants while you are being vigorously active in a social environment. (nobody said anything lololololololol)

So, I think I'll be telling him on Tuesday night that I have HPV because I want it off my conscience (it's been driving me to tears when I'm left to myself to think about it) and I want to sleep with him. So far he has risen above my expectations in every capacity so I'm hoping for the best in this situation. I'm trying to arm myself with facts that could put his mind at ease. Here's what I have so far:

- I won't be having anal sex with him, so chances of anal cancer are near 0%.
- You can't get cervical cancer because you don't have a cervix.
- 75-80% of sexually active people get it in their life.
- Men usually get rid of the virus after 6 months, if they have a healthy immune system.
- Only 1 in 100,000 men get penile cancer from it.
- Using a condom prevents contracting the disease up to 70%.
- I'm not sure if I even still have it because I haven't been tested for it since the summer.

Anything else I can tell him? I'm still pretty sure that I'll end up in tears when I tell him, but...

I'm a virgin but I recently started fooling around a bit with this guy who is not a virgin. He stayed over from Tuesday to Thursday, during which there was much fingering and some oral sex. Thursday morning I woke up feeling kind of itchy, but figured it would eventually go away. It's Sunday and it definitely, definitely hasn't gotten better. I've never ever been itchy like this before. At first I was scratching so hard I think I made myself bleed, but since then I've been trying to stop. Pressing a cold washcloth up against my vagina helps for a bit, but the itching does eventually come back.

The itchiness is mainly focused in the area between my clitoris and urethra, although both can start itching if I scratch a bit. If I rub at my clitoris to relieve the itching, the tip gets VERY red and inflamed. I've noticed some swelling of my inner lips as well, close to the vaginal opening.

I figure I have thrush or some kind of yeast infection. I wanted to get Monistat but they all suggested I see a doctor first (I don't have any doctors nearby, all my doctors are at home, a 3 hour drive away that I won't be making until Thursday).

Anyway! My question is: I bought Vagisil Satin anti-itch creme but it says it's for external use only. What exactly is external? Can I use it on the area that actually itches, around my urethra? Can I go and get one of those Monistat treatments despite not being diagnosed?

ETA: Thanks for the comments everyone! I went ahead and used the Vagisil where I needed it. It stung for a while but when it FINALLY worked, I've been itch-free for hours. Except now I feel like I have a mild UTI coming on (pressure in my bladder that feels like urgency--I get this often) but at least I don't want to tear my vagina off of my body anymore. :P

HBC break.

This may be a stupid question but..
I have been on the pill for 3 years straight.
Reccently I had to skip this (and next month) because my PPH is closedd due to swine..

I was just wondering.. when I go back on the pill, will I suffer the initial side effects again (ex. weight gain)?

Hi. Thanks to all who offered help and support in my last post. I went to the doctor and I do have genital herpes. I have mostly gotten over the grief and fear, and am now just trying to deal. They gave me a shot in my bum, and I didn't hurt for the whole night.

They gave me Valtrex and some tylenol with codeine, which I'm taking as prescribed, but this still really HURTS. I still have to go to work, and I am just in constant pain. Sitting, walking, peeing, pretty much anything that isn't lying down with my legs apart causes me great pain. My only solution so far is to pour warm water on myself as I'm urinating. And it's just really red and swollen and icky down there.

Is there anything I could be doing for the pain, or to make this go away faster, besides taking my meds? Thank you all for your help.

I missed three days of birth control pills, due to my last pack of pills going missing. I started a new pack on Thursday. This Friday, there is a fairly good chance I will end up having PIV sex with a man.

I'm allergic to latex, and I know the condoms break easily. If the condom does break, what are my chances of getting pregnant?
