Cold sore?

I feel incredibly unlucky right now. I'm visiting my BF overseas for the first time this year and last night we were fooling around, Neither of us have ever had HSV 1 lesions so imagine my shock when I felt a cold sore on my lip. I had only been here 24 hours so I doubt I got it from him. The thing that sucks is he had JUST gone down on me right before I noticed, after kissing me for ages. What are the chances that he managed to transmit the virus to my genitals? I feel so shaky and nervous right now. I can't believe out of all the days of my entire life, I got a cold sore this day and didn't notice it in time. I keep thinking, if only I'd noticed an hour earlier, I'd just be worrying about the thing on my lip. I've been planning this trip all year, put of a couple medical procedures to come here and now I've ruined it by worrying I have herpes. :(

I'm not sure if I have a yeast infection or not (never had one before so...)

This month I started a new type of pill and finally my body decided it liked it. (No more vaginal dryness, I could actually get wet and have sex copious amount of lube = yay!)

But in the past few days I've had symptoms that made me think I may have a yeast infection.

A. slight itching which I put down to going a few days without shaving. Shaved and the itching went away.

(My discharge by the way is fine. Back to normal even with this new pill).

But I smelled myself this morning after a shower and my first thought was 'I smell like beer' which is a red flag for a yeast infection right?

slight itchiness + beer smell = yeast infection?

Thing is tomorrow I start my placebo pills so I should have my period in the next 2-3 days. So I don't really think I can treat a yeast infection with yogurt or garlic while on my period.

If I do have a yeast infection should I wait until it's over then treat?

Thanks so much.

Hi all. I hope today finds you well.

Does anyone else have a kind of burning pain with arousal?

The theory one doctor had was that it had something to do with the sudden blood flow to the area and it might be pulling on my endometriosis adhesions or something like that, but otherwise he didn't really know.

Usually it occurs the first time I get excited after my period (doesn't matter if the period stopped the day before or a week before), but then doesn't bother me. Since I haven't had a period in six months thanks to the Lupron, this latest bout seems to have nothing to do with my cycle. Also it doesn't seem to have anything to do with yeast or BV infections- it usually occurs when I know I don't have either. And it's been going on for years, but it's just finally starting to happen more intensely and more often that it's starting to affect me negatively.

It kind of feels like my own lubrication is burning me, or that's how I'd describe it. It'll get really bad for a few minutes and then suddenly go away and I'll be fine. It seems to be high up in the vagina too, kind of up around my cervix, but it will extend all the way down to the labia.

Am I the only one who gets this? Anything I can do to prevent it or make it go away? It kind of kills the mood. :/

Thanks!

I just had my yearly gyno exam. Over the last year I had about 4 or 5 bouts of YI and/or BV. Each time they cleared up with a prescription, but came back a few weeks later. The last one was a few months ago and I treated it with Monistat 3 and all was fine.

I mentioned this to my gyno and while she was examining me, she said I do have some redness and a little bit of clumpy discharge and asked if I have any itching or burning. I said no, but that every time I urinate, I smell fishy. That's really the only thing and I don't know if it's related.

She said if it isn't causing me problems or discomfort, it was fine to not treat it (whatever "it" is). This kind of confused me. Doesn't this mean that there is an imbalance in my vagina and that it should be reset? I know YI's don't really go away on their own, although I do know sometimes menstruation can put your bacteria back in it's place! However, I'm on Lybrel and don't ever have a period.

Thoughts? Should I take her advice and just leave it, or go get some Monistat and try to get rid of it (even though I personally don't feel any problems)?

I think it was about a year ago they finally catered to the non-pill swallowing population and formed chewable birth control. Has anyone heard of any midol, pamprin, or anything of that sort that has been released in a chewable form as well?
