Hey, I'm a first time poster. Anyway, I've been having a bit of a problem that I was hoping to seek some advice on.

A few months back, I began to notice a slight pain on my labia, next to where my clitoris is. I kind of brushed it off at first, since it wasn't hurting much, or interfering with my day to day life, except during masturbation. After the pain didn't cease I checked it out and noticed a small bump to the side of my clitoris. I simply ceased any activity that caused discomfort and was planning on making an appointment with my doctor, but it went away and didn't turn into a problem again. Recently, it started up again, although the discomfort is more mild this time than before. Once again, it causes me little discomfort, except while masturbating, or when coming in contact with the area. Unlike last time however, there does not appear to be one bump, but rather a few small white ones. I'm talking REALLY tiny, like the head of a pin, and they don't appear to be raised off the surface of the skin, although I do admit that it's difficult to examine myself. The thing is, I can't determine if the pain is specifically located on the clitoris, or right next to it. For whatever it's worth, I'm a transgendered male and have been on testosterone for several months, making the size of my clitoris increase. I had kind of assumed that the pain was a result of increased masturbation, and some irritation, since I'm now working with greater surface area, newly exposed skin, and an increased amount of sensitivity in the area. This along with a super-charged libido that has probably doubled the frequency of masturbation, could have resulted in some sensitivity/irritation, but I'm not sure if this is normal. Additionally, it seems after examining the area and moving the skin, the discomfort has ceased.

I have only been sexually active with my girlfriend of almost four years (minus a period last year where we had broken up short-term), and she claims (and I'm somewhat inclined to believe her) that I have been her only sexual partner as well, so I'm reluctant to think it could be something sexually transmitted. Additionally, since getting back together post-breakup, any sexual activity we engage in has been almost strictly manual, with a few exceptions (not certain if this makes a difference or not). After I told her about this, she informed me that she has noticed small things under the surface of her skin, which she described as being similar in shape and size to a sesame seed, which occasionally get irritated and swell, but ultimately she is able to rid herself of. She also noted that they've been there for a long time, so once again, they aren't sexually transmitted.

Overall, I'm just kind of worried about the situation. It hasn't stayed long enough, nor is it irksome enough to be a real bother, but still, any sort of discomfort in the genital area gets me concerned. Any help would be extremely appreciated.

Hello! I've lurked here for awhile. I don't feel comfortable positing personal things online, especially body issues but I'm a bit nervous, confused and just need some opinions about something I'm experiencing the past few months.

Here it goes....

Period, where art thou? )

So... I was prescribed Albothyl suppositories for my BV/Tricho problem to use every other day. After each day there would be tissue paper-like remnants which alarmed me so I decided to do a little research. Apparently the tissue thing is normal and here's a little info on the drug:

My entire life, late at night after a long day my vagina would get this burning feeling that would only subside if i had  a cold bath. This has been going on since i was atleast 2, i'm nearly 19. when i was younger the doctor told me i had senstive skin down their and my urine was to strong for it, so i just need to drink more water durring the day, and that usually worked, until now.

I started yasmin a few weeks ago and, even when i drink a ton of water through the day, i almost ALWAYS have the pains at night lately and they're so bad I can't really sleep..its cause some awful insomnia

I've heard good things, and bad things about yasmin, and maybe i need to switch the brand, or could i possibly need to go off birth control all together?

Also, ever since i started it I'm ALWAYS hungry, i've never had an apetite like this before and i'm gaining weight like crazy..and the backne, oh god,  are there any brands that wouldn't cause this?

I bought my first Nuva Ring and am excited to put it in :). I've not been on hormonal birth control for quite some time, and am due for my period on Thursday.

Should I just wait for Day 1 to roll around like the instructions say, or can I put it in tomorrow (Sunday)? I've started my pre-period spotting, so is that bleeding enough to start using it? I'm just worried if I don't follow the instructions exactly that I'll experience some bad bleeding side effects.

Thanks!

my doctor prescribed me the one tablet of fluconazole, and i took it last night.
i had scratched so much that i had broke some skin and now it HURTS as well as itches. especially when i urinate.
would putting yogurt on irritate my broken skin even more? what about tea tree oil?
i think i'll run to the store to get some acidophilus pills because i heard those were necessary when taking an antibiotic.
i just don't want to leave the house in fear of having so much irritation in a public area. ugggh.

i've never been in this much pain and discomfort in my life. i can't freaking stand this!!!

I just started taking Aviane birth control. I took two pills now I want to stop. I wonder if this is going to mess up my cycle.

Should I expect another period soon?  Is it necessary to start a pack at the beginning of a period?

Hi! I'm new to VP - but I did check the memories/links and googled excessively - and have a question.

My cervix appears to be ridiculously low. I think it's my cervix, anyway. I don't know what else it would be. It's not even a knuckle deep - it's kind of right at the opening. I'm 18, and from everything I've read, a prolapsed uterus/cervix generally comes from pregnancy. I'm a bit scared, since I haven't yet had my first appointment with the gyno, and I'm kind of embarrassed about telling my mother. I know the best thing to do would be to go to a gyno, but I'd like to know whether I'm just panicking irrationally or whether I may actually have a problem, even though it sounds unlikely.

Thanks in advance =)

Edit: Just thought I'd add that I'm still a virgin - adding to the improbability of it being a prolapse, I suppose, but there you have it.

Lost condom

Ok so I was having sex last night and when he pulled out the condom was gone!  He told me it was inside of me so I tried to take it out, but I couldn't feel anything!  I tried squatting and peeing and it didn't come out....so I tried and tried to feel around in there but nothing!  I totally don't feel anything inside, I swear it's not in there but he swears it is.  So we looked around the bed and searched everywhere but couldn't find it so I don't know, I guess it's still inside.....

I'm sure some of you have experienced this before, what did you guys do?  I don't really feel like going to the doctor....I'm not concerned about pregnancy because I'm on the pill and I take it reliably....so other than the risk of pregnancy, is it that bad to have the condom possibly still inside?  Should I just wait to see if it comes out or is it absolutely necessary to go to the clinic?

I did have something like this happen to me years ago, where the condom ripped and I didn't know some of it was still inside, and it eventually came out when I got my period 3 weeks later....

Thanks in advance for any insight any of you may have!

I have a question for anyone that has experience with PCOS..

These past few weeks I have noticed 2 things - my hair is falling out a wee bit more, and my blood sugar can't control itself as easily as it did.

I am on Metformin. In the past month, 2 things have changed:

1. Drinking more soda and eating more sweets
2. The pharmacy changed manufacturers of the generic Metformin I was using.

Could either of these be a cause of my PCOS seemingly "flaring up" again? Would changing manufacturers really make that much of a difference? Should I cut back on my refined sugars more?

Any info anyone has would be very much appreciated. Thank you!

So I just heard somewhere that eating sesame seeds will somehow help your breasts increase in size...this seems like bs, but I'm just wondering if there actually is anything behind it? Any ideas?

Also...along the same lines, does working on your pectoral muscles actually make a noticeable difference in how your breasts look?

(these questions make it sound like I'm terribly unsatisfied with my body....I'm not, I just have one breast that is about a cup size smaller...I've gotten used to it, but I figure if there is a way to somehow reduce the difference, why not!)

Hi VP'ers,

I've got a possibly G-spot related question.

The boy that I've been having sex with recently seems to have found my g-spot. I say 'seems to', because I'm not quite sure that that's actually what he's found, but I'm guessing it is. It's on the front wall of my vagina, very pleasurable when touched and quite far in. I can't reach it on my own, no matter how aroused I am and how much I try to contort my body. His fingers are longer than mine, so I think it's just that the spot is quite deep inside of me.

I've recently explored this spot further with him, thinking that it might lead to a g-spot orgasm. It doesn't, however. After a while of him stroking it, it suddenly gets very painful (but it doesn't feel like I have to pee, which is how it's often described, here and elsewhere). I've tried to keep going through the pain, thinking I'm on the brink, but it just gets unbearable. Also, when he's really stroking away at it, and this is the bit that freaks me out and possibly keeps me from orgasm, I can feel his fingers 'poking' at me when I lay my hand on my lower belly, below my pubic hair line, above the pubic bone. I don't understand how my anatomy works. Is he poking *through* my bladder somehow? From this picture, it seems that he should hit my pubic bone if it really is my g-spot he's at.

So, my questions are: any thoughts on the anatomy and what's going on with that? Has anybody else experienced this 'poking'? And what about the pain -- is that possibly a prelude to orgasm?

Thanks so much! You all are wonderful.

I have been trying since I was 12 years old to use tampons, but they just don't work for me. I can get them in. But I can't get them in the right place, because I either feel them, or they hurt when I sit down or squat down. I want to not be able to feel them period. (No pun intended, LOL). I'm tried sticking them in far. I've even tried aiming for the small of my back. Still don't feel comfortable. I think I've gotten in one where I couldn't feel it only one time.

My question is, how weird would it be when I go to the gynecologist to ask for help on this? After all, I'm in my late 20s, and I am not that comfortable talking about subjects like this in person anyway (online I'm fine). Plus, I don't know what the doctor would think about me asking for help on tampons. She might think that is something I should have already mastered by now. I figure it's my only shot in figuring out how to use them. And an explanation probably wouldn't be enough, I think my only hope is her actually putting one in for me. The gyno puts a speculum, his or her fingers, etc., in vaginas all the time, so what's the difference with a little tampon?

I feel so weird about all this. I mean, I know doctors are there to help and hear everything and see everything, but I think this might be too far out there.

What do you think?

When my period arrives sometime this week I'll start low-dosage HBC, containing 0.075 mg gestodene and 0.02 mg ethinyl estradiol.
I live in Europe, so I was trying to find the US equivalent of my pill and as it turns out gestodene isn't sold there. Why is that?
Can any of you fellow non-Americans share your experiences with gestodene?

I posted here a while back during a pregnancy scare, and lo' and behold, here I am again!

I'm on the combined Pill, have been for almost a year and am a near-perfect user (meaning I don't forget it, but take it sometimes up to two hours earlier or later than the day before). What are my chances of being pregnant if I had my withdrawal bleed the same day I normally do during my placebo-week? My boyfriend and I have been relying on the withdrawal method more and more lately (yes, he's very well controlled), so I relaxed when I started bleeding. But this past week, I've been getting headaches, nausea and dizzy spells, and I've gained a bit of weight/bloating in my lower abdomen. Pregnancy would be rather catastrophic, so I'm wondering if it's worth the trouble of trying to sneak out and get a test?

Part of my brain tells me my chances are almost nonexistent considering I bled last week, but the "what if?" part is winning at the moment. :(

(for the record, the internet really is a cursed place to find information - all the "I was on HBC but got pregnant!" stories are far from comforting)

(edit: I just noticed there's a similar entry further down the page. Seeing as mine is more HBC-related, I figured it wouldn't be unreasonable to keep this up)

So, I had my period last weekend. It ended in the normal amount of time and everything was dandy.
On monday I had unprotected sex. On tuesday I took Plan B.
Last night I had sex again. I was pretty dry most of the time but it didn't hurt or anything.
Today I've had really heavy bleeding. It didn't start right away, I was fine when I woke up.

I've never had this happen before. I've taken Plan B before and this didn't happen.
Am I having some crazy early miscarriage?
I'm kinda confused.
Also I'm not on birth control that happens on Friday when I go in for my yearly.

I bought a box of condoms for my boyfriend and I this morning, and decided to choose the ones with nonoxynol-9 spermicide. During, he said that it felt funny, like kind of numbing, but we went on. Afterwards, he said that it was hurting really badly when he peed - "like pissing razors." But then it would go away. Well, when he got home from work, about 8 hours later, he says that it's getting worse. It hurt terribly when he peed, and kept hurting afterwards. I did research, and it sounds like he's having an allergic reaction to the n-9 spermicide. Does this sound right to you guys? Also, is there ANYTHING we can do to help him out? Thanks for any advice, he's really hurtin' here.

EDIT: We can't really afford a doctor's visit, although I'm really thinking now that he needs to see one.

When I was freaking out about getting tested for HIV last month, people were giving me stats and telling me that it's very hard to contract the virus... the nurse who took my blood told me you would have to have a lot of unprotected sex with someone who was really sick, etc...

But I'm watching CNN right now and a woman who contracted HIV just wrote a book and she said, "I only had unprotected sex once with one person! That's all it took!"

So which is true?!
