Question about genital discomfort

Hey, I'm a first time poster. Anyway, I've been having a bit of a problem that I was hoping to seek some advice on.
A few months back, I began to notice a slight pain on my labia, next to where my clitoris is. I kind of brushed it off at first, since it wasn't hurting much, or interfering with my day to day life, except during masturbation. After the pain didn't cease I checked it out and noticed a small bump to the side of my clitoris. I simply ceased any activity that caused discomfort and was planning on making an appointment with my doctor, but it went away and didn't turn into a problem again. Recently, it started up again, although the discomfort is more mild this time than before. Once again, it causes me little discomfort, except while masturbating, or when coming in contact with the area. Unlike last time however, there does not appear to be one bump, but rather a few small white ones. I'm talking REALLY tiny, like the head of a pin, and they don't appear to be raised off the surface of the skin, although I do admit that it's difficult to examine myself. The thing is, I can't determine if the pain is specifically located on the clitoris, or right next to it. For whatever it's worth, I'm a transgendered male and have been on testosterone for several months, making the size of my clitoris increase. I had kind of assumed that the pain was a result of increased masturbation, and some irritation, since I'm now working with greater surface area, newly exposed skin, and an increased amount of sensitivity in the area. This along with a super-charged libido that has probably doubled the frequency of masturbation, could have resulted in some sensitivity/irritation, but I'm not sure if this is normal. Additionally, it seems after examining the area and moving the skin, the discomfort has ceased.
I have only been sexually active with my girlfriend of almost four years (minus a period last year where we had broken up short-term), and she claims (and I'm somewhat inclined to believe her) that I have been her only sexual partner as well, so I'm reluctant to think it could be something sexually transmitted. Additionally, since getting back together post-breakup, any sexual activity we engage in has been almost strictly manual, with a few exceptions (not certain if this makes a difference or not). After I told her about this, she informed me that she has noticed small things under the surface of her skin, which she described as being similar in shape and size to a sesame seed, which occasionally get irritated and swell, but ultimately she is able to rid herself of. She also noted that they've been there for a long time, so once again, they aren't sexually transmitted.
Overall, I'm just kind of worried about the situation. It hasn't stayed long enough, nor is it irksome enough to be a real bother, but still, any sort of discomfort in the genital area gets me concerned. Any help would be extremely appreciated.
