Okay, first off, I've only had ONE yeast infection since childhood, so I don't have much to go on. That one wasn't the standard "bad smell, cottage cheese" type, it was just MAJOR itching to the point where the toilet paper was speckled with blood from me rubbing and scratching constantly. A few treatments with some plain activa yogurt cleared it right up...

Now, I have been slightly itchy for a few days, but I was on my period until last night so I just figured it had something to do with my cup (yay! I have a diva cup now!). Today, I checked my cervix and fluids and my finger came out...kinda funky. Like, it didn't look like cottage cheese or anything, but more like lotion with some of those nasty toilet-paper grains in it (like you get when you wipe something that's damp, and the paper rolls into little teensy balls of grossness). It doesn't smell, but I do have one spot on my inner labia that is sore and raw feeling, and somewhat itchy. Should I go ahead and treat it as a YI?

Second of all, I have heard that all you have to do to make more yogurt if you have the active culture stuff is let it sit around and occasionally add some milk. So, does that mean it just doesn't go bad? I bought this stuff in like may of last year, and it has been in my fridge since then. Obviously the stuff hasn't been multiplying, between the lack of additional food and the cold temperature in there, but is it still viable for YI treatment? I don't want to open it till I'm fairly sure it's not going to be, like, growling at me when I open it. I hate when my leftovers sit so long they come to life...

My boyfriend has a small collection of nude models saved on his computer and usually has one as a desktop background. I can't help but feel a little jealous/put off by it :\ We have a very open/honest relationship and I know if I was really upset we could talk about it, but I really don't want to be that controlling.

What are your opinions on such a thing?

ps: Just want to say THANK YOU! to everyone in VP for being so helpful!

Sorry for posting so much lately!

Just wondering if anyone here has specifically used Theracran to prevent UTIs? These folks claim to have the most potent cranberry supplement on the market, and I thought maybe some here had used it...

Thank you!

Anyone know if excessive alcohol consumption could delay your period? I would assume a nasty hangover could be equivalent to a sickness and could similarly disrupt your body's natural cycle. Thoughts?

So according to a lot of vaginapagina members, yellow-brown discharge that smells like vinegar is normal right before your period. Well what if I'm stacking my birth control pills and don't have a period due for weeks and weeks? Is it still harmless?

Hey everyone! Just a quick question for you. I woke up this morning with some mild cramping. Mild as in just enough to know I'm cramping, but not really enough to be painful or anything. I'm supposedly two days away from ovulation, so is that what could be causing this? Just wanna make sure it's not something else since my period isn't due for at least two weeks. I'm not on BC, for the record. :) Thanks!

I've been prescribed a course of Oxytetracycline for my skin and I am also on the contraceptive pill Microgynon30.

I don't remember exactly how many boxes I was given but I currently have 6 full boxes left (each containing one weeks worth of pills), I have half of my current box left and I completed a box prior to this one but I can't remember if I am now on my third box or only my second as I feel like I've been taking the medication for more then a week. If I'm only on my second box that means I was given a total of 2 months worth of meds but if I'm on my third it means I was given 2 months and a week which doesn't seem like the "normal" amount of meds given.

Obviously with any antibiotic there's the "no sex for two weeks" rule which I thought I'd followed to the letter and had unprotected sex with my boyfriend yesterday after we worked out I'd been taking the antibiotic for 3 weeks or more. Now after some over-thinking and trying to add up of the pills I'm not so sure and feel it's closer to 9/10 days which is nowhere near 2 weeks!

I pushed two contraceptive pill packets together when I started taking the other meds as that's what I've always done but now I'm in a total panic over what to do. Do I go to the pharmacy and get the morning after pill tomorrow or do I try to book an appointment with my GP or do I just wait and see if I get my period two weeks from now? How long do you get before the morning after pill becomes ineffective?

Hi everyone,
My boyfriend wants to go down on me but I am a bit nervous letting him, because I am thinking that he might not like the taste, or that I am not clean enough.

I am afraid that even though I wipe after I pee that the smell will linger on the hairs and skin. Does everyone just wipe with tp, or do people also try and use water after they pee to clean up? I have tried to use water when I thought we might do it after, but not sure how to dry myself after.

I know we can try having oral after I shower, but that might not be possible with parents around.

So any suggestions so I am not nervous and can enjoy what my boyfriend is doing to me?

Thanks, and I know this is a weird and silly question, but I am concerned.

Yay, first post!

I'm currently taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen (the regular one, not the Lo) and I was wondering if there's a way to skip my period with it? Would discarding the green placebo pills work, or would I have to try something else? I read something elsewhere about taking the active pills in one pack then starting another pack backwards, but then what? Do I just keep repeating that?

This wouldn't apply to this month since I'm currently in my non-active week.
And sorry if this has been asked already!

So here is my problem. I have an annual exam next week and I’m really nervous about it. Usually I’m perfectly comfortable but this time I’m basically dreading it. I’ve had a very weird year. I broke up with a boyfriend I was dating for three years in January of last year and let’s just say since then I’ve been kind of promiscuous since. I’ve had many partners this year and that’s one reason that I’m uncomfortable going. They always ask how many partners I’ve had since my last visit and I really don’t want to tell the doctor the truth. It’s not that I’m ashamed of it I just don’t want her to pass judgment on me. Another problem that I have, and this is the main one, is that I think I have contracted some type of STI or STD. I’ve had unprotected sex twice this year…it was stupid I know. Drunken sex is never really a good idea when you don’t know the person well. I also know that you can contract it with a condom. I’ve had sores around my vaginal opening and itchiness and discharge. So add that to the amount of partners I’ve had, I just feel uncomfortable going to the gyno. How should I deal with this? How do I broach the subject that I think I’ve contracted something? I feel like lying about my number so that I don’t seem like I’ve been careless. How would you girls deal with this?

Hello beautiful ladies!!

This is probably an incredibly naive question, but I thought I'd throw it on out there anyway. Behind the cut just in case Over here )

Thank you!!

I found out that I have a tilted uterus.  The doctor says it's perfectly normal, but I'm just wondering does it cause any additional difficulties than if you had a normally positioned uterus?

Hey VP'ers!

I've been using a Mooncup for well over a year and never had any problems. Until today that is.
I've had the cup in since yesterday morning because I knew I was due on any day now and was staying at my GF's house last night. I went to remove the cup this afternoon and the stem has completely gone! The remaining stub is only as long as the highest ring on the stem, and the edge is uneven and jagged. I had to fight with it to get it out, leading to much discomfort :[
There was no trace of the detatched stem in my underwear, and it obviously hadn't disappeared inside me (the cup is a tight fit as it is, never mind stray plastic getting past it!).

Has anyone else had this happen? Or heard of it happening. The plastic isn't brittle or anything like that, it's just broke off the end.

It may or may not be relevant, but last night my GF was stimulating me over my underwear (for fear of coming on and being in rather a odd situation), but there was no penetration or anything. Maybe somehow the rubbing could have done this? Just a wild idea, as my cup sits quite high and I didnt have a very long stem, so wasn't near my vag' opening or anything, but something I wondered about.
Any thoughts?

Any help is much appreciated, and thanks in advance!!

I am on HBC. Last week was my placebo week, I got my period as usual, and today (Sunday) I took the first pill of my new pack. My boyfriend and I are in a long distance relationship, and he's coming to visit me on Saturday. Am I fully protected from taking the pill Sunday - Saturday right after not taking pills during placebo week? We don't use condoms for a variety of reasons (it hurts me, and yes we've both been tested), and I'd really like to be confident in my protection considering its my damn birthday and I want to sleep with him!

Thanks for advice.

I need a vibrator. Badly.  I have roommates, and the walls of the dorm are thin, so I need something really quiet, either made out of silicone or another material that won't harbor bacteria. I'm willing to put up $20-45$ for it. It can be life-like, non life- like, a bullet, I don't care, just send me suggestions :)  Recommendations by people who have used the product would be awesome!
