So, today, I woke up with this rather sore lump between my vulva and my inner thigh. It's about the size of a nickel, and it's tender and looks like there are little white spots on/around it.

I went to the bathroom a while ago and noticed yellow pus coming out of it. I squeezed it and a bunch of pus drained off.

I'm kind of frightened. What is it? An ingrown hair, perhaps? I was sexually active (had sex 3 times - oral/fingering), but I haven't had sex in around 6 weeks, possibly more. (I think it's more like 2 months). I haven't had an STD test at this point, so I'm really worried that it's an STD of some sort.

So here's some backstory. I'm 22 and have had issues with PCOS since I was 16. It first started out with me missing periods for 6 months. Went on the pill for a few months and got it back. Went off the pill with the hopes that all I needed was to get everything back in order. Cue a year and a half where I lacked a period. From then on until a year ago I went with having no period to having one every few months. I was able to get a period every month that would usually last 3-5 days and would be a light to normal flow.

I was on birth control briefly last year, but I had to discontinue for various insurance and financial reasons(this was before I learned about Planned Parenthood). Still, I was able to carry on having a period monthly, so everything seemed well. That is until two months ago when I stopped getting my period. Since then I have noticed that I have gained a little weight, my skin has gone from manageable to acne ridden, and the various other body hairs have come in at a highly noticeable amount. It's getting to me quite a bit and I've been feeling terribly self-conscious about it as of late.

I've recently received my medical benefits, so I'm planning on visiting the doctor soon and seeing about getting back onto birth control to keep my period regulated. But what I'm wondering is if there are any other women out there with PCOS who have had something similar happen to them. Anything at all would be very helpful. Thanks!

I have been on Yaz since late January. It's my first BC pill, and I'm delighted to say that it removed all my first-day-of-period nausea, vomiting, excruciating pain (not cramps, just pain) and that it's made my skin really pretty.

Now, that being said, I've started having some symptoms that have got me wondering if anyone else on Yaz is having them too.

Has anyone else experienced any of the following while on Yaz?
  • night sweats
  • night terrors
  • delirium after a night terror
  • fevers that occur after emotional distress
  • heightened emotional distress
  • mood swings (really grouchy, suicidally depressed, queen of the world happy)
  • sore throat
I've had my doctor do blood and urine work, the results of which I'm still waiting for, but I thought I'd put this out to the masses just in case. If it is the Yaz, I need to decide now if the first-day-of-period pain is easier to deal with than what I've been going through since April or so.
Any help or other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I've had my IUD since September. Every now and then I've run across a problem...

Sex hurts. I'm basically 100% certain that its the strings rubbing funny. Any idea how I'd go about fixing this or is it a lost cause? Its not all of the time but sometimes its horrible. It feels like something jagged is in there. Earlier tonight it hit right when he finished. We both rolled so I could make my sprint to the bathroom and I felt a sharp pain. Not like...a pain large in area like it is the device itself being manhandled. I became pretty familiar with IUD related pain after and during the insertion. It feels like its vagina related, not cervix related.

Question!

Since yesterday morning, my clitoris has been itchy. It was itchy then goes away for few hours and came back. This morning, woke up with itchyness. I can't tell on swelling but color seems normal and nothing else is wrong. No other area of my body. It feels better when I put pressure on it (not even scratching it) and I'm guessing its a bit swollen since it feels a tiny bit better when I spread my legs. Funny thing is at one point it felt like there was an air bubble in my clitoris if that makes any sense but that went away too..

Haven't been wearing anything tight clothes or underwear, haven't change anything before it happened like detergent or soap.

Help?

EDIT: I was sick recently and been taking antibiotics if it matters..

I'm so, so hopeful that someone in this community will know what I'm talking about. :( This has been going on for about 9 years, and the doctors I've tried to describe it to on various occasions had absolutely no earthly clue. One suggested that it isn't a physical problem at all, but I can't imagine I'd just be TOTALLY alone in this.

When I get dehydrated (or sometimes simply unlucky, there are times that it happens when I'm very well hydrated), there'll be an unusual and extremely unpleasant sensation in my urethra. I wouldn't call it pain. It's an intense discomfort that feels sort of like a constant tugging, which painkillers won't help (really, it just isn't painful). There seems to be a psychological side-effect as well, and maybe I'm the only one who has that particular problem, but whenever this happens, I suddenly feel, like. . . exposed, I guess is the right word. It's a really violating sensation. I can't stand to be looked at when it happens, because it seems like everyone would stare in that area, even though it doesn't make any sense that I'd think that. I'll cover myself with pillows and baggy clothing if I have to be around people, and usually just go close myself in a bedroom.

Water and time are the only things that help, and both are unsatisfactory. The more I drink water, the more I need to use the restroom, and when I'm actually peeing is the only time it hurts. Right about the last 5 seconds of urination, the pain is just absolutely unbelievable. It's an extremely sharp, relentless pain, and I'm aware of what feels like fast flexing of muscles in that area. It usually takes about 2 hours for this whole cycle to run its course, and takes about 6 glasses of water to get there. One of the doctors I spoke with about it was actually running SEVERAL tests on my bladder, kidneys and urethra at the time for an unrelated issue, and found nothing.

I know I sound like I'm off my rocker, I apologize, but it's happening again this morning (while I've got an uninvited houseguest) and I just thought I'd take a shot in the dark and see if anyone else has experienced it, and what has helped them.

I am FINALLY getting yeast infection relief. Boric acid has saved my life. Not kidding. I went to the doctor and i had a bacterial infection and a yeast infection. I got clindess (sp?) for the bacterial infection and I felt 100% better after that then I started using the boric acid capsules a couple of nights later...i've only used it two nights now and i have no weird odor or discharge. I'm so happy, you have NO idea how. I will never take my happy yeast and bacteria free vagina for granted ever again.

QUESTION!! Are these sexually transmitted? I looked in the memories and didn't get exactly what I wanted. If so, is it common for men to get these and how should I go about treating my fiance for both bacteria and yeast? Does he need to visit a doctor or are there OVC or home remedies he can use? I do NOT want to get infected EVER again.

I'm in a state where I'm not sure if I have a UTI, or if I'm just paranoid about having to pee all the time. I hate using the bathroom where I live because of dirty housemates, so I constantly have paranoia about having to pee... which results in my mind thinking I have to when I might not have to, and now I'm not sure if I just have a UTI!

Are there any other symptoms I could look out for other than "constant pressure" and "feeling the urge to pee"??

Nonetheless I've been drinking lots of cranberry juice, water, and vitamin C. Anything else I should be doing?

Thanks!

Hello! -waves-

I've been dealing with PTSD since I was five; I started therapy at age nine, and at nineteen I've made tremendous progress. Anyways, one of the problems I've had is that I cannot orgasm when I masturbate. I've been practicing meditation for years, I clear my mind, jack off (I use a Hitachi magic wand,) and get right to the edge, but can't get over it. I have no problem achieving orgasm with partners.

Any tips? I'm going crazy here.

I'm not sure if anyone's ever asking this before, I looked around and didn't see anything relevant to it, so here goes:
I've been on the generic of Seasonale, Jolessa for about two years now, i've been on three month birth control for about 3 or 4 years. I'm still on Jolessa and I wanted to know if anyone ever decided to have a period in the middle of the pack, not taking the last week of pills as if they were placebos, and using them like regular monthly birth control?
I'm asking because I like the idea of having a period every month if I want, or just taking them as directed, without having to see the dr every time and having to go from pill to pill...

Hi everyone!

I have my yearly gynecologist appointment tomorrow, but I started my period yesterday.  It was late (hence the overlap with the appointment).  When they called to remind me on Friday, I mentioned that my period was late, and asked what I should do if it showed up over the weekend.  They said it would only be a problem if the flow was heavy.  I didn't think to ask for a definition of "heavy".

I'm on BC, so I consider the flow light.  I can probably get by with just a pany liner right now, but it's a bit more than spotting...would I be better off calling and asking, or is there a generally accepted definition of light-enough to go?  Any thoughts?  I think I'm getting a pap, so that would need to be considered.

It wouldn't be too big of a deal to reschedule, but they have a 6 week waiting list, and I need my refills on BC.  And I'm off of school, so it's a good time to go.  :-)

Thanks a bunch!

Hi. So as of now I’ve never had intercourse. I’ve been one and off with the same guy for two years and I love him very much. Anyway, I think I’m ready to have sex and regardless of what happens I know I’ll be glad I shared this experience with this particular person. So, I was wondering if any of you had any advice for me especially females. I was thinking about stretching out my hymen to make the actual experience less uncomfortable. What will it feel like? How much will it hurt?

I wanted to post a question, but am rather embarrassed about it. It has been over a year since I breastfed my daughter, yet both of my breasts still leak milk, especially when I squeeze them. Should I be concerned about this? It's kind of scary.

Hi, all.  Lately I've been experiencing mega-vaginal dryness, which has never been a problem for me in the past (quite the opposite, actually).  I can be totally turned on, I feel physically aroused, but I'm totally dry.  I haven't had any significant lifestyle changes recently, so I can't quite figure out why this would suddenly happen.

I was on the generic of Ortho Tri Cyclen (something Sprintec) for about a year, then discovered I could get the real stuff at Planned Parenthood for cheaper, so I've been taking that for the past three months.  I haven't experienced any other side effects.  Is it possible for HBC to cause side effects after a year+ of taking it?  I took OTC several years ago, and never had this problem then.  In fact, the main reason for getting back on OTC (vs. Seasonale) was because it was so blissfully side effect free.

Thoughts?

Hi, this is going to be rambling but I'll do my best to be succinct.
I'm 27 and still a virgin, up until the beginning of this year I'd had no sexual experience whatsoever. I've met a guy, I get along really well with him and trust him. While talking things over with him I decided that I'd like him to be my first and he was more than happy to oblige.
However, him putting even just two fingers in me was quite painful, even after lots of foreplay, oral, lube and all sorts of other fun things. It seems I'm just too tight.
Talking it over with him and another mutual friend we came to the conclusion that my hymen's probably still intact and I had three options; I could try breaking my hymen myself with a dildo, he could just go ahead and do it the old fashioned way with his cock, or I could go to my doctor and ask them about a hymenectomy.
Downside to the first option is that I'd prefer somebody else to do, preferably with their penis, just without the pain. Downside to the second option is that he hates the idea of causing me that much pain, it's rather a turn-off for him. Downside to the third option is that I hate hospitals and doctors and would much rather avoid that route if possible.
Has anybody here ever broken their own hymen?
Any advice you could offer would be wonderful.

Hello,

Does anyone here take the birth control bill called Yaz?  I started taking it two months ago, and since then I have been having a very hard time becoming really lubricated.  I used to have no problem at all, and when I was having sex, my boyfriend would be able to slide in very easily.  Now it is a big struggle, though it doesnt really hurt.  I don't know what else it could be, besides the birth control.  We have a healthy relationship, I am attracted to him sexually, and we do lots of foreplay, and I drink a lot of water.  So has anyone else experienced dryness with Yaz?  Or maybe there is something else I am not considering?  I haven't been stressed out, and there's really nothing I can think of.  I just want to be able to have lubrication there again, does anyone have any ideas what I can do?
