So I've been taking Ortho-Cyclen since mid-May of this year, and while it's really thrown my entire body out of whack (I'm STILL getting nausea a lot and got a good bit of weight gain), I've never experienced breast/nipple pain. EVER. Right now, I have 10 active pills left, and for the past 2 or 3 days I've been having period-like cramps, and my boobs were a little sensitive...

But not nearly as sensitive as they are now! They're very sore and almost feel hot inside (it's difficult to explain but is a very weird feeling), and I can barely even touch them without pain. If this is due to the HBC, why has it started only now this far into it?

I became sexually active in June of this year, by the way. I couldn't be...um...pregnant, right? O_o I mean, I've been taking my pill around the same time every night.

Well, obviously this is a new account I made just to post here, I'm sorry if I'm doing anything wrong I've never actually posted in a community before D:
This problem is more related to my boyfriend's sexual health than my own I guess, so hopefully it's still allowed, if not delete away!

Well just for some background; my boyfriend and myself are both 18, we've been together for two and a half years, and I'm on the pill but we also use condoms.
The problem would be that during the last year whenever we've had sex it probably hasn't lasted over five minutes once, my boyfriend always reaches orgasm really quickly. During the beginning of our relationship I'd say it usually lasted longer, I never really put much thought into it since we were both virgins when we met and we're both still young; so it could be that? But it's getting frustrating for the both of us, I know it really bothers him so I never say much about it because I don't want to make him upset.
What I'm asking really is if there's anything we can do to help make sex last longer?

Again sorry if I've made any mistakes posting this!

I made it (close enough to) a week without asking you a question, vaginapagina =o I am improving.

First question: I've had bladder issues since I was little, for no real reason. Wetting the bed, peeing my pants, things like that. Now that I'm older, it rarely happens, but I do still occasionally wake up to a wet bed. I don't currently take anything for it, as it's such a rare occurrence, and is easy enough to clean up (rubber backed sheets are pretty awesome). The thing is, while I'm ok with dealing with it, it's still embarrassing. I'm not really sure how to broach that with any future partners. So far, it's only ever happened once and my reaction was basically "can we never talk about this? ;-;" I find talking about herpes far easier than this.

Second question: In the last couple months I've gotten two bumps in my pubic area. At first, I assumed an ingrown hair, or a clogged pore, or something similar, but then they kinda changed. Got hard, painful, and developed a head, but would not pop. The first one has left a scar, and when the second one popped, it oozed blood and some kind of puss. I think it's still healing and it's been a couple weeks. Any thoughts as to what they are? They're rather small, about a centimeter in diameter.

Third: For the last two or two and a half years, my body has been messed up. My periods have changed significantly, and the symptoms I get prior to and during it are far more extreme than they used to be (that that they're really bad, just...not nice like they used to be). I'm 22, and I had an abortion a little over three years ago (it was kind of between the first and second semester, I no longer remember how far I was along, just that it was close the cut off, and afterwards I lactated a bit for a few months). Is my body changing because I'm older, or could being pregnant have affected my hormones more permanently?

Praise: I love vaginapagina. It's incredibly nice to be able to talk about herpes without feeling embarrassed or ashamed in any way, and help people through my experiences with it. <3 I nearly cried the other day, it felt so good.

Hello VPers!

I'm a women's studies and creative writing double major entering my senior year of undergrad. I'm working on some poems for my year-long writing project, and I need your help.

I have an idea that has to do with myths and urban legends about how to prevent pregnancy, like jumping up and down after sex or drinking bleach. However absurd, dumb, dangerous, or strange it is (and the stranger, the better), I'd like to know the myths and rituals that you've all heard about preventing pregnancy. They can be things you heard in high school sex ed. or from friends or random things you know about what people thought and did in past centuries. Anything anyone can contribute will be of help.

Thank you all in advance! :)

Hi ladies (and gents...?)

I'm currently on yasmin for birth control.

But i messed up on taking the pills (little things like taking it late, or the next morning a few times in the last two weeks). And then I put myself at risk by having sex without a condom and not pulling out at all (he fully came inside of me).

I was really paranoid, and I had a pack of Alesse left over from when i used to be on it (i had to switch a few months ago) so I took 5 of them, and then 5 more 12 hours later as EC. When I switched and asked the doctor 'but what can i do with this pack? he said it was good for that)

I am 2 pills from the end of the pack for this month, one tonight, and one tomorrow night. Should I take those, or just stop taking them and wait for my period, and then start up again in 7 days (and use condoms from now on!!!!!)

After taking EC, should my period come as soon as all the hormones are out of my system, like it usually does when I stop taking my pills for the placebo week?

Thanks ladies!

Hello!  This is my first time posting, so if this topic has already been covered, I apologize ahead of time.

First of all - this is an AWESOME resource.  Thank you for providing such a great community!  :)

Now to my story - I'm 29 years old and have been on several different types of birth control since I was 18.  I started on Triphasil, and then around 25 I switced to Ortho Tricyclin, and then to the depo shot, and then to Ortho Tricyclin low.  Well, needless to say, my hormones have been through the ringer these past 11 years.

I noticed that my sex drive was all but non-existant about two years ago.  I was pretty overweight at the time, so I figured my body image had quite a bit to do with it.  Then about 8 months ago I read some articles regarding the affects of birth control on one's sex drive.  (Here are a few that I found...)

The last time I was on top while my boyfriend and I had sex, my lower back was aching.  I would just keep going, but the longer I would grind on top the stronger the pain was... it almost felt like it was about to cramp up by the time I told him I wanted to switch positions.  We tried that position again the next day and I still felt an achy pain in my lower back...

Does anyone know what's causing it?

Question.

I suffer from pretty bad PMS a couple days before my period...but always a week or a week and a half before I start, I am sick to my stomach ALL day long for 24 hours. To the point I can barely eat. :/

The next day I'm fine. I get vaguely nauseous during. Is this weird? Does anyone else have this problem so far in advance of your cycle?

Hey Guys,

I can't tell you how awesome this community is, I was gushing to my doctor about today.

So i went for a pap smear today and was told i have a slight yeast infection, I already had this suspicion, but I thought i had dealt with it and have been taking Inner Health Plus (Acidophilus) and earlier this week took one of the one dose over the counter tablets earlier this week. The doctor suggested I take the six day canesten but I"m concerned I might be creating a nasty strain thats drug resistant if i do this. The Inner Health Plus tablets have worked in the past and I only took the otc tablet as i was doing two 5 hour drives and wasn't in a position to take the other tablets with me and keep them refrigerated.

In terms of there still being YI present, i have slight itching but nothing too bad and a little bit of discharge, but am not in any real discomfort.

She tested me for BV and a YI and the test results wont be in until Monday, so I'm thinking maybe It would be worth holding off until Monday (if it doesn't get any worse) so i'm not hitting my body up with drugs it doesn't need.

Thoughts? Experiences?

Thanks in advance!

A month or two ago  I had a bump on my labia not red or anything but skin colored. I picked at it and only blood came out it went away. Now a few weeks later maybe a month or so I have a tiny bump on the lip of my vagina that hurts almost like a little pimp and harder larger one on the inside of my lip on the other side this one is more under the skin. I have been freaking out for 2 days. I remember my lymph node on my neck being swollen a couple days ago, but that has gone away. The don't have anything coming out of them just kind of hurt.

My sexual history:
I've only had sex once with a condom which was 2 years ago
I'v had oral sex twice most recently was probably almost a year ago

Should I be concerned?

Recently I've been battling a cold (it's winter here in Argentina) and I've noticed I'm producing more vaginal mucus than normal and it seems like I usually do this when I'm sick. Why is this? Is it anything to be worried about? It's not funny colors or textures, just plain old white stuff. Just more of it.
Is anyone else like this?

I know that the week of your period you are still protected, because of hormone levels and such.
Well, my boyfriend and I had sex last night. It's been about 5 days since my period ended. Also, it's been about 5 days since my boyfriend and I had sex/he has cum.
He pulled out completely and finished off by his hand.
I started taking my new pack of birth control today ... this morning at 830am to be exact.
I know that precum can contain sperm, though he hadnt cum in about 5 days.

If I go to get EC will it mess up my HBC?

Should I not worry about the EC and just continue my HBC?

Thank you :)

I looked through some previous posts and the vulvapedia but I thought I'd ask anyway (first time poster, long time lurker, you know he drill).

To make a long story short, I had unprotected sex this weekend and took EC about six hours later. Have taken it before with no side effects except for my period being a bit late. Now, I'm experiencing what I first thought was some spotting, though it's beginning to look alot more like a really heavy period. This is just a week after my last period ended.

My dilemma is that I got off my HBC just this month, and I was going to have a 'hormone free' cycle before starting a new HBC without estrogen. I don't really feel comfortable starting my new HBC during this 'period', since I'm not sure if this is just a weird side-effect from my EC.

Has anyone had this experience with EC (a waay to early period)? And do you think my new HBC will have the desired effect if I start taking it now?

At the risk of sounding terribly ignorant, I'll ask anyway.

I wore a tampon yesterday and today, but normally during my period I opt for pads. Since I've worn the pad since yesterday, it's sort of... stopped. Normally my periods last about 4-5 days, and today is my third day, but since yesterday it's been very light. I'm not sure if this is because the tampon gets all up in my business and gets all the good stuff quickly? Or... is my vagina just not that willing to give it all up?
