i'm just wondering if this is common, i use the patch as birth control, and have for approximately 4-6 months. this past period has been SUPER weird. the whole week before (i took my third patch off this past thursday) i was spotting brown mucus-y type stuff and did all the way until i got my period today, but even still, though i'm bleeding, im still having a lot of brown discharge.

i know that discharge is normal but this is insane.. usually i get that gross-y type stuff while i'm getting adjusted from my period back onto the patch for like two days... its never happened like this before...

i'm pretty positive i can't be preggo cause i've had two periods since i've last had sex

any thoughts?
thanks

Hi.

I'm 12 weeks expecting now, and I was kind of curious to know:

- A few years ago I was diagnosed with ADHD and bipolar disorder. The psychiatrist made sure that I'm on regular medication for both. What kinds of side effects will this have on the pregnancy?

- Will multivitamin supplements interfere with my medication or have any harmful side effects against the baby?

Thanks!

I'm usually the one answering questions, but last night.. I had a shocking realization!

My husband has a wart on his pinkie finger. It's not possible for him to pass on HPV to me that way, is it? I've had a plantar wart on my foot which, from reading Vulvapedia, tells me that I have HPV as well.

Neither of these are the type that affect genitals, right?

my period ended 5 days ago, I started my usual BCP 6 days ago (as normal), yesterday I started what appears to be spotting or another period...

any ideas what might be causing this?

Hi, I was wondering if someone could answer my question. I'm 16 and don't know too much about this stuff. For the past few days I've had this uncomfortable feeling in my vagina. I don't really know how to describe it, it's almost like um I would say an itch kinda in my vagina. Sorry I can't really describe it any better, does anyone have any idea of what could possibly be wrong with me? Thank you so much for your help.

New HBC!

So, after months of bad giney due to my Nuva Ring, I decided to just take the damn thing out and get an appointment for some new BC.

The nurse practitioner at my clinic said that Nuva Ring could actually WARD OFF bacteria and nasties and keep my giney clean, but I found that to be the opposite for me.

Question is: I've never tried any other form of HBC besides the Nuva Ring (and that's very low dosage of hormones), so can I get some suggestions for low dosage pills so my giney doesn't flip out again?

Also, I already know I'm going to be the worst daily pill taker in the history of birth control, so are there any other forms of BC like the patch or..whatever that someone could suggest as well?

ThxIA!

I looked through the memories, but didn't find something like this, if its there and I'm just blind please direct me there :)

My question is:  Is it possible to just not have a period on HBC?  I don't mean skipping, I mean just not having one during the inactive pills.

I'm on LoEstrin Fe, have been for about 9 months, and at first I had a normal period, a little bleeding into the next pack.  Then the next inactive time bleeding lasted for almost exactly one hour.  After that though I haven't actually had any bleeding since January.  I had some during the last inactive time, but I'm pretty sure that's because I had a laproscopic sugery on the last day of my active pills (not 100% sure).  I guess I could be pregnant, but since this was happening and I wasn't then (before sugery) I was just wondering if this is possible?  This time I had the teeniest amount of spotting.   Or could this just be a side affect from the sugery?  (It was on the 28th of March)

For refrence, I've been on Ortho Lo, Yasmin, and seasonale and always had regular bleeding since.  I also have an appointment with my gyno next week, but was just wanting a little peace of mind until then.

Hello, I appologize in advance for the lack of 'correct terms'

I am on alesse (28) and I was just thinking about something.
I think I used to take my pill wrong, but a few months ago I started taking it on the first day of my period.. well.. I was just thinking..
during the placebo pill week I usually get my period on the fourth or fifth pill ... am I suposed to wait until the entire seven days are up to start taking the hormonal pills again or would I start the day I begin my period ?

This stuff can be very confusing sometimes...
Also.. I ran out of pills and forgot to get them.. and my period began today. So, should I just transfer to a Sunday start? It IS sunday AFTER your period begins..correct?

I think that is all I need to know. Thank you SO much

I'm starting on the Nuva Ring again, but last time i used it i was coming right off of the pill and started the day i should have started my new pack.
I just got the smallest amount of brown discharge but i know that by tomorrow morning i'll be full on period, should i put the nuva ring in tonight?
Thanks!

Okay, so I've had my IUD for almost 18 months and I love it. BUT,  we are discussing trying to get pregnant and talking about removing my Mirena.
A little background:
I was on ortho tricyclen for about 8 hours, took a year to get pregnant when I went off HBC.  I didn't ovulate regularly (and didn't want to take pills for it, since the point of going off HBC was trying to get back into a "normal" cycle for my body).
I've had totally irregular cycles with my Mirena.  Bleeding, spotting, you name it, i've had it.  It's gotten less bad since I hit the one year mark.

Questions:
I have heard you have to wait 3 months to try to get pregnant after  IUD removal.  Anyone else hear this? Of course now I can't remember where I read it, and everything seems to say "you can get preggers right away" as if it's a bonus.
Do I want to find a doc who is experienced in removal?  I've been seeing a resident lately (fav doc left, long story...) but I've also been considering going to a woman's clinic that just opened in our town.  (Not like Planned Parenthood, this is a place that's more like a woman's health/pregnancy place... seems pretty cool)
Those of you who have had an IUD and successfully gotten pregnant after, how long did it take?  If you've been on other HBC, was it approx. the same?

Thanks for all your help, you ladies rock!

Ok my inspirational new friends. You have helped me convert!!
I'm now a proud Diva Cup user and have recently started using OCM. (Oil cleaning method) and I'm loving both of these new- to- me more natural methods to taking care of my body.
I had not heard of either of these things before all of you!!

SOOO

What else am I missing? What else is out there, that is so good, but that isn't known about in the main stream? What else am I missing out on?

Thank you all!

**PS I hope this in considered an acceptable post. To me this is more then just a vagina friendly community- its more then that. Its a place to encourage each other and inspire each other to take care of our bodies, and be healthy and comfortable with ourselves. To me the vagina is the symbol of something much bigger, much deeper, and truly beautiful ;-)**
