I know there are a few entries concerning this topic, but they didn't really have what I was looking for. However, if I've overlooked anything, sorry, and feel free to point me in the right direction.

i just got my vertical hood piercing tonight. It hurt like a bitch!! But it's pretty and I like it. =) But it's a strange concept for me to be told that I don't have to really do anything to it... My piercer said that it's a self cleansing area, and I don't need to do much more than wash it once a day in the shower with antibacterial soap. But I was just wondering what anybody else here who has it done did. I'm terrified of getting an infection, but I know that if I over clean it, it's not helping either. I really want to put some neosporin on it... but is that really bad?

I would just appreciate some input/advice/stories. Thanks!

I posted a while back about venting about trying to concieve and not having my period after stopping BC. Well after three months without it I think it might have tried to return.

About a week ago I got super super emotional and voila! I started spotting. The thing is.. it never progressed passed spotting. I spotted for 4-5 days never really needing a pad or anything. A pantyliner was more than adequate. Most of the spotting was brown, but I did have one day of red.

Today the spotting has almost completely stopped but I had some very slight pain in my side where i estimate my ovary to be. I mean slight.. if I was distracted in anyway I probably wouldn't have felt it.

So do you think this is the start of my cycel starting back up again? Can you spot during ovulation? Could I not have had a period bleed because there wasn't lining built up to shed because my ovaries have been sleeping?

I'm just a little confused about how it all works. Though I am super super excited and happy that my reproductive functions have at least made an attempt to resume!

This question is for anyone who has HSV 2:
How long after your exposure to the virus did you exhibit symptoms or develop sores? Many sources say usually between 4 days to 2 weeks after exposure is when symptoms show up, I wanted to ask people who has actually experienced it :)

Hi ladies,

I've been reading VP for a long time and loving it. Thank you for the information you've given with sincere thoughts and concerns.

Lately, there is something that is bugging me:

My boy and I do not have sex but we do heavy pet and rub against each other's genitals (without condoms and I'm not on any medication/bc), I am wondering... is there any way I can get pregnant through that? I'm sorry about my lack of knowledge, I'm getting more and more paranoid and unclear day by day. I've found websites which say I can get pregnant, while some say I can't.

My last period was on 26th to 31st January: ever since it finished, I start consuming Evening Primrose Oil pills daily for a month (it's my first time consuming it). Is there any way EPO can delay period?

I finished my exams few days ago and I tried Parsley tea 2 days ago, but it hasn't shown any effect on me. Is it because I'm pregnant or have not ovulate?

Have not shown any effects of PMS - zits/sore breasts.

Sorry that I sounded so confused, my paranoia is really biting into me.

I thank you in advance for your effort to drop me comments and helping me along :)

Does pre-cum contains sperm? Like, are there really cases of pregnancy without sex?

Hello there!

Last weekend, my boyfriend and I had some pretty intense sex. Now, I didn't orgasm, but it was still really hot :P

Anyway, the next morning, we were sitting around, doing our own thing, when I thought back to the night befores activities. All of a sudden it get that familiar feeling in my "nether regions", and as I kept thinking about the sex, I had, well, an orgasm. It was small, but it definately happened.

Has anyone else experienced this? Thinking about it, and getting off on it?

Hi Ladies.
I have been on and off HBC for about 6 years with a couple different brands of Pills.
Something that I have been wondering about lately is that I usually get my period BEFORE i finish my hormornal pills, before I have my week off/placebo pills.
is this something others have experienced? Why would this be happening?

so i was diagnosed with a bacterial infection with some traces of yeast (i'll just refer to it as BV) by my gyno and was prescribed some antibiotics (generic Flagyl) and a vaginal cream (can't remember the name, and i'm at work now so i can't check). the directions say to take Flagyl twice a day for 7 days and to insert the cream 3 nights in a row.

it's been a while since i spoke to the nurse, but i *think* she said to take all of the pills first, and then when that's done (after the 7 day period), begin the cream treatments.

anywho, i guess my question is, for those of you who have had to use a similar treatment, did you begin taking the medication at the first *sign* of an infection (right now i just have the familiar itchiness, though it's currently mild), or do you wait until the infection is a little more full blown?

i know that's kind of a dumb question, but i guess i'm just curious. i've actually had BV for several months, but this is my first month actually TREATING it, haha.

i'm pretty sure it's best to start treating now before it gets worse, but again, i was just curious about others and your experiences with treatment. thanks!

Hi!

Have any of you ladies taken a pregnancy test that you bought from the dollar store? How accurate do you believe they are? I just took one and got back a negative result within 30 seconds...

I don't think my chances of being pregnant are great, but my period is 3 days late (granted I'm under a serious amount of stress) and I wanted to take a test without having to spend the extra money on the expensive brand.

I've been doing Kegels for about a month or more and recently I've noticed that I've been having trouble getting a good squeeze from my PC muscle. It's like I have to try harder to feel the whole muscle squeeze.

Starting out I never had this problem, unless it was after an orgasm or during extreme arousal, in which case the muscle is just tired out or something.

I used the Luna Pleasure Bead system almost daily (just during workouts at the gym), but did not use them yesterday. I did still, however, periodically do standard Kegels during the day (whenever it crossed my mind). I don't think I could have "overworked" the muscle, but I'm wondering if it is possible?

Any suggestions?

Hi all!

I have a problem. I think I have a yeast infection but am not too sure because it is unlike any other that I have experienced. My symptoms: a discharge that is sometimes thick and white, sometimes watery discharge, it has a smell like baked goods but it doesnt smell like yeast and I get itchy sometimes. In addition sometimes I will be really wet after a discharge.

Sorry for being graphic and for using the most basic description of what is going on. I just want to know if anyone has experienced this before? If it makes a difference I have also been off HBC for 2 months now. I won't be able to visit a doctor until my mom returns to the country and adds me to her health insurance. In the meantime, is there anywhere else I can seek professional advice. And finally I am tempted to try the apple cider vinegar solution and wanted to know has anyone else had any success in using it to hold off infection until they visit a doctor?

Thanks for you help in advance!

So, I've been really constipated lately and not my anus feels a little dry and hurts a bit. Is this just side effects of the constipation (irritation)? Has anyone else ever experienced this irritation or something close to it after being constipated?

Hi! I'm hoping someone here can give me some direction...

I've been on the NuvaRing for more than 2 years. It has never caused me ANY problems, ever. At the direction of my gyno, I regularly skip periods and have one every 3 or so months. Again, I've been doing this for more than 2 years, never with any problems.

The issue I'm having now is that I started bleeding on January 3rd. Not so much it was like a period, but enough to need a pantyliner or light absorbency tampon. I was not due for a ring change for another week. After I got back to school from winter break, I changed my ring, thinking maybe it was just a defective one with not enough hormone or whatever, and a new ring would bring things back to normal. Nope. No go. It is now February 5th, and I am STILL bleeding...some days are lighter than others (with brown, old blood), but the bright red blood is still making a REGULAR appearance on my toilet paper. 5 days out of 7, at least. There has been minimal cramping, which is not characteristic of my periods at all...usually I cramp  A LOT and cry A LOT.

This has never happened to me. I have PCOS which I've mostly reversed with weight loss, which is why I was on the NuvaRing to begin with, and I never had problems with excessive bleeding, my period was just M.I.A. This is an absolute mystery to me, and, being the hypochondriac I am, I'm convincing myself I have uterine fibroids or cancer or something awful like that.

Any insight is appreciated. I really just want it to stop.

I think the post about a girl whose boyfriend had a yeast infection was a sign. Today I went to the doctor for my first pap smear ever. I also talked to the doctor about my recurring bouts of bacterial vaginosis. It seems that every time I get my period, I get BV. The doctor gave me a two day treatment of Clyndesse and told me to follow it up with Metronidazole once a week. I passed on the $80 Clyndesse, and am opting to wait my current (extremely mild) infection out until taking the preventative measures he suggested.

When I was discussing this with my mother, she mentioned that my boyfriend might have BV. At first I was pretty dismissive, but then I realized that this makes a LOT of sense. For the past three months, we have just happened to not see each other mid-cycle, at which point my BV would clear up. Then I would see him again, we'd go at it, and I'd wake up the next day with a fish-smelling vag. I always took it as a sign my period was about to start, and blamed it on my new birth control. Thinking back, it's awfully coincidental that I always came down with the symptoms just after seeing him. Then I went on VagPag and saw the girl posting about her boyfriend and a yeast infection--and I had to post. This is obviously a sign.

I have a few questions:

1. Is it possible for my boyfriend to be carrying the bacteria that is so plaguing me? I've never heard of a boy with BV. When my mom suggested that he had it, she also suggested that he should take some of my antibiotics. I said, "Where do you want Jeff to put a vaginal suppository, Mom?"

2. Assuming he can have BV, does he go to his regular doctor, or does he go to my gynecologist to get treated?

3. This is just for my own curiosity. If it turns out that boys can get BV, and it sounds likely that my boyfriend has it, how will they treat him? Just a regular antibiotic?

I had a surgical abortion exactly two weeks ago tomorrow. Everything I have read in American health literature says a woman should wait at least two to three weeks after the abortion to have sex again. But I live in Denmark, and my doctor told me my sex life could begin immediately as long as I used a condom.
My boyfriend has a difficult time with condoms, though, and I didn't feel ready for sex yet, so we have abstained from sex the last two weeks. But now I am no longer bleeding from the abortion and I feel much, much better. I'm on the pill and have been using it correctly. But my doctor is out of town for several weeks and it won't be possible for me to ask her about sex until much later in March.

So my question is, is it okay for me to have condomless sex now? How great a chance of infection is there, when I feel completely better? And how funny is it that in the States doctors tell you "no, absolutely nothing in your vagina!" after an abortion whereas in Europe it's "oh, sure, you can have sex right away"?

So I've seen y'all talk about how PMS & your period makes you feel more creative, but does anyone else get really domestic?

Seriously the days before my period alllll I want to do is bake & cook & make everybody happy. It's not a bad thing by any means. I just get so MOTHERLY. I'm 20 years old! & all i want to do is wear an apron & serve my roomies!

Does anyone else experience this? Stories?

Hi! So, I've been reading VP for quite a while and finally got up the courage to ask a question. I am a 19 year old lesbian- out to everyone and in a great new relationship (4 months). She is frustrated because I won't let her penetrate me with her fingers or toys. Although we have found many other ways to have sex and pleasure each other, I have just always had this crazy fear of anything INSIDE my vagina. I've never been able to do it. It seems no matter how aroused I get once we get close to letting her or myself- I tense up and feel it's going to be horrible and the worst pain the world.
I was raised in a home where sex wasn't considered "bad" or "dirty" so it's not that, and I would really like to get over this. I have heard that some women simply do not enjoy penetration, and am fine with that, but would like to try it and get over this irrational fear.

I know Iv'e been posting a helluva-lot lately...but I'm really a little curious and dumbfounded, because my vagina smells really strong.  It usually doesn't smell, that I'm aware of. If it does, I don't notice it. It smells sort've fishy, musty-like. I've noticed the same smell when I take out my sponge...could it be leftover sperm? Cause I know my vag didn't smell like that before I put my sponge in...
Just curious, a little freaked out, and now self conscious about ym boy going down on me...OI!!!

Hey y'all, new here, but i have an issue and I wonder if anyone here could give me some insight. Im about six days finished with my period, but i have been spotting for 3 days. I never spot, i am either bleeding like a stuck pig or im not. my mother and her sister both had spotting early in their pregnancies. my husband and i are not actively trying to prevent pregnancy, but we arent taking any particular steps to cause it either, other than sex on a regular basis. Im not on hormonal BC because it makes me quite ill, regular pills make me puke less than an hour after i take them, and POPs make me have a period every 10 days. I have some hormone issues but since i am currently between insurance providers, it is as yet undiagnosed. I have been checked for uterine fibroids and they found nothing, although they did fond cysts on my ovaries on one side, but my periods are relatively regular, so PCOS is pretty much ruled out.

anyway, my questions are essentially:

1. if the spotting is implantation bleeding from a pregnancy, how long does that usually last?

and

2. Any other ideas as to what the bleeding may be if not from pregnancy?

any help would be appreciated.

Ok, my SIL is too chicken to ask this. So I told her I would.

My foolish SIL needed some action, but hubby was/is at work, so she took matters into her own hands. Thing is she said that she was all out of KY so she used Petrolium Jelly.

(*insert headdesk here after I heard this*)

Now she's all freaked out after the fact that she could get an infection or something. I really didn't know, so I'm asking here. Oh and SIL and bro are TTC and she might be preggers.

She said after her little enjoyment session that she had some faint bleeding in with the vaginal discharge/fluids but she thinks it might be because of her new larger toy but not sure 100%.

She's now freaking out in my ear that she's worried about getting an infection and/or harming her possible child.

Anyone know anything about Petrolium Jelly and female masturbation...safe?....y/n?

Thanks!
