I've been on microgynon 30 since september last year, typical user.  Recently I've been getting chest pain like my heart is over beating and hitting my rib cage, it only last a couple of seconds but makes me stop in my tracks.  I did think it could be heart burn or something like that, but I get it when I'm resting and havn't eaten.  I've read online that you should see the doctor if you experance severe chest pain, I'm just wondering if its a common side effect for this pill or something to be concerned about.

TIA

I had another followup pap after my LEEP last week. Among other customary questions, she asked if I was taking any pills besides HBC, "like a vitamin." I am not taking a vitamin, but am thinking about starting. Is there any interaction between vitamins and HBC? (I'm thinking of taking Women's One-a-day)

I know I had another question, but I can't think of it now!

I believe this is my first time posting here. *waves*

Okay, i'll start from the beginning. I've been in this relationship for almost 2 years now and we have sex weekly atleast. on January 1st when we got home from partying I went to pee and noticed there was a stain the was almost BLACK on my underwear. It scared the hell out of me but I went to sleep. The next day we had sex and when we looked at his peter it was covered in this dark red-ish/brown-ish color, so I freaked out and began to cry. A day later I got my period, so I just assumed that's what it was. I got my period for the month of february already, it ended last week. but yesterday my girly area began to hurt, like on the top, it felt like something was pulling and then I started getting that dark red/brown discharge. I'm scared.. what can this be? Has this ever happened to anyone? I'm going to my an appointment with my Gyno tomorrow.

I'm basically just here to vent right now.

I clicked this random link from msn where you take a bunch of online quizzes about sex/sexuality. I'm bored...and vagpag has made me addicted to fun stuff like talking about sexual health....plus you can win $250 dollars! Sweet.

Here's the thing though... while most of the info was accurate, there were some things on there that made me angry. First, they used the work "clean" to mean STI-free. I realize this is (unfortunately) still common usage....but I really think a sexual health quiz should know better.

One question (true or false), A woman can't get pregnant on her period. I said false...although I know it is much less likely. The quiz said I was correct, but then proceeded to say, a woman can get pregnant on ANY day of her cycle. Sperm can live for 5 days, yadda, yadda, yadda.......I realize that most people don't chart their cycles, but many do...and this is a valid form of birth control.

Another question said (true or false) "When practiced correctly, withdrawal can be an effective form of birth control." I said...TRUE! Alas, they told me I was wrong. Apparently, when practiced correctly, 1 in 5 women may become pregnant in a year......I'm sorry, what???? Where did you get that information! Maybe that's true if withdrawal is being used not correctly at all...but that wasn't the question that was asked.

It's not like i think you should just run around saying "withdrawal works for everyone!" or "don't worry, you can't get pregnant for a lot of your cycle!" Obviously, both these methods require some extra effort, and trust between partners.......but come on! Why spead lies! I saw a "myth versus reality" thing about sex the other day that made me angry too.

Basically, it just reminded me how much I love you guys.

You're all awesome, keep up the good work.

Hiya, This is my first post.
I have a question as to what you think they may be what a saw earlier...

I went in the shower and shaved with a new razor and ripped my self to shreds bleeding alot so i cleaned myself up and sorted i out then i noticed two tiny blisters on my vagina on the outside.
They do not hurt or itch or anything but now i am so ashamed and wondering what they can be.
I am sexually active with condoms.
Never had this before.... Any ideas.

Thanks

Last month I had went to my gyno to get a culture done on why I keep on getting what I thought were frequent yeast infections. Well, the culture came back normal and she told me it was most likely an allergy to the laundry detergent I was using and over medicating my supposed "yeasties". I switch my detergent and a couple a weeks passed and I was still getting irritation, itching, and discharge, but as the days went by it got less and less. Then came my period on Feb 5th and like my last period, the day after my last day I'm okay down there, no itching, redness, discharge..but 2 days later which is today...I'm getting discharge and slight irritation and itching. What the heck is going? I can't make another appointment with my doctor right now because of scheduling conflicts, but I was wondering, could it be some sort of STD?

I broke up with my man in the beginning of December and haven't sex since then...I'm still on birth control and I was thinking of stopping it since I don't have sex anymore, but it does help with my periods. Could the pills be giving me this discharge?

I didn't ask for a STD test at my gyno's like the idiot I am, so I really don't know...but I heard Chlymida can give you similar symptoms, but my gyno said when she examined me everything looked normal. Can a STD cause damage or something to my insides that my doctor might notice? If I have something like Chlymida, is it something I have to live with the rest of my life or a round of antibiotics can kill it?

Thank you so much you!!!

And oh yeah Happy Valentines Day!

Ok guys, prepare for TMI. I have several questions.. two of them about discharge.

Since the summer my discharge has been smelling... sour. I first thought it was because i was at university all day and it was hot and sweaty and I wear tight jeans, etc. etc., but now it's like -25 degrees outside here in Canadaland and it still smells like that! I didn't taste it because I'm afraid it's an infection... so basically I don't know what it tastes like. Oh and, it only smells like that every few days or so; not all the time. And the discharge is usually thick and white.

Other discharge question: the couple of days after I finish my period, my discharge smells like... milk. Actually, this smell is kinda indescribable. Milk, bread, beer...etc. HOWEVER, it's not a yeast infection, I know that for sure. It only happens after I finish my period and I don't get itchy and bothered and there are no cuts. Maybe my vagina is cleaning itself and extracting that horrible smell? It's kind of embarrassing because my boyfriend noticed it but didn't say anything.

Btw, these smells only started about a few months ago.
Has anyone experienced this/can relate?
Could being sexually active change the smell (I lost my virginity back in June of 2007)? Or maybe types of condoms have something to do with it?

Ok on to the sex question.
I used to enjoy the girl-on-top postion, but lately, it has started to hurt. My partner and I only have sex about once a week so I'm not going to attribute this to a swollen cervix (that's happened to me before). it's just everytime I sit on top of him, he hits something inside of me and it hurts SO BAD. Should I be worried about this? Should I grow balls and consult a doctor?

Thank you <3

I know this may sound silly, well it is silly, but I have a question that has been on my mind for years.

When I'm on my period my farts smell different. Pretty nasty sometimes. Vagina odor changing during one's period makes sense, but what about one's...::cough:: back door? I can't think of anywhere else to ask this question without getting the "O_o" face, but I'd really like to know how your anus/colon/all that stuff can be effected by mentstral cycles. Does this happen to anyone else?

I checked the archive by searching bubble baths and I got to "how to care for your vagina" or something like that. In the list of things to do and not do (cleaning and such) I saw it said "avoid bubble baths and bath salts..." Now, I originally came here to ask if it is ok for me to take a bubble bath. Yes I know how weird me asking sounds but now I am just confused. When I was about 10 i tried to wash my girly bits with soap, it stung for a while and I cried and ever since then, no soap (other than vagisil) has ever went anywhere near there. I also haven't had a bubble bath since then. With valentine's day here, me and the boy are going to have some fun and a bath is in the near future, and he suggested some nice bubble bath. Is this safe? I think I was scarred as a child and reading "avoid bubble baths" over here is confusing me. So?

Secondly, I also checked the memory and although there were similar situations, there ultimately wasn't a post that answered my question: I sometimes get bumps around my nipples that were deemed harmless by my gyno. They come and go all the time. But 2 nights ago I got a painful one. Please excuse me, I should probably learn better terminology  but its on the pink part around my nipple. Anyways, I broke it, so it seems like a pimple right? After puss came out, blood started to come out. But it aches when I touch it. Can it really be just a pimple, what should I look for that could possibly be alarming? The puss was completely white.

You guys are always helpful and great and I look forward to your answers :)

During the winter months, I always experience irritation on my back where my bra straps meet my bra.  There's always chafing, and redness, along both the bottom of the strap and the curve up to the cup of the bra (under my arms.)  I know my bras fit properly (not only because I've been measured and fitted, but also because they fit fine when my skin is not otherwise dry.)
I use lotion religiously, but was wondering if anyone had ever experienced this and found any preventative measures.
