So i've been having problems having sex for some months now and i finally decided to see my GP and she did some STI test and i didn't have any thankfully so she referred me to a gyno. my GP looked inside my vagina and said it looked sore thats why i got sent to a gyno and ever since ive been really worried like it must be bad if i have to see a specialist :S i was booked for a coloscopy and after answearing questions the gyno thought i didn't need a coloscopy after all so i was a bit relieved. I got a letter a few days ago saying im booked in for an ultrasound trans abdominal, i looked this up and am i right in thinking its to look for ovarian cysts? i've been looking at worst case scenarios so i can prepare myself which isn't really positive but if it is a cyst will they have to remove my ovaries? Thanks in advance xxx

YI treatment -- time and timing

I started a seven-day round of miconazole nitrate (store-brand monistat) today. Wonderful. Less itching already where it was applied topically and I just did the first syringe-thing-full JUST to be safe (everything's been external so far).

Problem: Sunday night is New Year's eve, and I do not know that I will be laying down for any prolonged period of time. Same problem for a party I'm going to Thursday night.

Skipping treatment days does not exactly seem like a great idea. I figure I could fit in a three-day from Monday to Wednesday night -- or how long must one stay horizontal after an application? Would my 7 to 9 AM crash-out nap be sufficient flat time?

I don't know who to talk to...

My friend's mom (my friend and her family are almost like family to me) told me that I should tell my dad about the new shot thing for cervical cancer and talk to him about getting me into seeing a doctor for the shots... but I'm not comfortable talking with my dad even about boyfriends let alone cervical cancer... and I really want to know if there is another way I could do that.. other then to wait it out until I get my own money and care and stuff I can just handle it myself.

I'm 16 and will soon be 17, I have my license so I suppose I'm partially there... but I'm nervous... the last thing I want is cancer of any sort...

Also... I seem to get a lot of discharge often... even when i have my period sometimes.

it smells sometimes too... I'm afraid I might have something wrong with me... but again I'm afraid to talk to my dad... and my mom is in a nursing home because she's mentally and physically ill with M.S.... so I can't talk to her.. not like i would be in a social position to anyways...

So I'm wondering could it be an infection of any kind...
Can I just get it taken care of without my dad noticing I'm buying any kinds of medications or such things...

sometimes the discharge has a slight yellow tint but not really a lot... mostly it's just a lot... is it normal to get discharge every day?

i know the only way to be sure you have a yeast infection is to go to your doctor and ive had one before. but i have a question.

last time i had a yeast infection it was so obvious and i treated it and blahblahblah.

but this time. my clitoris is SO ITCHY AND OUCHY. but nothing else is wrong. no smell. my vagina lips or inner area dont itch. so is this still a yeast infection? or is this something else.

also. theres nothing i can do until my appointment right? i mean if it is a yeast infection? cause that sucks. it itchs bad.

i dunno if it matters but i am on birth control. and sexually active. and recently taking penicilin for an ear infection. and starting prozac for anxiety attacks.

UTIs and cranberry fruit drink

I've got a UTI which I'm treating with trimethoprim (after seeing a doctor). I've got some cranberry fruit drink which is 27% cranberry juice, and sweetened with sucralose rather than sugar. Is this OK to drink? Will it help at all?

all i can think of right now is "dirty love" (horrible, horrible movie) and "now and then," if i remember correctly.

HPV/Genital Warts Treatment

I had my third acid(I don't know what else to call it)  treatment yesterday.   The first two times I went the doctor used the wooden end of the medical q-tip and just placed it on the warts themselves.  I went to an entirely different doctor yesterday and she used the cotton swab end and pretty much covered my vaginal area near where there were warts, even if there weren't any there.  All day today it has burned to urinate and just like 10 minutes ago I found pieces of skin on the toilet paper when I was finished "doing my business".  They were pretty decent sized pieces of skin and two of them looked like like tastebud looking pores on them.  My doctors office is closed til Wednesday, is this something I should go to the ER about.  Or is it normal when a lot of the medication is used.

colposcopy

so im getting a colposcopy on tuesday. and i read about it and im scared out of my mind. it sounds terrifying and like its going to be extremely painful. i mean i am a small girl. 4'11" 90lbs. when i get my pap test its a little painful. so im frightened. anyone had one and like to share their experiences?

Period Twice in one month?

For the past few months my period has been getting gradually and gradually closer to the beginning of the month (It used to be bang on the 23th of every month) until for some reason it started migrating.

I think now I may be getting it twice in one month. Any idea of what is causing this? I'm not on hormonal birth control, and there have been no major changes in my day to day pace. I'm also 17, and got my period when I was 12.

Goddamnit! At least I'll be able to try out a Divacup for the first time now.
