Continued from this post.

Okay girls, I sort of ignored the swollenness and twinges all day, hoping it would just go away. Sadly, it got worse and worse (I was at a wedding, too!), and by the end of the night I was sitting with an ice pack on my girly parts. Went to bed at 11; woke up at 3am crying from the pain.

Long story short, I went to the emergency room, took some ibuprofen, and got a prescription for Cortizone cream.

The doctor thought it could be a number of things. I have extremely sensitive skin, so I could have come into contact with something I'm allergic to (I can't think of what, since the last date of sexual intercourse/etc was last Sunday, and since then I've been on my period), or it could be an infection (also unlikely because apparenlty it doesn't appear to show any of the signs of infection besides swollenness. Or, it could be herpes.

Now, the doc. told me that usually signs of herpes is swollenness and water blisters. I have no blisters, and it's only my clit that is swollen: wouldn't it be the rest of the general area swollen as well? Also, my boyfriend definitely has no STIs; he had a canker sore but I understand those are from eating acidy things and not transferrable. I, however, had a cold sore about two weeks ago, and though it was cleared up by the time I gave him head last weekend, could it still have transferred?

I'm incredibly paranoid now....the doctor said that if it's just swelling then it should clear up considerably over the next three days. So I took a sitz bath (which he recommended) and am now sitting here with an ice pack down my pants. XD

Er...any advice on the herpes end? And, has anyone else EVER experienced this, and what might have caused it for you?

PS: Thanks for the advice on my previous post, ladies :)

I checked the FAQ, couldn't find anything on it.

My YI left me with several cuts. Now, the actual YI is gone, but it's been a week or so and these frigging cuts are still here. It seems like they're super sensitive, and any stretching down there tears them right open. Anyone else have this problem? :(

They itch, so i'm sure my scratching doesn't help either.

Is Neosporin okay to use down there?

Thanks. :D

Hi all,

So I was masturbating today, the way I usually do - with my vibrating bullet, focusing mainly on my clitoris. It'd been a few days since I'd masturbated and while I wasn't feeling particularly horny, it was something I just felt like doing.

Well, today's session was really weird. To start, I had an orgasm very quickly, but it was weak - usually I get strong vagnial sensations and contractions, but today I couldn't feel them as well. So, dissatisfied with the first orgasm, I kept going. It was feeling good and I was getting close to orgasming, when suddenly I started squirting! I was so freaked out I stopped and didn't orgasm. Now, I know female ejaculations are normal and all, but I hardly EVER get them. In fact I'm usually really dry. So this was weird for me. Unperturbed, I started back up with my vibrator, only to be met with more liquid/ejaculation/whatever just as it felt like I was getting close to climaxing. I stopped before orgasm again, and then tried a third time. This time more liquid came out and I managed to have another orgasm, but it wasn't very much stronger than the first one.

Is ejaculation affected by anything - mood, the pH of your vagina, etc? I recently treated a YI with tea tree oil, and I'm wondering if it dulled the sensation in my vagina cavity at all. That might explain the weak-feeling orgasms. (Maybe? I don't know?) I don't think that would explain the copious amount of ejaculation though - seriously, that's NEVER happened to me before. It was so much! And it wasn't urine, I checked.

Explanations? Thoughts? Anyone? [Cross posted to the Sex Tips community]

I'm 18,I've been put on the mini-pill and have been on it one and a half months now. I've had an irregular cycle for a long time now, stopping starting, coming late, coming early etc but since i've been on the pill my period basically hasn't stopped.

Hi, I'm new.

I was on Ortho Tri Cyclin Lo for a few months, but after having breakthrough bleeding (not just spotting, but starting my period on like day 10 and having it continue through when my period is really supposed to be), I called my gyno and got a new prescription for Ortho Cyclin. I have a high drug tolerance, and I weigh like 150, so hopefully the non-triphasic and non-lo pill will solve that problem.

Anyway, I'm on my last pack of OTC Lo because they told me to finish it out. I've once again had my period for three weeks, and the other day I noticed that I felt a little weird down there. Well, last night it occurred to me that it feels like a yeast infection. I didn't realize that's what it was until last night, because i haven't gotten one in years.

So I'm wondering, could it be my three-week long period that caused it? I also just moved away from home to go to college for the first time. Could the stress have caused it? This is not fun.

so my period is very, very regular-- day 28 or 29, i know it's coming. imagine my confusion today when i notice i am bleeding-- and it's only day 18 of my cycle. i've been nauseous for two days and i had sex for the first time in months (hurray) on friday night. is there a connection? just coincidence? any thoughts as to why it's so early? i'm baffled.

so. ive looked online about this but all the info i find doesnt make sense to me and is just overwhelming. so im hoping somebody here can help, =]

im taking ortho tri cyclen lo BC so my period is usually around a 28-day cycle (today is day 22), which means day 14 of the pill pack is the day i ovulate, right? but i read somewhere that BC pills prevent ovulation, which is why it prevents pregnancy..my gyno didnt tell me that when i got them so i never knew how they prevented pregnancy. they just do. so that means i dont ovulate? then how can one get pregnant while being on the pill? does this only happen if a pill is missed? im so confused!

my bf and i usually use condoms as well as the pill but on around day 18 we had sex with no condom (he came inside me). this was the first time we ever had sex without a condom. i got scared about getting pregnant after and i looked up info online, or tried to, but everything i came across made me more and more confused. is ovulation day the only day i can get pregnant? or does none of that ovulation stuff apply cuz im on the pill? i read that ovulation takes place for only 24 hours. what happens for the other 6 days before i get my period? is it even possible for me to be pregnant?

i think thats all the questions i have. i probably missed some but hopefully somebody can help me clear things up. today is the day i get my period but it might not come til tomorrow or the next day. im kinda scared im pregnant but i dont think i really am. i just..i dont know! haha im so overwhelmed with info and so confused by all of it. (i was going to post this on amipregnant community but i felt the survey didnt really fit into what i was asking..)

thank you all so much in advance, sorry for the long post! =)

i have been taking a 28-day birth control pills since i was sixteen years old. and since i was sixteen years old my period has NEVER EVER come during that week of sugar pills. for the past two years or so my cycle has been regular-- i guess you could call i that. my period comes between five and seven days after the week of fake pills. i always start the new pack as just as i should, and i don't miss or skip pills etc, but the period always comes five to seven days later than it should according to the pills. so, every five weeks. is that bad? i've been wondering.

For a variety of reasons, my contraception options are limited. I'm currently weighing the pros and cons of several methods, one of them being lambskin condoms. The problem is, I'm having difficulty finding concrete statistics on their effectiveness at preventing pregnancy.

This page says that both latex and lambskin condoms "prevent pregnancy with roughly equal effectiveness," but the author doesn't give a source, and the page itself looks to be almost 10 years old. Moreover, I'm not terribly trusting of the page's credibility since it only gives the 85% typical use effectiveness rate for condoms and states, "You're taking a significant chance if you don't use any spermicide," which strikes me as a scare tactic, and the author seems to have a negative view of condoms overall.

I recognize that, according to the Mayo Clinic and other sources, lambskin condoms are not as effective at preventing against sexually transmitted infections, but that's not my concern here. (Both my prospective partner and I will be tested before sex, or there will be no sex.)

Go Ask Alice suggests that latex, polyurethane, and lambskin condoms have the "same statistical effectiveness against pregnancy." However, the U.S. FDA (though admittedly also an older chart) only gives stats for latex condoms, and VP's own Vulvapedia says that "exact statistics are not known."

Can anyone help clue me in here? Ideally, I'm looking for a credible, authoritative source that gives effectiveness statistics specific to lambskin condoms. If I'm going to trust something to keep my in my current non-pregnant condition, I want to know exactly how effective I can expect it to be. Any info you can provide would be great! Thanks!

during the couple of days leading up to my period, and also the first few days of it, i tend to feel really down. I wouldnt call it depressed, because that seems a bit extreme, but i just feel very mopey and sad. things that normally wouldnt faze me make me very upset. im restless and i lose my usual confidence--i feel like im stupid, boring and ugly. i get a little paranoid, too and dwell on negative thoughts.

i know feeling a little down on yourself during your period is a fairly normal thing. Im just wondering what i can do to deal with it or if possible avoid it. I just hate feeling like this, and id really appreciate some advice; natural remedies, dealing methods--anything, really.

thanks :)
