hey there, i'm new but i've been reading posts here for a long while. i'm just freaking out and i figured this would be a good place to look for an outlet. i just recently started taking the pill but missed a few and now i haven't had a real period in waaay too long. let me give you a time line and you let me know what you think.

may16th period
may 23rd started very first 28-day pill pack
june 6th lite spotting that lasted a day
june 11th missed the second to last pill before the placebo
june 12th missed the last pill before placebo, stopped taking the pills and never re-started
june 24th lite spotting that lasted a day

pretty much (give or take a day or two) i've been having daily unprotected sex with my partner from the start of may until a few days ago (he's away on a trip). i took a pregnancy test that came out negative on the 29th of June. could i possibly still be pregnant? the pills (or rather my lack of taking them properly) have me all thrown off and i have no idea what my cycle is doing or if i should be expecting my period??

Every since I had my baby 2 months ago my body is just not the same. For instance when I have a bowel movement I see blood when I wipe. Not a lot of blood but just a little, sometimes its pinkish. I even have that when I wipe in the front. Also occasionally I have this weird discharge when I wipe, sometimes its brownish. Or sometimes I get that pinkish blood. Is this normal? Should I mention this to my Dr when I go see him?

Hi Ladies-My name is Karen I am a 38yo Stay at Home Mom I am married for 10yrs with three daughters 15, 9, & 3.  I live at the NJ Shore with my little clan and 2 very large black labs and 2 snooty cats. I am active in the Girl Scouts, Women & Childrens rights, Adoption Rights, & my childrens sports teams.  I enjoy cooking, reading, crafts, tea and Heavy Metal.   I am glad to have found this community and after lurking for sometime today I decided to post.

This week I found out that I had an abnormal pap smear.  This is the first time ever in the 20years since my first exam.  My gyno told me there was no presence of HPV and she is not sure why the test has come back abnormal.  They have schedule me for a colposcopy on the 17th of July.  The weird thing is I have been with my husband for 13years.  For the past year we have not had intercourse due to my dead libido and the fact that he lied to me about quitting smoking (long story short).  I had my last child three years ago and needed a c-section after a long , loooong labor.  My body has never been the same.  Last year I went on Seasonal due to heavy periods and stopped this June it was not working so what was the point.  I started using deoderant pads & monistate powder because I tend to leak at unwanted times (EWW see long labor).  So I am wondering if the abnormal is just and infection due to the pads and powder.  And tomorrow I am off for a mammogram (are we allowed to mention boobs here)  I have found a small lump and my dr confirmed but told me not to worry as I am sort of lumpy anyway so it is hard to tell if it anything.
So I am just falling apart and need some sympathetic women to kvetch to.  Thanks-K

i have EXTREME pain during intercourse on the very outside of my vagina, and i was hoping somebody here might be able to lead me in the right direction to figuring out why.

i know it's not due to a yeast infection, and its not due to stds. penetration hasnt always hurt, the first time i was ever fingered, i was fine, it felt great. which to me seems sort of odd, because tampons have always hurt, and any sort of penetration i've had since then has always hurt.

i've seen my gyno about it, and she thinks it's due to vestibulitis. she prescribed me a cream called clobetasol propionate, to apply twice a day for two weeks. it didnt work at all. she also prescribed me lidocaine cream to sort of numb me during sex, but that didnt do anything either. i've gotten a pap smear, but havent gotten the results back yet.

i'm getting desperate. any ideas?

So last night for the first time ever i slept without undies. It was hot and i thought it would be comfortable. Well i woke up today and my girl bits felt really dry. I ignored it and went to the bathroom as i normally do when i wake upin the morning. I look at my bits in the mirror and the looked red. I kinda rubed it gently because it was soreish. about 1/2 hr after that i noticed it felt funny down there. My labia minora are so swollen that they are protruding out of my labia majora. Its all dry feeling swollen and sore. Help!!! now its almost 3:30pm i woke up at 11am its hurts. ANy idea whats going on something to make it feel better or just anything? if it helps my period just ended yesterday.

So, ok. You know how the instructions for Ortho-Evra say that if your patch comes unstuck, you should immediately replace it? I did that, cos it wasn't on right. So I put on a new one.
Thus, I am now out of patches a week early. I need to get a new one tomorrow, because..well..for a plethora of reasons. But the point is, it's too early, according to my pharmacy. They said they aren't allowed to give me a refill til July 10. What do I do? I was only following the directions for if your patch gets messed up! I had to use one that wasn't sposed to be used yet! Should I just called up Planned Parenthood (where I got the original prescription) and explain the situation, and see if they would explain it to my pharmacy so I could get the extra patch?
Thank you all.

This is such a great community. Thanks for any help.
I have two questions about the BC pill; I looked through the FAQ and archives but still wanted clarification. FYI, I take the generic of Mircette (Kariva). I am sexually active and use it as my sole form of birth control, but I am not currently having sex because I am in a different country than my bf.

1) Can I start a new pack early without entirely skipping the placebo week? For example, if I wanted to start my new pack on Wednesday, halfway through the placebo week, would that be all right? My periods are really short (1-2 days), so my period will definitely be over before start the new pack. (I want to do this in order to time my periods around trips without running out of medication before I go home).
2) If I start a new pack at a different time of day (say, I was taking the pill at 9 in the morning, and with the new pack I start taking it at 4 in the afternoon) will I still be protected? Or will I need to wait through 7 consecutive days of pill-taking to be protected?

Thanks!

Help.
Ok, I think I have a yeast infection. In fact I'm pretty sure. Itching, discharge, smell, irritation inside... I have had them all for a little bit. So last night I tried Canesten and I noticed that 1) it burned like hell last night maybe 5 minutes after I put the first pill up there and 2) this morning I had absolutely tonnes of discharge coming out of me like my period flow (except it didn't last as long, lol... maybe just 15 minutes) and it's still burning, but not as bad. Is Canesten working? Does this mean I do/don't have a yeast infection? I'd call my dr. but it's Sunday. The itching outside (which had been near constant and almost unbearable) has stopped.
In case you're all wondering about STDs, I've been tested for everything and it's all come back negative, but my dr. believes I'm positive for HPV although he's confirmed that all the above symptoms were not caused by an outbreak.
...gah.

Hi, I'm 14 and I've been having my period since I was 11. I've had no problems with it and it's been regular since the beginning. But now I'm five days late. I was supposed to start on Wednesday. I've had the normal ovulation discharge and everything, but the period is MIA.

I'm a virgin, I'm not on medication or BC, and I'm not under any stress. I've recently started taking Tae Kwon Do, but I've had my period since I've started.

Since my last period, though, I've had a sinus infection and I've been on amoxicillin and azithromycin. But I stopped taking these over a week ago, maybe two, so I don't think they'd have an effect.

Do you have any idea what's wrong? This is the longest time I've gone without a period. 32 days is pretty long for me. Should I wait longer for it to come before I get worried?

Hi there! This is my first time ever posting here, and with that said I have a question. I have talked to my mom several times about pregnancy, sex, ect. and she's made it clear that if I want birth control to come to her in case my current beau and I decide to take things further in our relationship. Recently I've had a friend have to go through an ordeal that I know I do not want to go through and it's made me think more about getting on HBC. I want to ask my mom, but I'm kind of worried she'll think it's because I've started having sex and that's not the case. I just want to be protected in case anything happens in the future. My beau & I are both virgins and plan on staying that way.. at least until we know it's safe and won't be put in a compromising situation.

Anyways, I guess my question is if any of you have advice for bringing up the topic again, but in a way that it's not for sex, but simply for being protected?

Sorry if this sounds a bit dumb. I'm kind of shy about this stuff.

I was thinking about going on the pill.
I was going to go to the doctors and everything without my mother knowing.
I thought it would be all simple, go in there, they lecture you and then you get the perscription, then I read this:

Your doctor will do a physical exam and then help you decide whether the Pill is right for you. The physical exam may include:

a breast examination
a pelvic examination
urine and blood tests
a blood pressure check
measurement of your height and weight

Do they actually do that?
I don't want to get it if I have to do some sort of examination.
No mater how professional, I'm pretty much not comfortable with any of them.
I'm from Australia, if that matters.
