My body tortures me every time I get with someone new by sending me a lovely YEAST INFECTION. After hooking up with a friend last week, I am in torturous circumstances once again. AND I was out of yeast treatment this morning.

So, I thought I'd photodocument making my special recipe: boric acid capsules. They are SO MUCH CHEAPER than over-the-counter or prescription yeast remedies, and so easy, too.

Check out the photoset for easy-peasy instructions.

From the VP yeast FAQ: more info on using Boric Acid to cure yeast infections.

hi,
now i know spotting is normal on birth control..and i know that sometimes a few days or so after your period you can have old blood come out when you orgasm..but i'm on the nuvaring and i will be taking it out this friday for me ring free week and i just had an orgasm and now i have discharge with old blood in it..quite a bit. so do you think it made my period start early or is this really still old blood from my last period? this has never happened to me before and i've been on nuvaring for about 6 months, and bcp's for about 7 years.

This isn't a question about me specifically, but just in general.

I went to the doctor a couple months ago and we got on the topic of pap smears. She told me these days the rule of thumb as to when a woman should get her first pap is 2 years after she first becomes sexually active, regardless of age.

Is this true???

I've always been under the impression it was within the same year a woman initially becomes sexually active, or by the time she is 21 (whichever comes first).
Then again, I've also heard you should go when you turn 18, and I've even heard when you first start your period (which seems sort of ridiculous).

But anyway... 2 years after you first have sex? Isn't that a little risky to wait so long, especially with the risk of contracting HPV and developing cervical cancer?

When, exactly, should one go for her first pap?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm just really curious about what is fact here!

So, I'm one day shy of it being 2 weeks since I had a LEEP done, and I've still got this ghastly discharge. I didn't think it was supposed to last this long. Does anyone know how long I'll be spitting this stuff out? The smell and color changes daily. I can't even keep up anymore.

I used to have a Divacup, but I accidently destroyed it. :( So I got a Mooncup because it was cheapest, and my period just started so in she went.

I first tried it with the full stem and immediately realised that wasn't going to work. The way I inserted my Divacup - I'd push on the tip of the cup to get it right into place, I couldn't do this with a long stem so I chopped it to about the length of the Divacup's original stem and tried again. Still couldn't get firm enough purchase to push it by the end. So I cut the stem pretty much all the way off.

The Mooncup is a lot squishier than the Diva so it was still awkward to push on it this way, the cup kept collapsing or tilting sideways instead of going further in.

I think I have it pretty much in place now. I guess we'll see as the day wears on.

Cyst?

Hello,

I'm a 20 year old girl from Norway. My sister was diagnosed with endometriosis when she was 16, and I have always had painful menstruations myself. I was just reading here that Large cysts in other locations can rupture and cause very severe pain at any time. I have had, and still do, extreme pain in what feels like my left lung, and sometimes also abdomen. Can this be cysts? I have several symptoms of endometriosis, but never knew about this before now. Any help is appreciated. :)

I feel silly for asking this.
If I go to the doctor to get some meds for what I think is a pretty nasty UTI(water and juice won’t do it for me), will they give me a pee-in-a-cup test?????

Because here is my dilemma… I just recently smoked pot for the first time (yesterday); will it show up when they’re looking for the UTI? I mean I don’t even know if doctors do anything about that if they find it. Sorry if this is a stupid question.

I have some areas on my vulva that sting. I looked in the mirror and it looks/feels like it is just bits where the skin has come off and it is healing, but I suppose it is difficult to dry out there. The skin round my vulva is very itchy, and sometimes I can't help but scratch it even though I know how wrong it is! I think that this has something to do with it. I know that I don't have thrush or any *visible* STI's because I went for a check last week, however I haven't got the results from the other tests back yet.

It also seems that I have a few white raised bumps there. I asked the Doc and she said it wasn't anything sexually transmitted. I have small white spots on my face, some I've had for around 8 years, and at one point we were going to get a plastic surgeon to remove them from my eyes, but eventually those ones fell (painfully) off. Maybe it's similar? Anyone experienced anything like it? I thought that these might be what I catch when I scratch and how I damage the skin.

I have changed my washing powder and underwear in a bid to help the itchiness but it hasn't, so I want to apply some sort of cream because it does feel very dry, especially between my vagina and anus. What is best? (UK brands if possible, or I can try and find equivellant). We have E45 cream in our house and I wondered if that would do in the meantime because it's meant for skin conditions and is fragrance free.

Thanks for your help

Many women describe their periods as "heavy" but there really isn't a good understanding of what that means. Science describes a "heavy period" as 1/3 of a cup or more of blood lost during menstruation. Unless you measure what comes out (and while cup users sometimes are able to do that, not everyone uses a cup or wants to use a cup, and not all cup users bother to keep track of the quantity of liquid in it) it's hard to know what really constitutes "heavy" bleeding.

This article was a very interesting discussion of what really is "heavy" and how often it happens. It talks also about how women are in tune with changes in their own cycles.

Be sure to check out the 6 point scale they use for describing the heaviness of menstrual bleeding. I think that was among the most interesting parts of the article for me.

Thank you all for your help with my previous problem. But this morning i descovered that i have another problem, and i'm kinda confused as to how it happened.

I have a small cut/nick about 1.5cm in length above my clit and i have no idea how it got there. It hurts like hell when i sit, get up, go to the bathroom etc. I have no idea how i cut myself, maybe i did it accidently when i was shaving, or maybe i did it during masturbation 'cause i use a pretty big vibrator and i have long nails...who knows.
But the thing is i don't know how long it'll take to heal. or even if there's anything i should do to help it not get infected, or to help it get better. Any ideas anyone?
I know this probably sounds stupid *blush*
Thanks in advance.

I just scheduled a very hard to obtain gyno appointment for monday the 26th and now(!!!!) my body is doing something funky and I can feel that my period is going to come earlier than usual and appear sometime before my appointment and continue through it.

Is it okay to go to the gyno if you have your period? I feel like I shouldn't and I should try to reschedule but it's pretty important that I go now.

I googled this and sort of found an answer, but I'm looking for a more complete answer along with some first-hand experiences.

Does anyone get almost mock-UTIs due to dehydration?

Has anyone had an accident with period blood at work? What did you do about it? Preparing for your period can mean stocking extra pads/tampons in your desk, but it's not like I have an extra pair of all my pants/skirts in my desk, too!

What have you done in the past? I try to be aware of what I'm wearing, maybe bring a jacket or wear a long shirt, but stuff happens. Have any coworkers ever noticed or even, said something? I'm really concerned since it could be viewed as "wow, you have no control over your bodily functions!" when it's really just an accident.

If anyone has any tips they would be greatly appreciated. I'm getting a Paragard IUD soon and while accidents at home may be a nuisance, I want to avoid issues at work as much as possible.

Thanks for any tips!

I need some advice on birth control.

Im currently on the pill (Zovia) due to uncontrollable periods. Ill bleed for 6 months straight and end up using several tampons an hour if Im not on BC.

My problem is I have a very busy and erratic day to day schedule and I can never remember to take the pill until my period starts.

Im considering either the patch or the nuvaring.

I dont know much about either so I was hoping to get some input from you guys

One of my concerns about using any type of BC is that Iv heard it can cause you to become sterile as it thickens your cervical wall or something to that effect. I plan on having children sometime in the future so should I be worried?

Also with that patch, how well does it stay on? I work with horses and I get sweaty and grody and take baths almost daily. Will it come off?

Any input is welcome and of course I will be getting a doctor in a week (I just moved) but I was hoping to have some info together when I go.

I leak tons of discharge because of my NuvaRing, and I was wondering if I could use my DivaCup to collect it.  It soaks my underwear when I wear it, but I usually don't, so I end up with a big wet spot on my pants and I hate it!!!  Any suggestions?

I got off BC a few months ago, the last pill I took was around the beginning of February. Since then my cycle has been pretty wonky, ranging from 30-40 days (But my cycle before BC was pretty irregular as well). My last cycle began on June 6th and stopped around 13th-14th.

I had sex this past Monday and Wednesday (19 and 21). We used protection for the most part on Wednesday, there were a few thrusts in an out without a condom (maybe 3 minutes), but we used one afterwards when he finished. Today we used a condom again, but for some reason it kept slipping (not completely off however) but he never finished. Our condoms are spermicided.

I don't know if I should be worried or not because of the day it occured. It happened around the 13th day, and I know that day is typical for most girls to be ovulating (with a 28 day cycle). But because my cycle is always longer than 28 days, is my ovulating day still around there? Should I have reason to be worried or should I purchase Plan B?

Your help would be greatly appreciated. =)
