I was thinking of posting this to
tanningbabes but I thought it might be TMI for them, and since this is definitely vulva related I'm hoping someone out there can help.
I've been indoor tanning for a couple weeks. Just to preface, I know how damaging UV can be, but I'm going on vacation in a week and I have sensitive skin--the last time I went on vacation I lay in the sun for five days and burnt badly despite lathering with SPF 30 sunscreen every half hour, and I ended up with sun poisoning...so for health reasons I'm getting a base tan right now before I go away since the whole point of the vacation is to lay on the beach and relax. I've been tanning easily at the salon and haven't even gotten pink. However, I've noticed in the past week that I'm a little tender around my outer labia/clitoral hood, and my nipples--it's not bad and doesn't look burnt, but I don't want it to get that bad. I put sunscreen on my nipples, so that's not a problem, but is it ok to put sunscreen on one's outer labia? Do you guys recommend anything I could put there? Vaseline?
Oh, and FYI I'm tanning naked because I'm going to St. Maarten and anticipate going to nude beaches, so I'm trying to make sure that all of my skin gets some UV exposure--so while I know wearing a bathing suit would solve the problem right now, it won't help in the long run. Thanks for any ideas!
