so i'm new here, but i think this is one of the most USEFUL lj's i've come across. THANK YOU!

i have a question -

a couple of years ago, i stumbled on a product called Instead. (i like to call it a bubble.) it's for when you have your period, only you wear it inside. (kind of like a diaphragm.)

they were great because, although they won't keep you from getting preggers, you can wear them for something like 12 hours and they won't leak because they're plastic. they just fill up. also - you can have sex while you wear it and not mess up your favorite sheets. i've never had a partner that could feel it, either, so bonus.

my question was - WHERE DID THEY GO???? i haven't been able to find them anywhere for at least 1 1/2 years now. i've looked at every (american) drugstore i can think of, and nobody seems to even remember them. i know i did not make them up.

suggestions? i swear if i ever find them again i will buy every box they have in stock...

OK. After three years I am officially going *off* the birth control pill. I've given this much thought, but I think this is the right thing for me, I am really looking forward to it.
Is there anything I should know? watch out for? changes? a period of adjustment?
Welcome to condomdom. heheh

this is a question i should already know the answer to, i'm sure.

i'm on ortho tricyclen.. and i was told that the pills u take during ur period are sugar pills. and also, you can in fact get pregnant while you have your period. so. my question is:

can you get pregnant if you have sex during ur period if you're on the pill?

Alright, I was talking with my roommate (who is a bio major) today, and we got on the topic of breast feeding. She mentioned that it was a form of birth control. I thought she just meant that in the case where a woman is breast feeding, she wouldn't have sex and voila - birth control. But no, she says that a woman physically can not get pregnant if she is breast feeding. Now this sounds suspect to me. Does anybody know anything about this?
