vaginapagina | Can't stop bleeding on Nuvaring

Hey everyone,
I've never done this before but I stumbled upon this little community and all of you seem to be very helpful!
So my concern is regarding bleeding that won't seem to stop.
I've been on Nuvaring for years and I recently started stacking.
My periods usually don't start until about the 3rd day the ring has been out. I became sexually active again for the first time in a while recently and my new partner preferred I take out the ring to fool around. I've done it before so I didn't mind. But I had had a couple drinks and fell asleep after, forgetting to put it back in. I didn't remember it wasn't in until I started bleeding days later.
In hopes of avoiding the period altogether I put a new one in right away.
The period couldn't/wouldn't be stopped so I let it run its course and then it ended.
But after a day of no bleeding I started to bleed again. And it's been on again off again for a few days.
I'm wondering if I should be concerned?? Or perhaps it's just catching up with me after stacking for months??
Do you guys think it will stop when I take it out to have my period next?
I'm really hoping things will go back to normal. I really do well with this birth control usually and I really liked it.
