Speaking of periods I just started, a couple minutes ago, and incidentally I was prepared and had a pad on, but it TOTALLY MISSED. How's it do that. I don't know. Stupid pads.

that's reason number one why i HATE pads. tampons aren't much better (since they ruin the natural moist environment of the vagina). i wanted something different and i read somewhere about these things (http://www.softcup.com/insteadclub.html) (called INSTEADs) and gave them a try -- i loved them! but i couldn't rationalize wasting that much plastic every month, so then i did some research and finally ended up buying one of these (http://www.thekeeperstore.com/), which has been such a lifesaver. it was affordable, made of all-natural rubbers, and it will last me years and years so i'm saving lots of money in the long run.
