Mysterious UTI

vaginapaginaHello Everyone! I've never posted here before but I've hung out for years, and was hoping you could help me because I really don't want this to keep happening...
I've had UTIs fairly regularly (about twice a year) since I became sexually active about three years ago. I've learned pretty well how to prevent them - peeing before and after sex, bathing after sex, and not having sex right before bed. But this morning I woke up with a full blown UTI and I haven't had sex in the last 36 hours. My question is, how the heck did this happen?
The only two things that were out of the ordinary last night - it was cold so I wore UnderArmor thermals, which can be tight and constricting, but doesn't that kind of thing cause yeast infections instead of UTIs?
The other thing - I had two small glasses of wine followed by two small glasses of water. I pee'd several times in short succession (not uncommon when I'm drinking fluids) but held it while I watched the end of a movie. I didn't hold it a ridiculously long time, but when I finally did go I felt that familiar burn.
