Hi,
Does anyone have suggestions for how NOT to *queef* (trap and then expel air from your vagina usually in the most embarrassing situations) I haven't been able to participate in yoga classes for years now, which really bums me out as i LOVE yoga but the embarrassment is too intense these days. Especially since having 2 kids. And i end up being so tense trying not to queef that it defeats the whole purpose of the class. Are there excercises you can do? It usually happens in upside down poses but also just in downward dog or positions that - for some reason with me - suck in air..... And the RELEASE it! Ohhhhhhhh. So ANNOYING!
Any help would be appreciated.

I would say try a tampon but I dont use them so I dunno if wearing one without having a period would be bad or not.

the problem is that they might dry things out. try a little lube on one and only wear it for yoga classes and you should be fine i think.

It's not really good TSS wise, I think.

Yah I dont think it's really a good idea...I dont have any other ideas other than that. What about a pad to absorb the sound? Probly not hmm?

Teehee! I always queef in those poses too. When I'm home or just with friends, it's fun and silly, but when I'm out it certainly can be embarrassing. I don't know if this will work for you (or if it will undermine the yoga) but sometimes if I feel a queef coming on, I do kind of a reverse kegel and bear down if that makes sense. Then air can't come in. Once I'm back upright I slowly release.

This. Bearing down whenever I feel I might be accidentally "sucking in" seems to help.

I have no idea, I only get this during sex... but if a tampon helps, a soft menstrual cup would be a healthier alternative. http://menstrualcupinfo.wordpress.com/cup-stiffness-comparison-chart/

omg this reminds me...

I learned out to bear down in a way to push the air out without queefing (slowly and something else I can not define)- I actually practiced and found ways to do this. A cup rather than a tampon might help as well, no risk for tss.
