Apologies because I know I read about this somewhere on VP, but at the moment I'm running a fever and sick and cannot find the information again/reliable information from another source.

I am on beyaz (generic of yaz, exact same thing except the non-hormonal pills have a supplement in them) and I remember reading that one shouldn't take NSAIDs while taking yaz-cannot remember if this was because it would decrease beyaz's effectivity or because of some other health risk. (I have always avoided NSAIDS since then.)
However, as I said, I'm sick and scatterbrained and took one aleve today without thinking. I'm not so much worried about the one aleve I took as I am what about would happen if I kept taking it. I would like to use it as a fever reducer because I live in a dorm and don't have access to non-NSAID medication until Monday...

So, what is the interaction between yaz and NSAIDS? Can I take them once in awhile, or not at all while on yaz? Apologies if any of this is poorly stated, I'm pretty out of it.

Hmm, I take Yaz, and Aleeve on a regular basis, and have never been cautioned against it by my doctor. I just did some quick research, and what I found seems to state that if you are taking naproxen on a regular basis, it could raise the risk of hyperkalemia, if you already have the risk factors. I don't think you should have a problem with taking one or two pills, unless you have other health factors. I would think you would be fine to take them once in awhile, but you may want to speak with your doctor to be sure, especially if you have other health conditions.
