A very happy new year to you all!
Just a little background info. I've been using a nuvaring for six months, having started on a 3 weeks in, 1 week out cycle. I've been slowly increasing the number of days I leave my nuvaring inserted, in attempts to transition to a 4 weeks in, 1 week out cycle. I'm in a healthy, monogamous relationship, sexually active (condoms are always used, as well as my nuvaring).
Usually when I go to leave my nuvaring in for an extra couple of days (I've been adding 2 days every month, so for the last 2 months), my 'period' will start no matter what, the same time as it would if I hadn't left it in the extra few days. This month, my ring should have technically been removed Wednesday, but since I've been pushing it later by 2x 2 days, the new date of 'arrival' would be Sunday. I'm adding 3 days this time and moving it to Wednesday, to have transitioned it over completely to a 4 weeks in, 1 week out cycle. It's Monday, and my period hasn't come yet. I'm slightly concerned by this, however I happen to be with a man who's obsessed with checking the integrity of condoms post-intercourse, and apparently they've all been sound, so while I'm not ruling out pregnancy in it's entirety I'm not overly concerned. That being said, I'm experiencing some weird bloating/the feeling of a 'full' stomach. A small percentage of people (judging by online accounts, anyway) have cited this as an early sign of pregnancy, however I'm unsure, and am thinking that I may just be paranoid and that this is actually a symptom of irritable bowel syndrome/lactose intolerance (neither of which I've been tested for but are very common in my immediate family members).
So I was wondering, has anyone done this 'switch' from 3 weeks to 4 weeks, and if so, have you 'missed' a period or had it arrive at a different time than usual?
