Also, something I've seen suggested in sterilizationqa or iud_divas is first request sterilization, so that an IUD seems like a compromise to the doc. Of course, the ideal situation would be that your doc is knowledgeable about the safety of iuds and nullipara, but not everyone has that privilege!
