Hello all!
I know your diet can effect when you get your period/produce changes in your cycle...I am starting to get a little worried, though, because I never really thought that eating *BETTER* could delay my period...Could it?

I have been taking a women's multivitamin every day for the past month. My last period was November 10th, my cycles are 31-32 days long, and I'm quite positive I ovulated on November 24th. I didn't have sex up to/on my ovulation estimate date, but did have sex on the 26th of November and have been having sex consistently since. My SO and I use withdrawal and fertility awareness as our only form of contraception, though this is soon to change. My period is due TODAY according to my calendar and I have been feeling kind of PMS-ish on and off for the past week, and today I had some slight cramping when I woke up but it's since ceased...other than that I my period should be here :(

I'm really worried! Could me bettering my diet and taking a multivitamin consistently delay my period? I also got kind of sick the week of the 24th, don't know if that could mess anything up...it was nothing major though, just a very minor cold.

Thinking about going to the store in a while and picking up fresh parsley and some cheap vitamin C to try to make it come faster...any thoughts? I'm starting to get really scared!

It sounds like you're concerned because your period is not even a day late! Having a cold when you're supposed to be ovulating can delay ovulation by a bit. Plus, when I took a "women's multivitamin" my periods got a lot heavier (not sure if my cycles were shorter or longer though), so that could definitely affect your cycle. Try to stay calm, and take a test in a couple days if you're still worried then.

So what does your chart look like? How long is your luteal phase usually? Do you normally get a temp drop before you get your period?

If you were sick around your ovulation time, that could certainly have affected your temps and cervical mucus, which means you could be wrong about your ovulation date.

I'm guessing you didn't mean to type 70?

So if I'm counting correctly, you're 18 days past ovulation right now? I can understand why you're concerned, then. But you said it's possible you ovulated late, and it is possible to have a long luteal phase occasionally. So I'd say you've got a couple more days before you need to get too worried, since it doesn't sound like you had any Oops moments with your birth control methods.

Since you're 18 days past ovulation, a pregnancy test should be accurate, if you think it would be comforting.

Even if you're spot-on with your ovulation estimate, your luteal phase could just be a hair longer than usual - that does happen.

First of all - don't panic too much : ) Even if your cycle is very regular, a day or three days or five days later than usual isn't cause for alarm. I'd give it a week before you worry too much. Stressing about it will only make you miserable and possibly delay it further.

Second of all - if you're having sex more than once per session and using pulling out/FAM as your BC, is he urinating between ejaculations? That's the safest way to have sex multiple times per session -- if he's not urinating between sex, any residual sperm in the urethra could be mixed in with pre-ejaculate (which doesn't contain sperm by itself) and carried into the body.

Best of luck and try not to worry too much : )

A week late is only normal if you're not charting your cycle. A whole week longer on the luteal phase is a pretty reliable sign of pregnancy, unless there wasn't PIV sex that month or the ovulation date could be off by several days.
