I am on Trisprintec and was apparently having breakthrough bleeding for a week and a half before my period arrived. Last month everything was fine again. Now this month again I am having what appears to be breakthrough spotting, again a week and a half before my period starts. Still think it might have to do with my nonsmoking causing the hormones to process faster? What should I do? I don't have time to go to he doc before my period starts, and this is the ending of my last pack. Do you think maybe the pharmacist can alter the prescription to another generic brand?

If you don't have "dispense as written" on the prescription, it's worth asking the pharmacist if they have any other matching generics in stock. They may not, though.

Good luck!

Are you wanting a different generic of ortho tricyclen or a generic of a different formulation? The first should be doable, though you might have o hit up a different pharmacy based on what's in stock. The second would require your doctor to send in a new prescription.

I don't have much that's useful to add besides the fact that I'm on OTC Lo and am having the exact same issue (and the worst mood swings of my life besides). I'm trying a whole new pill ASAP though. I don't want to be anywhere near this formulation. Good luck!
