Sex and the Pap smear.

Anyone know how long before a Pap smear you should abstain from sex? Two days? Three?

You don't have to abstain from sex, just intercourse. My doctor always told me that 24 hours was fine, when I was using a diaphragm or was on the pill. I'm not sure what it is if you use a condom.

I have always been told 48 hours, no penetration (so there's no lube or anything else inside you that could cloud your test results.)
