discharge day after period?

About an hour ago I started feeling cramps and my period just ended yesterday. I went to the bathroom and there was some light brown mucous discharge and I've never had that after a period.

Why did the cramps and discharge appear the day after bleeding stopped? I've been sexually active recently and a little worried. Thoughts?

I'd suspect the sexual activity -- it may've riled up your uterus a little, so that it spat out a bit more and got all crampy-grouchy at you. (Especially if you had an orgasm during the activities; that can cause uterine contractions, and since it's been contracting so recently due to the period, the muscles may be sore.)
