Ah. The IUD issues are a bit tricky as I didn't keep any IUD in place for longer than 8 months. With my first IUD -- a copper one -- I didn't experience increased bleeding (save for my immediate post-insertion bleeding, which lasted about 8 weeks) or cramping (which, the normal amount I get is plenty enough), but I did have some long cycles (50-55 days) with extended bouts (3-4 weeks) of pelvic pain/bloating/etc. I do not know whether those were primarily attributable to my IUD or my endometriosis. However, those cycle lengths and pattern of symptoms were not usual for me then, nor did they repeat themselves at other times in my life.
