cuts/tears on labia

Hi VPers!

I currently have a few tears and cuts on my perineum and inner labia.  I had sex last night after none for 2 weeks because of an external yeast infection (only my second YI, both external) and then my period. I self treated the yeast with yogurt, and it seemed to clear up.  But last night after having sex I went to pee and cried and soon as the first drop of urine came out. My inner labia on the right side is torn and I have multiple tears at the beginning of my perineum and then closer to my anus.  I was adequately lubricated,but I can see how my perineum had the potential to get torn, but how did my inner labia get torn? I haven't been able to pee last night because of the pain...I can have sex fine though.  I tried peeing with a wet washcloth covering myself, and even tried peeing in the shower, but it hurts so much. I know that it's necessary for me to pee so I don't get a UTI, but I'm not so worried about that right now, I regularly go longer without urinating. I guess what I'm wondering is if this could be from the yeast infection or something else? In the past I've had to be really careful wiping after peeing because I have torn my perineum before with toilet paper. Any ideas for a way to pee without screaming in pain? Thanks everyone.

I tore giving birth to my son, and was told to use a peri bottle (http://www.everythingbirth.com/Peri-Bottles-MED0050.html) ... basically, fill it with water and douse your ladybits while peeing in order to dilute the urine. Same idea as peeing in the shower, but a much more direct application.

Assuming that you're in the US, I would imagine that you'd be able to pick one up at a local drug store or medical supply store.

I also suggest pouring water on your vulva while you urinate. I have used a regular glass of water in the past and it worked okay for me. Sorry you're in such pain!

I've recently had the same issue, and thought about coming here to ask about this. You seem to be in my situation, despite the sex. (Haven't had it in over almost a year. xD) However, I figured it could have been the toilet paper I had been using, or maybe the way I was using it. I stopped wiping and just began to blot, and the cutting seemed to decrease, but not enough. I would put Neosporin on it to heal the cut up, after I washed of course. That seemed to help, but not enough. So just the other day, I just decided to shave my entire crotch. I had been trimming, but I thought I'd shave, since I've only done it about 3 times in my entire lifetime. Since I've shaved, I've not had the problem with the cuts. But I also wash my vagina more frequently (once in the morning and once at night) with this wonderful bodywash made by "Softsoap". It's dermatologist tested and has a no-soap formula. So it's gentle for me to use down there. :P

So I'm not sure if this would be a good tip to try, to keep the cuts from coming back. I know it hurts like hell when you pee, cause I've been there. Maybe you could position yourself on the toilet too, to where the pee doesn't fully drip onto the cuts, and will pee more forward? Maybe arch your bottom and lean forward? I've tried that too, seems to help a bit.

I had a cut right near my urethra once. The only way I could manage to pee without agonizing pain was by filling a shallow basin with warm water, putting it in the bathtub, squatting so that my vulva was submerged, and peeing underwater. Then, I could turn on the shower and clean up.

Kinda gross, but totally worth it to be pain-free. Pouring water over my vulva while peeing just wasn't good enough - it still hurt a lot.

As for how you got the tear - something might have hit you in a weird way during sex. That's what happened to me, and it didn't hurt at the time - we didn't notice until we saw the blood. It was quite mysterious, it's not like he had razor blades on his penis, but there were two rather deep gashes on either side of my urethra... fun.

I know it sounds counter-productive, but the best way to keep pee from stinging is to keep drinking as much water as you can, to dilute the amount of uric acid.

I'm also one for the blotting technique. I don't rub anywhere except my behind. You may want to check out the more luxury-type of tp (which is usually not the recycled kind) because it'll be softer/with greater cushioning/more layers.
