Honestly, there is always a possibility it's a different infection than a YI. The important thing to remember is that the chances that it's anything more than a transient infection that can and will be fixed with proper care are very minimal.
I think we're really taught to fear "what can go wrong" with our genitals, which leads to a lot of stress. And it's good to be aware of those things, but in reality -- most of the time, it's going to be awfully similar to getting a sinus infection, or strep throat or something... just on the genitals.
