I just wanted to say that when people talk about a drug-resistant strain of yeast (or bacteria) it refers to resistance to a particular drug or class of similar drugs. If you've never taken Diflucan before, it is extremely unlikely that your infection could be resistant to it. At-home treatments like garlic, tea tree oil, and boric acid are less likely to cause drug-resistance than medicines like Monistat and Diflucan because of the way they work, somewhat indiscriminately lysing (breaking open) cells rather than targeting the yeast by preventing them from performing a specific cell function.
