i've been having shaving bumps and irritation around my bikini area. now i know that's normal and they have creams for that stuff and all, but the problem is that i've tried them all, as well as moisturizers, baby oil and all taht good stuff, and nothing helps and i'm really embarassed about this. this has been going on for so long and i cant get rid of it. i want to shave more area down there but i'm afraid it'll get irritated as well. are there any tried and true solutions to this at all? please help. thanks.

Some stuff called Bikini Zone always works well for me. I get it at CVS or Wal-Mart usually. I have to put it on more than once a day when it's bad.

Is not shaving an option? I know some folks really like to do it, but sometimes irritation just isn't worthwhile.

I never used anything, after a while shaving the bumps stop comming up, so i always just left it, made sure not to shave too often and now it is just like shaving anywhere else. The only thing I could sugest would be alovera, either pure or in a gel, otherwise just wait a while untill they go away.

I used to have the same problem first I use a NEW razor everytime on my bikini line then after I dry off I pour or rub gently rubbing alcohol on the whole area. Yeah it sounds scary but it doesn't burn unless you cut yourself and even when you do it only burns a sec. Also dont use strong scented soap around there Oh and if your partner has bumps(on face or anywhere else) that can spread by direct contact OR by them touching you with infected fingers. Thats how I initially got it from a boy with razor bumps on his face and it was a BAD batch blisters and pain.... I thought I had herpes or something.. the doctor actually laughed at me and said ... oh its folliculitis.

Some of us just take better to shaving than others, I think. Whatever you try, you're probably best leaving the area alone until it heals. If you find that irritating, you're probably not going to find shaving lower any more comfortable, but if you do it, go gradually, so you can shave a bit more next time if it works, or have less to have to worry about if it doesn't.

Try deoderant. I use Dove, it works really good...the best for shaving it all!

Stripper trick of the trade: immediately after shaving, take a deodorant stick (NOT antiperspirant; it should not have any aluminum in it and its first ingredient should be something like "propylene glycol") and swipe it over the freshly shaved areas. The propylene glycol is a really good emollient that prevents the bumps and itching.
