So, I'm sitting down with a friend today, absolutely raving about Garnier Fructis Deep Conditioner, and she says, "Oo.. you should use it on your 'gina,". And I'm all, "What? Who conditions their pubes?!"

Apparently she does it all the time.

Does anyone else out there use conditioner on their pubic hair or know of anyone who does?

I saw it once as a reader tip in a magazine, and I tried it, but I've never noticed it to make a difference. The hair stays all wiry regardless.

I do when I know someone is going to be down there. (Suave Kid's Go-go Grape) Makes the hair soft and nice smelling.

See, I'd worry about combining the wrong smells.

Fruity things seem save, but I doubt my boyfriend wants a mouthful of flowery potpourri-ness.

Are there any scents you would recommend over others?

Oo. Vanilla would be worth trying. I've always had a thing for cinnamon, but I've never seen any sort of body-anything that was cinnamon-scented.

(random bit o' info: butter and cinnamon on clean skin smells and tastes amazing ;P )

I'm not a big fan of cinnamon. Don't really like it. But I'm sure Bath & Body Works has something in cinnamon for you.

Cinnamon can be irritating to skin, so maybe that's why?
I've used ground cinnamon occasionally in bath bombs, but never dared use cinnamon oil in everything.

I don't use it on my vagina, because nothing goes in there -- it's self-cleaning. But I've conditioned my pubic hair from time to time, when I have really good conditioner. I like the softness.

Hm. Are the instructions the same, or do you leave the conditioner on for a bit longer since pubic hair's relatively coarse?

...My shower routine goes; 'shampoo hair/pubes, (umm...I
just have a 'landing strip', so it doesn't take much...;-)
rinse, condition both, wash body, rinse conditioner from head,
shave legs/under arms, rinse conditioner from girly bits, shave
bikini line'...
I leave it on my pubes longer - not 'just' because the hair is
coarser there, but also; because it seems to make it much easier &
smoother when I then shave the areas on my mons & vulva - & I seem
to -not- get the irritation & the ouchie little red bumps on my
bikini line, that I often get if I *don't* use the conditioner
there prior to shaving!...:-)

Thanks for the routine rundown! You've convinced me! I get -awful- razor burn, and I only shave a teeny bit beyond the thigh-crease/mound area. Burn relief -and- soft pubes, who knew?!

I condition my pubic hair, but only because I don't shave at all and it gets pretty wild. I don't want any knots or anything, and I think the conditioner really helps that out. But I don't do it every time in the shower, only when I'm bored and stuff. And I never go all out and to all the hairs, just the main mound.

I have, and noticed a difference. Funny related fact: my boyfriend trims his body hair head to toe (italian thru and thru) and he conditions his *entire body* to keep from being prickly. Condidering my hair is rather long to boot, our house goes thru a ton of conditioner :)

My boyfriend trims his chest hair everysooften but afterward he's all sorts of prickly. Maybe I can slather him with conditioner in the shower from now on!

And on topic - I have conditioned my pubes a few times, but i haven't seen much difference in the texture or anything. I may have to try some sort of deep conditioner though, by the sounds of it.

The only advice i have about this is that if you have sensitive skin i wouldn't recommend it. It could very well give you a yeast infection. And some peoples pheromones might not mix well with fruity or flowery smells.
