Pink spot thing on mons pubis

I posted a few weeks ago about this little pink area on my mons pubis. I mentioned it to the doctor and she took a quick look and told me it was nothing. My initial concern was herpes, as I'd just gotten my first cold sore, but she said it wasn't. The fact it's still the same over a month later makes me think it can't be herpes. Now I'm worrying about HPV (I'm super paranoid about STDs so it's always my first thought when I have any kind of symptom). I've seen pictures of genital warts and my thing does not resemble any of them - it's quite flat, not uniformly round and sometimes seems to have a red bit in the middle. It almost looks like an insect bite or something. Has anyone else ever had something like this? I initially dismissed it as just a spot but it's been there a while now.

I get random marks all over my skin, and I never freak out until I see them anywhere near my private parts. And no matter how many times I get those lumps and bumps (and the flat marks too) tested and the doctor tells me "it's nothing, it's just your skin irritated because of hair/pressure from your undies" there is still a little part of me overly concerned that it's something it's not. (Chalk that up perhaps to a body fixated form of ocd and general anxiety issues perhaps)

To me, that sounds like a pimple or ingrown hair, or at least a bit of irritation of some kind. I wouldn't let it worry you so much, but if you have the means to get tested thoroughly then I'd do so if only to stop worrying about something which may in the end turn out to be nothing. Yep tell me about body related OCD. I worry about everything but, 100 times more when it comes to genital issues. I don't know why, cos I had problems down there long before I ever had sex, but once I had sex, I was convinced it was all a sign of an STD, heh.

If you're worried, get tested. If nothing else it will set your mind at rest :)

Is there a test for warts (I'm in the UK, BTW)? I thought they were diagnosed on visual inspection.
